Brennan Surgery Successful

Quarterback Colt Brennan underwent successful surgery this week in Colorado to repair a torn left labrum in his hip and is expected to be back in the area today. Redskins Coach Jim Zorn said Brennan, who was placed on injured reserves two weeks ago, likely will be in attendance at Sunday's home opener against the Rams.

The surgery was similar to the one Brennan underwent prior to the 2008 season on his right hip, Zorn said. He said doctors confirmed that the injury is what led to the hamstring problems that bothered Brennan late in training camp.

Zorn said he still expects that Brennan will need at least three months of recovery time but doesn't expect the second-year quarterback out of Hawaii to be a stranger around Redskins Park.

"He's kind of a gym rat, so he's going to be around," Zorn said. "It's not like, 'OK, see you guys in the summer.' He'll be around."

Brennan hurt his hip in the preseason opener at Baltimore and consequentially dealt with strained hamstrings during the preseason, which prompted coaches to place him on injured reserve the day before final roster cuts.

Hope you heal quickly and completely, Colt. It'll help you with your career at UPS.

Moe,

"It's funny how Dixon gets cut, plays for the iggles (well)"

how many tackles did he have for the eagles?

How is this surgery going to help him release a ball higher then his shoulder?

At least he seems to have a valid excuse for looking so rough this preseason, but TWO hip surgeries? Makes you wonder if he'll ever hold up. What is he, like 85 years old?

...and for head coach ... and this is the hardest part ... but I had lots of reasons ... Troy Aikman.

Crack-smoking is what this is Sween, we already tried the old Cowboy thing with Norv and look how that turned out. Seriously though, I'll try and find your post and read it and then reply with a real answer.

You didn't know? During the surgery, the installed the ACME BX35 Shoulder Extender, which allows Colt to vary the height that he throws the bill from - it has settings that range from Muggsy Bogues to Manute Bol, depending on how much air he wants to get under the ball.

"..how many tackles did he have for the eagles?"

From what I saw in the Carolina game, he didn't make a lot of tackles.

He just gobbled up space and forced D Williams and the other panthas tailback to bounce an number of plays to the outside: that's what Prince Al did for us Sunday...

....which means he still had more time on the field than the guy the skins kept, but didn't dress while Prince Al was gasping for air--and a snack.

"Brennan Surgery Successful"

Great!!!

Now prehaps he'll somehow surgically remove him from discussion in the blog.

The dude hasn't played, won't play, and when he has, proven why the Western Athletic Conference is what it is: WAC(K).

Moe,

I think we all need to get off our obsession with what other teams' FO's are doing. I mean just bc the Eagles have a great coach, team continuity and go deep in the playoffs every year doesn't make them better than the Redskins.

Posted by: Kenbeatrizz | September 18, 2009 2:14 PM | Report abuse

Actually, what bothers me is that Cam Cameron is better than Jim Zorn as an offensive mind. By a mile.

It bothers me that you think Flacco is better even though he only threw 1 more TD last year and 8 more INTs. He also threw for less yards and had a lower completion percentage. Now this year he has better stats but I hope you don't think that playing the Giants D is comparable to playing the Chiefs D.

Well, it was in the pelvic area, and the surgeon was a gynocologist.

Is it just me or does Colt's helmet come off during a tackle more than any player i have ever seen.
