Brandon Banks remains hospitalized with tube in chest to prevent collapsed lung

By Mike Jones

The injury Washington Redskins kick/punt returner Brandon Banks suffered Saturday during a fight outside a Northwest D.C. nightclub was more serious than the team and his agent have indicated.

Banks remains hospitalized with a knife wound that was significant enough for doctors to insert a tube into his chest, his agent, James Gould, said Tuesday. Redskins head athletic trainer Larry Hess reported through team spokesmanTony Wyllie that the chest tube was inserted to prevent Banks's left lung from collapsing.

Gould originally described Banks's injury as "a superficial wound" and said he was on the verge of being released from the hospital. He initially said Banks would be released Sunday, then on Monday evening said he would be released within 24 hours. On Tuesday, Gould said he would not be released until Wednesday, at the earliest.

When asked about Banks's condition on Monday, Wyllie said only that team doctors had visited him at the hospital and reported that he was doing fine. When initially told Tuesday about the more serious description of the injury released by Banks's agent, Wyllie expressed surprise. "You've got to be kidding me," he said, adding that he would try to get more information.

When he called back, Wyllie said, "Larry Hess and our team doctors have been in constant communication with Brandon's doctors and we are aware of the situation." He said he could not explain the differing descriptions of the severity of Banks's wounds.

"You'll have to talk to James Gould about that," Wyllie said.

"He has a knife wound and a tube in his chest," Gould said. "And with that tube, he's had repeated X-rays. I do know that today's X-rays were good, so I'd expect him to be released very soon. There's no sense in rushing. Taking all of the necessary precautions is very important because knife wounds are dangerous. He was knifed in the chest."

Asked to explain the change in descriptions from Saturday night to today, Gould said only, "I'm not there, so I don't know how deep it was, how many inches it went in, but it was on the left side."

Banks's father Daryle McNair has not returned voicemails left for him on Monday and Tuesday. Two people familiar with the situation, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Banks's family was reluctant to release much information on the injury, which they said may explain the differing reports put forward by the team and the agent.

"He's in good medical hands and we're all anxious for him to get out and resume his life and his football career," Gould said. "We know for sure that when he leaves the hospital - whenever he leaves - he will be 100 percent."

Gould disputed a WRC Channel 4 report that said that Banks, 23, and his friend and fellow stab victim, Christopher Nixon, may have started the fight outside the Park at Fourteenth club early Saturday.

"The bottom line is Brandon and Chris were victims," Gould said. "The police know that, everyone knows that. And I don't appreciate ones that are at the expense of people that were stabbed. The truth of the matter is, they were victims. That's what I was told, and it has been verified."

The police report filed in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia Criminal Division says that, according to footage from a surveillance camera outside the building, Nixon and a man identified as Jason Dacosta Shorter "engaged in a verbal altercation in front of the nightclub." The argument "turned physical," it said.

Shorter "briefly argued with [Nixon and Banks], then pulled a knife from his pocket, opened it and armed himself by holding the knife behind his back," the police report said. Nixon "then struck [Shorter] with his fist."

A bouncer from the nightclub tried to break up the fight and got between Nixon, Banks and Shorter, the report said. Shorter "reached over [the bouncer] and initially attacked [Nixon] with the knife. [Nixon] and [Banks] then became engaged in a physical altercation [with Shorter] in which [Shorter] repeatedly stabbed" the two men.

Banks was stabbed in the upper left abdomen, according to the report, and showed his wound to police on the scene before being taken to the hospital. Nixon suffered multiple stab wounds to his face and upper body, the report said.

Shorter was arrested at the scene and has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. He has been released but remains under supervision, according to police.

Why does the Washington Post ALWAYS have to try to start a controversy? Stop creating news and just report the news. This is a very serious situation, the Post's attempt to make Banks' agent and the team look bad is beyond the pale.

It's a fine line to walk when one balances providing information that the public wants to know and respecting what the family wishes to share.

sounds like the Post is attempting to explain the discrepancies in reporting, not make anyone look bad.

Posted by: whatsnew81 | February 15, 2011 7:09 PM | Report abuse

I don't see any conspiracy by the Post.

I see facts reported as they become available and the Post helping to publicly de-conflict, conflicting reports.

If nothing else, this proves once again that nothing good can come from a professional athlete being at a C.C. night club at 3 AM.

Posted by: nrjlh | February 15, 2011 7:20 PM | Report abuse

Glad to see reporters doing their job instead of accepting the drivel handed out from agents and PR flaks.

As for Wylie "being surprised", I hate that. People up here weren't surprised. A superficial wound doesn't require 3 nights in a hospital.

Posted by: zcezcest1 | February 15, 2011 7:23 PM | Report abuse

Oh yeah, kudos to Sween, who actually thought a collapsed lung as a possibility. To make a call that close with what I'm guessing is very little real info ... impressive.

Posted by: zcezcest1 | February 15, 2011 7:26 PM | Report abuse

[Nixon] and [Banks] then became engaged in a physical altercation [with Shorter] in which [Shorter] repeatedly stabbed" the two men.

So it went from the bouncer having stepped between the warring parties to Shorter doing a sushi number on Nixon and Banks. What good is a bouncer if he backs away when the confrontation gets ugly? If bouncer pay is too low to expect them to be in harm's way then give them tasers. I love it when dudes get tasered. They go completely epileptic on you.

Informative blog entry... here's hoping for a speedy recovery to Banks.

Posted by: cali_snowboarder | February 15, 2011 7:27 PM | Report abuse

Sounds a lot more serious than first reported. I sure hope Mr. Banks makes a full recovery and is able to resume with his normal life activities. I think the Post is doing a good job repoting the facts as they become available.

Utter nonsense. The controversy was started by the agent, the hospital and the team and hte family not being forthcoming about the nature of his injuries.

This is called reporting, it's what newspapers do.

I think Mr. Jones has learned a valuable lesson about sources. You can't believe agents, you can't believe flacks. Verify.

He's done it here. It's a fine piece.

I just hope he's not naive enough to read the crap written here on the blog by the by the "My Redskins Right or Wrong" know-nothings.

Odd that I literally read Banks tweet that night late saying "at club" or something like that and I thought..."well I hope that doesn't end badly"

While I understand that blogs are made for opinion I think we have plenty of them without the writer continuing the hatchet job the last 2 idiots did.

D44...again, it's a blog. The last guys plopped down any crap that any other site put up first or any dishwasher that happened to be unclogging a toilet next to someone taking a crap while incoherently rambling about the Redskins. It seems this guy may just try to verify information before posting it or making something up. I guess maybe he shouldn't have listened to the PR guy or the agent but he couldn't really just go barging into the guys hospital room. I'm pretty sure if you go back and read it he never claimed that Banks's friend did NOT throw the first punch. In fact, I remember him reporting that the guy pulled a knife and Banks's friend then hit him...maybe I'm misremembering but more than likely you are creating fire where there was no smoke.

Wow. This team really could use some good news. Hopefully, that will be Banks being released tomorrow. I had a friend that was hospitalized and had a tube inserted into his lung as a precaution. It doesn't necessarily mean things have turned serious.

It's probably too early to tell, but I kind of like M. Jones so far. He already blows Reid out of the water in terms of keeping people informed. But I'm sure the WaPo will force him to do more gossip stories as time goes along.

BS. The only light BB has been cast in is young and dumb at this point. None of us have completely dodged that light I'm sure. I know I haven't. AH consistently does sh!t that proves he's a turd. The stomping on a players head (even though it was a puke) and constantly running into the law proves that. Right now he and BB shouldn't even be in the same sentence. I feel for Banks and wish him a fast and speedy recovery. That being said, I dont care about the video tapes and who said what happened. Banks needs to not put himself in the situation he did. At the end of the day, that is what matters. He is young, so chances are he will find himself at random clubs at the early hours in the morning, but lets be serious, when has late night club visits turned out well for NFL players (Plax,Vince Young, Vick, Roethlisberger, nuff said). Brandon Banks is the lightest player in the NFL around 150 lbs. I'm an inch taller than him and 20lbs heavier, which at 5-7 176 is nowhere far from overwieght. What I'm getting at is, aside from his speed and agility at kick returns, he does'nt offer much else when it comes to the NFL. As he gets older and his speed decreases, he wont have anything else to offer as he becomes as worthless at punt returns as Randal El, however 50 lbs lighter. Banks...I know you're young and going out to clubs is something that is popular to do at your age, but you have a career to focus on and each action you make needs to have that on your mind. How's that potential collapsed lung and tub in your chest gonna help your speed and agility? doubt it'll help! no excuses, act right. We have our hands full with Alby!

AC will be cut. We can't trade him. He has a no trade clause in his contract.

AH will be cut. No one will trade for him to pay him what's in his contract. He will not have many teams interested in him even at the vet. minimum.

I think this weirdness may come from two sources: the family trying to downplay the injury and that banks wasn't an innocent victim here. His agent keeps calling him a victim (which he was...of a stabbing) but that doesn't mean banks didn't start the whole thing.

You must have missed my post on AC earlier. In an interview in January he said that if the Redskins "didn't pay him the roster option bonus" he would become a UFA. He will not be traded, he won't have to be cut. We just don't give him any more money and he goes away.

The Post, instead of focusing solely on Banks' condition, are obssessed with showing some discrepancies in statements by the Skins and the agent. It doesn't ever occur to the Post that the condition changed. Posters on here who automatically assume the agent or the team "weren't forthcoming" are absolute idiots. Why would anyone intentionally mislead the press about something this serious? That makes zero sense whatsoever. Miscommunication? Maybe. Condition changing? Maybe. Intentionally misleading the press? Zero chance.

It's hilarious how naive so many of you are when it comes to giving the WaPost the benefit of the doubt. They are clearly trying to start a controversy here where there is none. This is their m.o. but some people just have a knee jerk defense of the Post no matter how despicable their behavior as journalists.

I'm sure they leave the club wiser (smelling of alcohol and hooker spit). really? are you honestly gonna debate me on this one? When you combine NFL, NBA and MLB, good god where do we end with the situations that have happened??? I'm not saying a player hasent gone out for a drink, and hopefully took a cab back and at the end of the night was a very smart about the whole night. All I'm saying is that the best things tend not to happen at "early hours" at clubs, and with the end story of how this happened, he put himself in the wrong situation at the wrong time and that can't be argued. he was stabbed. he can be the victim all he wants, but he was outside, having an arguement with someone at early morning hours (im sure they were both sober).

This news broke on twitter early as well as the video tape showing that Banks and his buddy instigated the fight as well as his buddy throwing the first punch. This has been poorly reported from the "superficial wounds" to the actual events.

Posted by: Diesel44 | February 15, 2011 8:10 PM

Agreed Diesel.. The Assailant is FREE. It would appear that says it all..

Nixon threw the first punch while Shorter had already taken out the knife and then held it behind his back, according to the video. Guess Nixon felt "brave" with Banks next to him or didnt see the knife. Nonetheless, if someone attacks you, vis a vis the "first punch". You have a right to defend yourself. If you are armed and afraid for your life, you use it.
Again, this might be why this dude is "free".

Interesting legal issue here.. The knife was visible (ie. no longer concealed) when Nixon threw the first punch. Shorter might get a slap on the wrist for armed self defense.. whereas the ones who threw the first punches could be in assault trouble....
Lawyers may be vying to represent Shorter...

You appear to have it backwards. If dude pulled a knife and then Nixon hit him, well, it seems to me that Nixon was trying to defend him self before getting stuck.

erleach that's what BB did. That's how he carried himself. I've been in many a clubs with pro athletes, that can in, had a good time and left without incident. I think it's a little much to suggest that athletes can't attend an night club, or they have to be out by midnight to avoid trouble. I've seen people get into altercations over a pool table at 11pm. I guess sports bar are another no fun zone for athletes.

Cell phone video of the fight that preceded the stabbing of Redskins player Brandon Banks appears to tell a different story about what happened than what has been reported so far.

Sign in/ReplyView all »Share4(Photo: Associated Press)
ABC7 has viewed the video and it appears to show Banks starting the fight which led to the stabbing of him and his friend.

The video appears to show the 5-foot 7-inch Banks throwing the first punch.

The cell phone video captured events in front of The Park nightclub about 3 a.m. Saturday.

It shows the man on the receiving end of Banks' fist pulling out what looks like a knife and waving it back and forth violently. In the ensuing melee you only see a number of people rush toward the man.

Police have charged 24-year-old Jason Shorter in connection with the stabbing of Banks and his friend.

In my experience the only thing that comes from being out that late are:

1. A hangover
2. A black eye
3. A hippo in your bed

None of these are good.

Now, if I am a professional athlete I imagine it's easy to get girls...I mean that's why you're at the club anyway right?

I would go to Whole Foods and pick up hot chicks shopping for organic vegetables. Then I would bring them back to my lavish Georgetown home, via my German luxury sedan, then gargle diarrhea with them.

Oh lord here we go with Barno1 again! look at the situation!!!! The post reported what it was told. over the weekend we were lead the believe is was a very minor injury and that his friend was who was in concern and that banks would be released. we have the facts that he has a tube in his chest to prevent a collapsed lung! i got it now, that's a bit more serious! So thank you post for exploring the reason why the spokes people kept this from us loyal followers! at this point I have the facts and I want to know more. What do you want to be posted? here you go, write how your post would be, I'm ready!

@TWISI

I feel you are taking a broad/general statement of mine and making it specific. I go to bars and clubs all the time and make it home fine without incendent. The point I was making you clarly paraphrased and/or didnt get, was that if you do, be aware of the results. I'ts 2am, 3am, the chances of bad things happening increase. obviously he and his friend were the victims, but there must be "no way that either two ever did anything at 3am to instigate or provoke the assaultant". just a heads up the " " indicates sarcasim. There is going out for drinks, but then there are stories where guns and knives are involved in sketchy situations. You be the judge. Again as I said in the earlier post, i wish him a fast and speedy recovery, but I hope a lesson is learned on his part.

Obviously we learned more about his condition 3 days later, I believe more is unsaid about his involvment we dont know about. does it deserve him being stabbed? Absolutley not, never in a million years, but he might not be as innocent as we were first informed. I thought so, too, from the headline..

It would appear the charges were changed after the surveillance video was reviewed by prosecutors...

From the City Paper...

"Cops originally arrested Shorter on assault with the intent to kill, but prosecutors filed the lesser charge of assault with a deadly weapon. That Nixon initiated the physical part of the altercation could be a reason why the lesser charge was filed. William Miller, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office, says the office reviews every case in order to decide what charges will be first presented to the court."

At least the NFL laundry I root for isnt boring in the offseason. Last in the NFC East, First in the Police Crime Reports.

The video will be the final say in this matter.

However self-defense is different in every state. For instance,in some states, you can't shoot someone coming into your house if they are not armed.

This all depends on who the court deems was in more danger.

It's hard to say who was the aggressor. But if the dude pulled a knife, then got punched in the face. The one holding the knife is the aggressor. If he pulled the knife after being struck, the other guy is the aggressor.

The video will show the truth.

I just hope that our little kick returner is ok.

That was the point I was attempting to make to anygiven. Also, in Georgia you are free to shoot and kill anyone coming into your house without permission and they don't have to be armed. A couple cops in Savannah made very clear that I was allowed to shoot a certain person that kept trying to break into the house. I won't tell you how the whole situation ended.

erleach I think I understand the point you're trying to make, I'm not totally buying it. Let's step away from the bar scene at 2 or 3 in the morning. Let's take a look at gun ownership. By your logic, one could argue that the chances of bad things happening to pro athletes increases with ownership. You got plax, you got Chris Williams, you got Sean Rogers, you got Chris Henry etc... to build the argument. At the end of the, it's up to the individual to make the right choices. Like you inferred, BB and friend were probably a little too intoxicated and a little to immature to handle that situation correctly. That's the life lesson IMO. Like I said, I think I know what you're saying, I just don't agree.

Holy crap - the Skins can't even get this right. How in the world was Tony Wylie named NFL PR man of the year three or four times? I'm in the PR business and I'm not impressed with this guy at all - first, letting the AH and McNabb situations get out control, then suggesting Snyder sue over the Washington City Paper and now this...good grief.

Prayers for BB, by the way. Hope he makes a complete recovery soon.

I am mystified by what I'm seeing here...a guy gets stabbed and it's HIS fault? Really? Based on the information released (and I'm sure the story will change a couple more times before it's all said and done), at worst Banks was with the guy that started it. And some jerk who's probably a career turd shanks 'em and he's off the hook because he was provoked? WTF happened to being accountable for your own actions?

I mean, really...this is as misguided and rooted in bias as the foolishness NYPD was spouting off yesterday about Sean Taylor...being black and being in the wrong place at the wrong time doesn't equate being in the wrong...

Posted by: brownwood26 | February 16, 2011 5:55 AM

None of us has seen the videos or talked to anyone who was there. So we don't know what happened and shouldn't be passing judgment. But if two guys attack a third and he defends himself with a knife, then I would be able to see why the two attackers are at fault. I just don't know how it went down, though.

Posted by: beep-beep | February 16, 2011 6:16 AM | Report abuse

That's my point, Beep...I'm assuming since there's not one verified and confirmed account of what went down that night, that the investigation hasn't been completed...or at least there's still some critical details floating around out there. I just don't see where anyone can make the assertion that BB is a turd or that he somehow had it coming to him based on this single occurence that nobody has firm details on.

Besides...since when does throwing a punch equate to stabbing someone to within an inch of his life? Anyone stop to think that if someone is walking around with a concealed weapon that they just might be up to no good?

I've never had to use it, but it's here just in case two of them -- or one and his sock puppet -- jump me. (I've also concealed a roll of toilet paper in case poopy comes after me.)

Yes, he should have.

Brandon Banks has a unique and specific skill which could make him money for multiple NFL seasons.

Friends come and go like the wind, opportunity doesn't.

Learning to separate friendship from the need to take care of one's own needs is why so many pro 'ballas stay in and out of trouble: they're thinking and acting 'hood when they've also got money, power, and NFL respect.

Hopefully, Mr. Banks is thinking long and hard about the NFL career--and his life--that defending a friend might have jeopardized.

Only a partial co-sign here...if he's a hanger-on or a drinking buddy, then I could see ditchin' his ass. But if that's a lifelong friend or a cousin, then some things mean more than your career.

That's why I'm not ready to call this a boneheaded move on Banks' part...we still don't know his relationship to his "friend" nor do we know the full extent of his involvement. Hell, there's still a cloud of doubt over who instigated the whole thing.

That's why I'm inclined to believe Banks was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. For those of us who have attended clubs in the wee hours of the morning at age 23, it's by the grace of God that some of us don't tell a similar tale...

Right answer, wrong reason.

The guy is described as "a lifelong friend." Those are the ones that don't come and go like the wind.

He should have stayed out because he wasn't any help to his friend. The bouncer was. That's the bouncer's job, not Banks's. Banks knows nothing about how to disarm someone with a knife. Bouncers do that sort of stuff six nights a week. They're professionals.

Moe, that's a little naive, don't you think? I mean, did you and your friends have that sort of clarity at 23? Fans lose sight of the fact that these are kids out there with high-profile jobs. I'm all for holding them to a higher standard, but if you think they're going to make sound decisions 24/7 at age 23, you're in for a world of disappointment.

Just like nobody thinks they're going to crash when they get into their car, or that they'll get mugged when they walk down a dark city street, nobody thinks they're gonna get shanked simply hanging out at a club. Multiply that lack of awareness by ten when referencing a 23 year-old athlete with an aura of invincibility...

Here is what's painfully clear. If Brandon and his friend don't clown a guy for wearing all white and then instigate and then BB/friend throw the first punch then neither is in the hospital. They're just lucky that dude in all white wasn't carrying a gun.

What should be hated is the fact the some people don't know who to go out and have a good time with starting trouble. Although BB/friend showed up too late to gain entrance in the Park and instead of hanging around outside...They SHOULD have gone home.

...that's a little naive, don't you think? I mean, did you and your friends have that sort of clarity at 23?

Yes, my close friends at age 23 where that clear-minded, and I'm not talking smack.

I never went to house parties as a teenager.

Why?: my homeboys said that smart dudes like me didn't need to be in that scene.

At 22, a very close friend suggested I move to Florida because I was starting to 'post up' with him out in the streets late at night.

I went into a massage parlor/bordello once to retrieve a friend whose crying-angry wife waited outside in the parking lot.

I told my friend, "Hey, you're messing up. You don't need to be coming to these kinda places."

BB needs friends who are aware of his potential and act more like guardian angels than friends, IMO.

Once he recovers from this--and he will--he'll be a better person.

And let's hope he finds real friends and not homeboys.

Moe, consider yourself richly blessed, my friend. Because having that sort of clarity and friends with the same is extremely rare. Hell, I'm 31 and I have maybe one or two friends I can say are like that. To have friends like that at 23 is definitely the exception and not the rule.

That said, it's unfair to expect him to sniff out potential danger in a spot where a lot of times there is none. It's not like he was partying in Southeast or something...as I understand it, this club is in NW. I've been to my fair share of clubs in and around DC, and I've never been in a fight or other altercation, never witnessed one, and in the 3 weeks I was a bouncer at a joint in Bethesda never had to break anything up. Under normal circumstances, you only find trouble in a place like that if you're looking for it...

Wrong. The knife was behind his back and was used after he was hit. Do think there are rules in a fight outside of a club?

The reason Shorter has been released is because he wasn't the instigator. I think he should be in jail but how is he to know what's in BB/friends pocket? Why wait for that to come out?

I guarantee that there is a handful of people at the Park that were coming out of those doors that if BB/friend would have pulled the same act with...they would have been shot.

Redskins in negotiations with Patriots for Logan Mankins

After watching their quarterbacks get pounded all season long, Mike Shanahan, and the Washington Redskins have decided that they need to make a move to correct this problem, and that the draft is not the place to do it. We here at PFT are hearing that, the Redskins will give up a 2nd round pick this year, as well as a 4th round pick next year, in exchange for the Pro-Bowl Guard. We're also hearing that Mankins has a contract offer on the table, along the lines of 5 years, 65 million dollars. Stay tuned as we get more on this one...

stu27- The Park is nice place. But to think that there isn't at least a few people carrying guns at 3am in DC then that's naive.

Cops originally arrested Shorter on assault with the intent to kill, but prosecutors filed the lesser charge of assault with a deadly weapon. That Nixon initiated the physical part of the altercation could be a reason why the lesser charge was filed. William Miller, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office, says the office reviews every case in order to decide what charges will be first presented to the court. "In this case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office charged Mr. Shorter with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Banks and Nixon could also be charged if investigators determined they caused the incident.

And with that I'm done. Get well Banks, pick your friends better, and continue to flip the field for us.

At which point Banks or Nixon throws the first punch and Shorter responds pulling out the knife.

Cops file attempted murder charges. Prosectors drop those charges after viewing the video.
Draw your own conclusion.. The dude would be in jail if prosecutors thought he was a danger to the community. I dont believe he even had to post bail.

ummmm the silence on Banks, today, at the WashPost and Redskins.Com is deafening... Considering all the newswires were lighting it up last night (and still are.. CBSSports and ABC) stating that the Nixon/Banks party may of actually instigated the melee.
Any reference at all to the Banks incident and his condition seems to of disappeared completely from Redskins.Com. Not that I thought the Snyder's website would ever objectively report anything.
Interesting that, TWO days ago, the City Paper (A Snyder favorite) was stating that the video shows Nixon threw the first punch.

Some of you are funny, but others like the two useless nitwits that start posting and stop posting at the same time of day, they are not even close. I would say a waste of oxygen is more appropriate. MColeman51, did I pass my spelling and grammar test ? You critical fool.

So you just get a kick out of making yourself look stupid? That's cool, different strokes for different folks I guess. Have fun with that.

hey flip/flop.. if your sadistic form of entertainment is trolling fan boards and posting derisive comments to ps-s off the posters... go visit the Eagles or Giants board.
Skins fans have already been pummeled and bludgeoned by Snyder for 12 years.. we're beyond caring.. Its like running someone over and then backing up.. no need.

So, find another online community to waste your time (not ours) in your purient pursuit of pleasure.

When I talk through my colon, it mostly sounds like this:

PTHHSHSHTHTHPPPPTT FRAAARP PHTTHPTHTP.

...which, coinicidentally, sounds the same as Aguilera's National Antherm.

rok rok AUN!

Hey Sock Puppet Gang...the guy who calls you idiots and morons just typed that Shanahan was desperate and "excepted" the Redskins' head coaching job.

It's right there on the tee for you. What'cha got?

First of all, you have to be more specific, lots of people call us idiot and morons everyday, water off a duck's back.

Secondly, I'm ignoring him because he is boring to schtick on. I'll pull a line from beep:

"His schtick is weak, do you want fries with that?"

I've never corrected another poster's grammar or spelling before. I made an "exception" for the guy whose entire contribution to RI is calling other Redskins fans "fools".

Just keep typing. The unintentional comedy of everything you type is just what we need to while away the slow news days of February.

...ya gotta give Charlie Sheen credit.

Watson: South America for 1000, Moe.

Moe: I am home to Rio and the Amazon.

Charlie Sheen: What is Columbia?

Moe: Sorry.

Ken Jennings: What is Brazil?

Moe: Correct.

Ken Jennings: Sporting events for 500, Moe.

Moe: Soccer players and singers need this to perform.

Charlie Sheen: What are 'white lines'?

Moe: Sorry.

Watson: What is 'pitch'?

Moe: Correct.

Watson: Billards for 2000.

Moe: I am the one ball you do not want to be behind of.

Charlie Sheen: What is the '8-ball'?

Moe: Correct.

Somehow, I knew you'd get that one right.

Not sure why people continue to acknowledge the waste of spooge that is flip_flop/nerdinthePDX. The guy is obviously a shut in begging for attention through his one connection to the outside world. ITA.
