Brunch-time reading: Tweets and state of the Giants

@LFletcher59 Woke up this morning to a snow storm....thought I was back in Buffalo.

@rockym52 Big big snow today....ime to get my winter x-games on !!!!!!

The view from New York

Aaron Ross may be unable to play for the Giants on Monday night; he has a hamstring injury, Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News reports. However, Pat Hanlon of the Giants tweets that he is back at practice today. Corey Webster, however, appears likely to be out. ... Defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan will face his own three-and-out if the Giants don't play better over the final games and advance to the playoffs, Ian O'Connor writes.

Storm is doing snarly things

The Chicago Bears are having trouble getting to Baltimore for tomorrow's game; it had already been moved from 1 p.m. to 4:15. The Falcons left a few hours early for New York and were "hoping to land," which, in my book, is right up there with taking off and maintaining cruising speed.

Snyder haters (you know who you are) can take some satisfaction from a story in today's Wall Street Journal.

When Six Flags declared bankruptcy, the shareholders lost control of the company to the debt holders. Snyder had put together a package under which he would still be Chairman of the Board as the debt holders took control of the company. Apparently the biggest debt holder balked and it wants to throw Snyder out completely. Not only would he not be Chairman of the Board, he wouldn't even have a seat on the board. The article estimates that Snyder and his investment partners (Cerrato was one) lost about $50 million. As one analyst said, "They lost a bunch of money. It's nothing to brag about."

Good news for Redskins fans? Not at all. He has more time now to run the show:

"A person close to Mr. Snyder said he would 'seriously consider' remaining board chairman if asked, but remains torn on continuing the role. Lately he has been focused on the Redskins, having just replaced his top personnel executive amid a disappointing season."

According to ESPN, Chad Ochocinco wants to wear Chris Henry's jersey this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. This of course would go against the NFL's uniform regulations. The Players Association has agreed to pay any fines accrued by Ochocinco should he choose to dress in Henry's jersey on Sunday. Ochocinco was seen practicing in Henry's jersey this week.

I think the league should let Chad "get away" with this one.

Cindy, how's the hole in the house. You picked a great time for that!

And do you think my newspaper is out there somewhere? I'd need a stick of dynamite to find it.

Moe, its 68 here on Oahu, too. We're all wearing long pants and hoodies, its fricking cold. And to top it all off, the North wind is ruining the surf. Its terrible.

someone asked on the prior link,

httr = hail to the redskins, although the pc crowds want to change the name "redskins" so it's anyones guess as to the shelf life of httr.

GBN:

Rutgers...junior LT Anthony Davis (#75, 6-5, 325) has as much upside as any prospect at the position in the country. Davis is a prototype ‘dancing bear’ type with the size, strength and intensity to be a dominating run blocker, while also possessing the long arms and quick feet to be a shut-down pass protector.

On tv tonight at the St Petersburg bow.

Fresno State junior RB Ryan Mathews (#21, 5-10, 210) just may have been the most productive back in the country. Indeed, Mathews ran for almost 1,700 yards this fall, along the way averaging 6.8 yards per carry and scoring 17 TDs.

On tv at 4:30 in the New Mexico Bowl.

Hey Bruce, time to ditch these tired Indian Head uniforms man. The arrowhead uniforms look so much better - with white shoes. Shanahan didn't win his superbowls until after the Broncos retired the 1980's look.

Yes because we know Chad wouldn't be doing it to promote himself. He may be heartbroken, but why not donate what his fine would be to the widow, or set up a turst fund for the kids Anonymously.

I'd keep him off the field, except that would be MORe pub for him. Great player, but not a great TEAM player.

It was the UNIs? Dang, I thought it was the line, the D and a running attack to make Elway more effective. If all the redskins have to do is change the uniforms, then I'm booking next year's SB travel arrangements NOW!
