Albert Haynesworth faces sexual assault allegation [updated]

By Mike Jones

Updated 4:45 p.m.

D.C. police are investigating an allegation that Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth sexually assaulted a waitress at the W Hotel in Washington over the weekend, a source within the police department said.

The incident was first reported by NBC Washington. Charges have yet to be filed.

Washington Redskins senior vice president Tony Wyllie said, "This is the first I have heard about this. We are gathering further information."

Chad Speck, Haynesworth's agent, said in an e-mail: "There seems to be no truth to these allegations and we are currently evaluating the facts and considering our own legal actions against those involved."

The report says Haynesworth, identified as Subject 1, tried to give the waitress his credit card and asked if he could place it in her blouse. The waitress nodded, and Haynesworth placed the card into her blouse and began caressing her breast, the report says.

While Haynesworth is not named in the report, the police department source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Subject 1 referred to the Redskins lineman. The report, which was filed at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, describes the suspect as a "heavy/fat/stocky" black male with a goatee, and about 6-feet-6 or 6-feet-7 tall.

The accusations are the latest negative development for the player.

Haynesworth on Saturday signed a releasable warrant for a charge with assault regarding a road rage incident that took place on Feb. 2. A fellow driver accused Haynesworth of hitting him while he was sitting in his car. Haynesworth will appear in court March 31.

That 4th round pick is looking really good right about now.

I love how Haynesworth's agent assumes since he and Haney were answering to a warrant on Saturday morning that he would never have the time to assault anyone else.

At the same time, let this serve as a PSA for female waitresses, bartenders, bar/club promoters (a.k.a. payrolled hookers), pageant contestants, strippers/exotic dancers, stewardesses (a.k.a. air-waitresses), NFL hostesses (again, payrolled hookers) or employees at in-patient rehab centers....

Everyone knows you're a hooker outside the hotel room and mother Teresa once inside.

When you go with an athlete or celebrity to where their bed is, you're going to end up in it rather than discussing the finer points of international politics.

This is why athletes don't pursue Rhode's Scholars or prospective monastery candidates.

Snyder, Allen and Shanny BEWARE:

This is a set up. Haney hired some stripper from Good Guys to file this complaint with the understanding she will never cooperate with any pending legal proceedings.

This is an effort to trigger the Redskins FO to grant Haney his unconditional release.

A pretty clever move. Give Albert credit ... not many people can say that a sexual misconduct charge IMPROVED their life!!!

"I love how Haynesworth's agent assumes since he and Haney were answering to a warrant on Saturday morning that he would never have the time to assault anyone else."

At no point in his comments did Haynesworth's agent say nor imply that that "since he and Haney were answering to a warrant on Saturday morning that he would never have the time to assault anyone else."

Do you know how to read?

Posted by: Barno1 | February 14, 2011 3:30 PM | Report abuse

I'm definitely no Haynesworth supporter - and never will be - but did any of you actually read the excerpt from the complaint/police report? What waitress in her right mind would say, "yeah, go ahead and stick your credit card down in my shirt?"

The slightest touch makes it easy to cry "sexual assault", even if no assault occurred. I'm not saying this guy is innocent, but there are a LOT of gold diggers in DC...all just looking for an easy payday.

Hey, Carl, squeezing a woman's breast without her consent is sexual assault. Why would you go out on the day you've signed a "releasable warrant" and do something like this? There's a lot of stupid, sickos in DC and Haynesworth is one of them. If he has to pay the woman for this, he asked for it.

Posted by: beep-beep | February 14, 2011 3:44 PM | Report abuse

Haynesworth is my favorite free agent of the Snyder era. Sure, some old school guys like Jeff George -- especially when the Cowboys dragged him down the field by his foot and not a single Redskin came to his aid -- but Mrs. Butterworth is reaching legendary status.

Redskins v. Steelers (a comparison)

Santonio Holmes gets caught up in a weed issue, and the steelers trade their Super Bowl hero with a thought for a 5th rounder.

(And perhaps the trade really hurt last week as the steelers could've used an a-list receiver in the Super Bowl.)

Albert Haynesworth demonstrates utter contempt for team rules and general all around poor public conduct.

And yet, he remains a redskin.

And that, children illustrates the thin difference between the redskins and the steelers.

Hey Beep, i'm with you. If he actually did it, then I don't want to see one of those celebrity "ease jobs" by the courts; same holds true for the alleged assault on that driver. He's an idiot and, if guilty, should get jail time (not just the usual fine that most of these guys end up paying).

But my question is just that the waitress obviously knew who he was, and it's either extraordinarily poor judgment, or shrewd planning on her part.

I'm not sure you could get away with the whole credit card thing in the clevage move at Scores let alone The W. There are some dudes that can get away with such a move, a 6'6 360lb fat POS is not one of them.

Two older FA's are out there for the pickings.

Choose one ('cuz that's all you're allowed):

a. Plaxico Burress

b. Shaun Rogers

c. all of above

Moe rolls with "C" as each guy would be a short term solutions to longer term problems: the need for a big receiver and real NT.

We would not have to burn a draft pick.

You know, one of the cliches up here is "Haynesworth only cares about money." I don't believe it, but if that is true then right this minute Haynesworth is on the phone with Jim Haslett saying "Next year I want to show you what I got. I want to become the best NT in the NFL. I'm going to be at every OTA this off season. I want to play every down at NT. Can we start working on it later today?"

At this point, if the Redskins release him then there are not going to be enough teams interested in him for him to get more than a one-year league minimum contract. He's cooked his goose. His only chance for decent money next year is under his existing Redskin contract. "Nah, this time I mean it Coach Haslett. I've come to love the NT position."

STU--

What is this post about? You seem to have monumentally misread the things I've posted just 15 minutes ago.

1. You fabricate a whole post on a GUESS that I predicted he would be off the team "somewhere between preseason and the first regular season game you said he would be off the team." Wrong. I've never predicted he would be off the team.

2. Then you make this assertion: "Saying that NO team would pick him up is well...just wait and see." Can you show me where I said that? [Let me help you. Here's what I posted: "there are not going to be enough teams interested in him for him to get more than a one-year league minimum contract."]

3. Then, you make this empty offer: "Ill owe you a coke if he is looking for work next year." He's not going to be looking for work next year. But he's going to be making less than he would have made under the contract which the Redskins hold right now. And what I said was that if he's interested in money, then he and his agent are out at the Park meeting with Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan to try to find a way for him to play for the Redskins and under his existing contract.

Man, how this is playing out. Albert Haynesworth despite the significant amount of money he has made in his career, will be broke within the next 3 to 4 years. It's not just if he's guilty and has to pay significant penalties, but its lawyer and court payments that have slowly chipped away at all his finical gain despite if he's guilty or not.

I feel sorry to see everything collapse around him because despite how you may feel about him, he is still a human being. And I wish that he faces a proper and fair day in court, we all as Americans deserve that. And he learns and matures from his actions.

Haynesworth is a fat, spoiled rotten excuse for a sports figure. He took an opportunity lots of young black men dream of and trashed his future. If I were Haynesworth's lawyer, my defense would be that he had to be sleeping. As evidence, I would show that clip from the Philadelphia game where he's sleeping on the field as Mike Vick throws a touchdown.

Also, if the meal included any healthy items, it could not have been ordered by him.

Haynesworth is either an idiot or a genius.

If he's simply an idiot, his self-destruction will soon be complete.

If he's a genius, the Redskin's will take a $32,000,000.00 hit; get nothing in return by releasing him unconditionally; and tell us all "it was for the good of the team."

Either way, he keeps the money while providing very little in return.

Haynesworth's so dumb that when he bought a family dog, the average IQ of the household increased.

So let me get this straight. He wouldn't come within a mile of this area last year for OTAs. But now that football is done, he won't leave?

Albert paid with cash and was simply retrieving his change.

Great point, sad_fan-mad_fan. I feel you.

The way Albert is going these days, he's possibly going to be dealing with the 3-4 much more than he ever thought he would. 3-4 years with time off for good behavior, that is.

I certainly hope he didn't do either this or the road rage assault. But, his whole career and off-field antics sort of leave room for the possibility that this is all true. Dude is a couple of nuggets short of a Happy Meal.

The report, which was filed at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, describes the suspect as a "heavy/fat/stocky" black male with a goatee, and about 6-feet-6 or 6-feet-7 tall.

YEP, THAT'S FAT ALBERT!

The Redskins are expected to continue working with Albert Worthless? Not any chances now. Take whatever you can get for him and get him off the roster. This jerk is bringing down any credibility the Redskins have. We want/need to cut ties and move on, and fast! Sorry that it will be a very expensive situation, but for the sake of any good thing happening in the future, say goodbye to convict Haynesworth, Albert, sex offender, road rage driver, falling down on the field, lazy, overpaid punk that he is. Get out of town, Albert! Oh, yeah, maybe he can't leave just yet, gotta wait on the trial. Just don't ever come back to Redskins Park! I did like the description part "heavy/fat/stocky". Yep, that's him alright.

Beep-Beep, I have become a fan. Seriously- I look more forward to your comments than to the posts they accompany.

Al, oh Al. In this day and age, as a professional athlete you are held to a higher standard than the rest of us. Copping a feel at a ollege keg party is still wrong, but seldom reported as no one knows who anyone is. Problem for you is you stand out like a pink Caddilac in a funeral procession. Seriously. You are guilty until you prove yourself innocent.

I stand by my statement that AH will be in a Redskins uniform next year, at least until the morning of the first game. I thought it would be because Shanny really wants to torch him, but now I believe it is because Goodell will suspend him for 4-6 games for being a complete dumbass. Whether he hit the guy or not, who chaces down another vehicle and then gets out and threatens someone? WFT??? Being sassy to a waitress can be fun- if she is attractive to you why should you not persue her? But there are lines in this world gentlemen and you simply can not go and touch whatever you want. NO.

I just don't know what to think Albert. You're like a dog that keeps chewing shoes no matter how many times you are swatted in the nose with a rolled up newspaper. All puns intended.

My Dad always said: Nothing good happens after midnight. These dumb asses always get in trouble late at night. They need someone to keep them on a curfew.

If the Redskins have no financial commitment to Haynesworthy, why not just cut him and avoid the continued distraction and embarrassment to the organization. At this point, he is likely to be suspended for 6 games by Goodell if there is a season this year and no team would take him of our hands.

Overpaid & lazy. Sound familiar? Wake up football fans, this bozo is making millions of dollars and all he does is miss work, beat people up, and prey on women? 2 words folks. Ghetto clown. Sad how this country rewards scum/garbage.
