Kareem Moore expects to be ready Sunday

Safety Kareem Moore says he expects to make his season debut at St. Louis Sunday, but other players are plagued by injuries that kept them from fully practicing on Wednesday.

Left tackle Trent Williams, who sprained his knee against the Texans, did not practice with his teammates Wednesday, but the team is not ruling him out of Sunday's game.

"We'll evaluate him every day," Coach Mike Shanahan said. "Hopefully, he'll be ready to go."

Receiver Anthony Armstrong also did not practice Wednesday because of a groin injury. In releasing running back Larry Johnson Tuesday, the team mentioned needing special teams help because of injuries. Armstrong appears to be the lone special teams contributer who did not practice Wednesday. The first-year receiver said he hopes to play Sunday, but Shanahan said Armstrong will be evaluated each day this week.

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth was limited in practice. Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said Haynesworth is still bothered by the ankle he sprained in practice last Wednesday. "Hopefully, there's no setback," Shanahan said.

As for Moore, the free safety apparently practiced fully Wednesday for the first time since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 23. He was limited in practice last Thursday and Friday and was ruled out for the team's first two games. Reed Doughty has been starting in his place.

"It felt good," Moore said after practice.

Good.

And you better believe the 2nd that Moore blows an assignment, DeAngelo Hall will be there to talk sh*t about him to reporters and via Twitter.

It's a damn shame when people scoff at professionalism. When did it become cool or "the norm" to not be?

Good..One week too late, but we'll take it..

I'd rather go 9-7 or so without giving away the farm for VJax..We can really tool up for a serious championship run next year..

Moore speed for the defense.

Doggy Poopy McPoop in action:

Dog poop is lighting a lantern at a Cambridge dog park as part of a monthslong project that its creator, artist Matthew Mazzotta, hopes will get people thinking about not wasting waste.

The "Park Spark" poop converter is actually two steel, 500-gallon oil tanks painted a golden yellow, connected by diagonal black piping and attached to an old gaslight-style street lantern at the Pacific Street Park.

And, I mean, be a serious threat for years to come with the right people..More O-line (you might have heard that mantra)..

"The good corners I've been around all have that mentality. I'd be disappointed if he didn't have that mentality," Haslett said

By Jason Reid | September 22, 2010; 4:05 PM ET

Haslett never was around Leigh Torrence. Leigh Torrence let his play on the field speak for him. Haslett would have been disappointed by Leigh Torrence.

Love it how if you don't condone Hall's comments, you have to be "crying" or defending Doughty or Buchanon.

I'm not familiar with Buchanon, but I know that Doughty is a hard worker. Sure he'll never be starting material in the NFL and I've been harshly critical of him at times, but damn, the dude goes out and gives it 100% -- HE'S TRYING!

I could see if he was half assing it in practice then go out on gameday and become a liability (like others) but he's giving max effort.

Hall knows this. Like I said, he pulled a classic bama ass move: Deflate another's ego, while boosting my own. A dick move to say the least.

And 4th, Mike Jordan didn't have to tell people he was the best because his performance on the court ALWAYS spoke for itself.

Posted by: RedDMV | September 22, 2010 4:13 PM

It hasn't, but you have to acknowledge in the Real World their are these types everywhere around us. Some are good at what they do, some are not. Everyone has a certain demeanor......

Glad Moore will be back.
Trent Williams probably needs to take a week off, so he'll be healed and ready for Philly.

so did Favre have the presser, adn what was it about?

NAw...it was the media tripping over their feet, PFT style.....

I don't know how Moore is instantly our savior. Honestly, I don't think Moore would have made a difference last week. The defense as a whole needs to play better and force a lot more 3 and outs.

Interesting statistic I heard on the radio today... info kind of makes you go... hmmmmmmmmmm??

Andre Johnson didn't catch a pass during the 21 times Deangelo Hall covered him on Sunday... Then why in the F*CK was he all alone with fricken Reed Doughty??

God, I wish we could have 4th & 10 back...

Ok, reading this report, we now see what the Skins are thinking.

With Anthony Armstrong out w/ a groin injury, we signed a special teamer to play this Sunday.

DT#11 will now move into Armstrong's rotation at WR.

I hope Trent plays. Best case scenario is that we run up the score really early, then let Trent rest . I do hope he gets some reps in this game.

Posted by: iH8dallas | September 22, 2010 4:36 PM | Report abuse

Run up the score early?
With an injured Trent Williams or without him entirely?
This is a road game in the NFL, and we are talking the Skins whose run game is amongst the worst in the NFL.

We just need a win, Sunday!

Buddy of mine just sent me this:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/470668-rumor-washington-redskins-and-san-deigo-chargers-have-deal-in-place-for-jackson

Says that we have a deal in place for VJax. We are apparently trying to shop "another player" to acquire additional picks. Not sure how much if any truth there is to this.

Posted by: HokiesSkins | September 22, 2010 4:42 PM | Report abuse

I think for this week's Rams game, Devin Thomas should bat a pass to Pete Kendall and let him run with it.

What could possibly go wrong?

I'll get you a Kleenex in the meantime...

Posted by: p1funk | September 22, 2010 4:43 PM | Report abuse

A note on the VJax situation. He could still be traded by game 6, though he has to sit out longer this year. Which means whoever is getting him isn't doing for 1 year, but for a loner term.

In many respects, this changes the dynamic. Clearly the Minny rumors were about 2010 -- likely the last year with Favre. It'd be a good deal for 2010, maybe not nearly as good come 2011.

Now the teams looking at a short term fix are out of the running, teams looking longer term (Sea, perhaps us, maybe others) are now the liones that can have the discussion.

AJ Smith in SD is going to have a very difficult time getting the pick he wants out of this. VJax is going to have a difficult time getting out of SD.

A few people need to realize that a circular firing squad is a bad idea.

No... for once, we need to score & keep scoring for our team confidence & this town is tired of "barely winning". This is a team McNabb & company should tear to pieces. The bar has been raised, we finally have a QB that can read a defense & escape the rush.

Posted by: tony325 | September 22, 2010 4:44 PM | Report abuse

Hokieskins - that's over with. The deadline has passed. If we trade for Jackson now, he misses 7 games instead of 4. No way we pull the trigger for that.

BTW, San Diego is moronic for not getting whatever they could for VJ.

It's not the same. You're comparing a workplace with an organizational hierarchy to a football team were the players are all equals. Add to the fact that you're talking about situations that were handled internally. Your wife's boss did not tell people outside of company that it was your wife's fault.

Sorry Reed , The D needs Kareem there to step it up a notch or 2 ! Thanks for your help . Two things that upsets me so far ; D's ability to wrap up on tackles ( inability ) , catching the ball when it hits your hands !! Seems like .... S.S.D.Y

Had to have the paperwork into the league by 4pm. Just playing devil's advocate, no way to say that hasn't already happened. I certainly have not seen any news source ESPN, cbssports, etc. announce that there is no trade for VJax....I would think we would have seen that by now.

By my count, 26 rookie QBs got their first win against the redskins. It's SOP. Stafford was the last, but the list includes Randall Cunningham, Phil Sims, Clint Longley, and even Sonny, plus a host of others. Guess what? Here comes another. Bradford will light up this pathetic excuse for a defense.

Let me tell you people something about the Redskins...1st - we are ranked DEAD last in the Run game...2nd we are ranked DEAD last Defensively. This team is a joke. Blowing the 27 to 10 lead left me feeling like Jim Zorn was still our Coach. This team has not improved at all this offseason except for the QB. They still stink in all the basic fundamentals. We'll be lucky to finish 4 and 12...mark my words.

The problem with Reed Doughty is never effort. The problem is a lack of ability. Which begs the question, "Why the hell was he 1 on 1 with Andre Johnson?" He actually had good coverage on the touchdown, Johnson just "out athleted" him. Maybe, just maybe, double coverage would have forced Schaub to throw the ball somewhere else. But it was 4th down so maybe not. Maybe a second man in coverage could have strictly played the ball and knocked it out of Johnson's hands. But hey, what do I know? My football coaching experience is 2 seasons coaching 11-year-olds.
