Big Storm A Brewin'

We might be in trouble here, big weather concerns.
Just cut warm-ups off - not that anyone needed to warm up tonight - and ordered all fans to the concourse.
Serious lightning on the way, and not sure how long of a delay it will be, if any, for the kickoff.

Skins say they will have more updates soon.

As for line-ups:
Portis, Samuels, Marcus Washington, Wade and JC all out because of injuries. Kendall is out because he just got here.

Godfrey and Beasley, who also just got here, are dressed for the game, though I doubt either would play much.

Will post more as I get it.

Cheers.

Can you believe how screwed up the front office is? They can't even get a decent meterologist to predict the weather. I guess that's because we used up all our draft picks on stupid trades. Maybe we can pick up a weatherman on Tuesday.

Here at 15th and L, it's very very dark with jagged lightning. And yet, no rain.

Same here in Dupont Circle, Cindy. The wind was blowing earlier but seems to have died down. No rain yet.

The funny thing is I'm in Orlando right now, and the weather is exactly the same. Dark, lightening, and no rain. We got out of the pool about an hour ago because of the thunder and lightening, but nothing else so far. The winds even calmed down.

Seems like I've missed an awful lot over the past several days. No way I can read through all of that stuff.

It would be handy to have a roof you could close eh?

DC United is about to kickoff vs. Toronto. The excitement is palpable. Fox Soccer Channel.

Ahh...how I miss those late summer, thousand degree days, insane humidity, and then a late afternoon opening of the heavens where lightening and hail pummel the earth.

All we have in Portland, is day after day of 85 with the occasional morning fog...

In more important questions, is this game going to be available via satellite or are they going to do like last week and block it out for people out of the mid-atlantic region?

Camille sends these dispatches:
thunder! lightning! lights flickering in stadium!
latest update from pressbox: they're hoping for an 8 p.m. all-clear, which will be followed by a 20 min. warm-up and 8:25 kickoff. rain is pouring down and swirling.

Back edge of this precip has alrady crossed the river. Dry soon.

Another batch of wetness is in Culpeper and headed for Landover around half-time.

If you have a radio that works you have to turn on the radio broadcast, or go to it online. Listening to those old men exclaim with each stroke of lightening that hits, to the power going out in the stadium...

It is both hilarious and a little bit sad to think that this is the best we can do for radio announcers...

I hope Sonny doesn't die from the excitement...
