Betts, Others All Okay After Hard-Hitting Practice

The morning practice has ended and it was a full-pad, hard-hitting affair. The team did a lot of short-yardage work, a lot of inside running. Not surprisingly, the players ended up with dings, tweaks, owies and boo-boos, but no serious injuries, according to Coach Jim Zorn. Refreshing to see the cart stay parked, after the way this week has gone.

On an especially hard hit, Ladell Betts was kicked in the thigh. Although he limped to the sidelines and was hunched over for a bit, he walked it off and is fine. Cornelius Griffin says he has some general soreness. He rested for a portion of practice and said he will be back soon.
Malcolm Kelly and Anthony Mix picked up knots in their hamstrings (the dreaded h-word again), but Zorn said those are not serious.

As for Saturday's scrimmage, Zorn said that, as you'd expect, Kelly, Landry, Devin Thomas and Erasmus James will not participate.
