Orakpo unconcerned about sprained left ankle

After spraining his ankle late during Friday's practice, Redskins second-year linebacker Brian Orakpo did not participate fully in Saturday's practice at minicamp.
Orakpo said he isn't sure how he sprained his left ankle but did not seem concerned.

"I just had a little minor injury yesterday towards the end...but it's cool," he said. "Basically just wanted to take the day off, really, just get some more rest."

Orakpo didn't run very much, and when he tried jogging between fields as the defensive linemen headed to do drills, he limped noticeably. The team's 2009 first-round pick said he would likely continue to rest the ankle.

"We'll get back on it when the offseason [workouts] starts," he said. "We'll probably take the weekend off and just get some more rest."

scamp -- You out on the left coast with the family and living in the new house now?

In the process of moving. We just got back to Ohio so we could pack up the house. We were out there all last week taking care of the job situation, finding day care, etc etc.

Hey Everyone,
Yesterday a suggestion was posted regarding what the new uniforms will look like.

Below is a picture of Bobby Mitchell on the Skins back in the late 60's. I would prefer this look to the mustard pants of the George Allen days. How about you guys?

ok, that's a trifecta for the day... calling it quits on that.

nice to have some refreshes, but kinda hard to maintain any dialogue.

Jason Reid is supposed to be back from vacation but every post since the Haynesworth clunker has been signed by Paul Tenorio, Rick Maese or Barry Svrluga. What do you think that means? Reid had his knee scoped? He sprained his ankle? He's being held out of minicamp because they're trying to trade him and don't want him injured?

Mulch 'em? Isn't this the time of year to spread cow manure over them? Or is "mulch" a polite term for what you're really doing?

re moss's surgery:
how do we know he didn't do it months ago? all we've read here is that it happened during the offseason.

Posted by: walter-in-fallschurch | May 8, 2010 4:27 PM |

Actually, I believe if you read closely it says he has been rehabbing for 3 months.

scampbell1975,
i saw shanny's quote about that, but kind of originally took it to mean they've been trying to rehab it w/o resorting to surgery, but i see how it could be taken either way.

so, why'd we not hear anything about this during last month's minicamp? (too much albert haynesworth no news to "report"?)

just trying to be polite... the older calf is watching something involving power tools on PBS, but then it's onward to the great outdoors of the back yard.

and for those of you that complain about no news...

sprained ankle in mini-camp sets a new baseline. henceforth, all claims about irrelevance should be judged against this.

catch you cows later.

You don't see Haynesworth getting any sprained ankles - do your thing Albert, do what you want to do.
