Betts Hasn't Worked at Full Speed Yet (Updated)

From Jason La Canfora:

Tailback Ladell Betts said he did drills and ran every day last week as he recovers from a second-degree knee sprain but he said he has not done anything "at full speed."

Betts did not rule out playing against Dallas but said he was not certain whether he would go full speed in practice today or whether his knee "will flare up" when he does go hard.

"It's really day to day at this point," Betts said.

Betts had surgery? Did I miss this? I thought it was only a sprain.

Two areas for the Skins offense.

1. Throw to the RBs
2. Roll the pocket for Campbell on occasion.

The Dallas morning news is saying Felix Jones isn't practicing today and the writer is "worried about this".

Doesn't matter, the Skins need to take care of whoever is on the field, but it's fun to know they are worried about something!

psp, agreed, I think that must be a way he had surgery, and it not get reported.

Getting Betts back is gonna be big...

What about updates on JTaylor, SSprings, and MKelly??

Betts can sit until the Giants, but he MUST PLAY vs. NY.

He did NOT have surgery; he had a second-degree sprain. That was a boo-boo.

Cyn- I thought a first-degree sprain was a boo-boo, and a second-degree sprain was an ouchie.

From the cowboys blog, regarding who the defense should concentrate on stopping:

They might want to keep a safety over the top of Moss, who has four 100-yard performances in six games against the Cowboys since signing with the Redskins. He's torched Dallas for 381 yards on 25 catches in the three meetings during Mr. Fix-It's tenure.

But if they make Moss the priority on regular downs, Portis could have a field day pounding away against a seven-man front, especially since the Cowboys have been gashed for 180 yards and 200 yards on the ground in recent losses.

nowhere in the blurb did it say Betts had surgery....just a sprain. he did have a minor procedure to repair his acute 'fumble-itis.'

I agree, I'd love to Kelly along with CC to work the middle and underneath while they concentrate on stopping Portis and Moss. We need someone to work that soft underbelly while teams concentrate on Moss and Portis.

it earlier said surgery and i quickly changed it, so you're both right.

Forgot to add "Updated." Jasno filed it, I hit publish by mistake as I was calling. I thought I'd lost my mind; I couldn't remember surgery.

Not even the soft underbelly. If Devin Thomas ever gets his head on straight, having someone opposite of Moss make the defense pay deep for 1v1 coverage would be enormous. The Skins really are just that 1 or 2 players away from being the most balanced offense in the league.

welcome to blog journalism....practice field updating coming in five minutes.

Maybe Devin doesn't have the intellect to learn the offense i mean when you got drafted what were you expecting? another example of the "DOOFUSS" boys inability to get up to speed JC needs to have another option other than Moss, while every other rookie wideout(Royal,Jackson, and even Avery) is contributing we're stuck with two goofballs, way to draft Vinny.
