Maybe someone can explain it to me...

Why are we crying a river for Jim Zorn...a week ago he was crucified by fans and media for his playcalling. We are 2-4 and in a disasatous situation. I may be alone on this but, I'm curious to see what can be done different. Yes, the whole thing needs to be blown up, but you can't do it mid season.

I don't understand why any player would be upset with any changes or bichin to the media about anything. They STINK and no one's job should be safe!

The "Poor Jim Zorn" thing is tired at this point. He can quit anytime he wants. He keeps going and collecting paychecks that most only dream about so let's just stop with the foolishness.

What exactly has Campbell done to earn the starter's job this week?

He certainly has not played any better than Collins -- either during the game or during practice this week -- or at any other time during this long and forgetable season thus far.

I'd say keep JC on the bench until we have a fair reason to replace Collins. And in the meantime, let Collins take some snaps with the first unit and blow the rust off his game.

By the coach's own admission, Collins is clearly better at making his reads and his throws -- and frankly, I've yet to be convinced that he's any less mobile than the mr. dithering indecisive.

That is unless, of course, there's another agenda in play here -- besides winning the game.

So why exactly do we have an offensive coordinator if he isn't involved in play calling, personnel decisions, etc. This entire staffing structure is backwards. Why don't Vinny and Dan just start coaching, because the staff are just their pawns and it really shows. No one has a backbone to stand up for some common sense.

Posted by: ronnieb1212 | October 20, 2009 7:37 AM | Report abuse

They can't do anything until the end of the season, when it comes to replacing the GM (Lord please), or changing the players.

Who really gives a sh_t who is calling the plays, they can't score so what difference does it make if Sherm Lewis calls the plays, or Flounder calls the plays it can't get anyworse.

We all know the owner is the problem, allthough it's nice to read it 1000 times a day up here.

There is only one way Snyder can fix this, short of selling the team which isn't going to happen. He has to fire Vinny at the end of the year.

"He certainly has not played any better than Collins -- either during the game or during practice this week -- or at any other time during this long and forgetable season thus far."

And exactly how would you know this? Practices to the public are non-existent at this point in the season.

And get off the Collins has performed better than Campbell bulls***. All Collins did that was special when he came into the game was throw a nice deep ball to Moss.

Campbell has done that on a few occasions.

Campbell also threw for 340+ against Detroit. So please s***can the Collins is better than Campbell garbage.

Both of them suck, so there.

Until the 'skins get a legit GM, young, mauling, and talented offensive linemen, and a decent QB, you're going to get the same craptastic performance we've all been subject to this season.

Cut out the Campbell is better than Collins crap. And I don't know what the hell you're trying to imply with this:

"That is unless, of course, there's another agenda in play here -- besides winning the game."

Leave it to a dumb ass such as yourself to play the race card against Campbell, who is black, whose coaching staff is majority white, whose front office personnel is majority white.

Just STFU already and stand your dumb ass in the corner!

Zorn hired the OC because they are friends, he was never hired with the intention of calling plays. That is why they are giving the job to Lewis because if you give it to one of Zorn's guys he will just keep making the calls.

Posted by: FedorEm | October 20, 2009 8:20 AM | Report abuse

Red:

The only thing I'm suggesting is that if you start Collins -- after a week of practice witht he first team -- you just might have a fair chance of seeing the possibility of winning. Granted, he's no run and gun style QB -- but he does do the basics and fundamentals -- like look around the field, make his reads, find the open receiver, complete his passes and the like -- better than any other QB on this team.

But if you start Campbell -- all you get is another week of finger pointing, excuses and other apologetics -- and a near certainty of losing yet again.

So what the agenda here -- win or lose?

Just took a look at the team stats, and its just a cluster-bleep down the line. Portis is once again getting way too many carries, 2nd leading rusher is JC, as I stated earlier KR and PR, throwing to someone other than Cooley or Moss. I mean, for JZ to come out and say that the scheme is good, is just luda to me. The scheme sucks, you're ability to coach sucks.

Belichick benched/healthy scratched Adalius Thomas, and that team is 4-2. Who is JZ gonna bench?? Whose job is up for grabs??

If we didn't have Rock returning kickoffs then we wouldn't be able to justify keeping five running backs on the roster (and only using two as running backs). We could use that extra roster space for an offensive tackle, but Vinny wouldn't want to do something that makes that much sense.

Thought of the day: Shanahan recommended Anthony Alridge, who tried out for Denver and then got injured. Do you think the team made a promise to Mikey to keep the guy around until Shanahan takes over the team? It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but why keep a guy around that you don't use?

I'm kinda pissed about that snake Snyderatto, today because of Lewis.

Lewis was supposed to be a position expert, he was qualified to help our new receivers. We desperately need that. Instead the players haven't even talked to him in 2 weeks? Instead he's just taking notes and watching film? Since day 1 Snyderatto ALREADY PLANNED for Lewis to be taking over, he never planned for Lewis to be spending his time coaching our WRs or improving our running game.

So for the billionth time, we've acquired some potential talent and misused what they would be best at. Disgusting.

we have 5 rb on the roster, but in reality we only use 1 of them...betts has 11 carries, which is laughable, why bother keeping ANY RB on the roster, if you don't use them.

The real problem with the skins is they have no back bone. This is the same problem Zorn has....he should have told Cerrato to get the **** out of his office and that he's calling the plays. Instead he gave in because he's soft just like this team!
I hate to say that but its true. The skins need some one with a little attitude, or swagger as they like to say these days. That is what we miss in ST21 so bad. I'd be happy if Haynesworth was stepping on someones face! Not a single person on offense will stay in bounds just to hit a defender. CP might try, but when was the last time you saw him win a collision? Defense is worse. Nobody fears our defense. Our biggest hitter on D is out of control and misses 99% of the time!
We need a bad boy coach who will come in and change the whole attitude. Of all the big names out there Cowher is the only one who could fix this.

the entire situation with the redskins could have been avoided. History repeats itself and we are looking at Peter Angelos the second coming. We as fans should have seen this through his pattern of firing those that stood up to him (davey Johnson) and bringing in high priced busts that are on the books and affecting the team years after they are done playing(albert belle). Should we be surprised when this egomainiac that has surrounded himself with yes men that are afraid to stand up to him has ruined a once beloved team. The only person in this town that can be truly happy is Ted Leonsis as this town Rocks the Red and is slowly leaving the Burgandy and Gold to fight with the Wizards for the second place status. At least Snyder has aonther year or two before he has to worry about coming in behind the Nationals.

Campbell should start because ALL HOPE SHOULD DIE. So that we can learn what everyone else in the league knows: JC should be holding a clipboard every Sun until the end of his career.

How far will Bradford fall with his current shoulder issues? Enough to get a Tackle (with our top 5 pick) and trade up to get him? It is already a long season.

Eagles 31, 'Skins 6. We're on our way to 3-13. It was said before, wasted timeouts and delay of game penalities. No offense because they have no O Line.

This team is the biggest joke in DC sports history.

The esprit de corps on the team is gone. These guys will go through the motions for the remaining 10 games.

There will be a mass exodus of those players who are free agents at the end of the year, including those with some talent.

The only hope for improvment is for Snyder to give up control, but that will not happen in my lifetime. The incompetence of Snyder and Cerrato has finally caught up with them.

Zorn is a complete moron and to say he is not the problem is really not understanding the dynamic of the Skins. Yes, Snyder is the problem as well, but it is not like the whole world does not know how Snyder handles the team and coaches. Zorn makes awful decisions, his play calling is the laughing stock of the league, and he stands on the sideline with the same puzzled stupid look every week when he gets the team in the same scenerios and fails miserably. How about the press conferences and how much of a complete idiot he makes himself out to be. Sometimes I have to play back the video about a dozen times to get it thru my head that he actually said what I heard him say. "The offense is getting better", "the special teams were great and we held onto the ball". This after ARE fumbled a punt out of bounds and we had a punt blocked? Maybe he blacks out during the game and has dreams that these things are true and when he wakes up, he believes it to be reality? How many times have we not had time outs at the end of the game or end of the half? How many times do we run the same play, the same damn stretch play, knowing we have no offensive line and our running backs are mediocre? I can give at least 20 examples of his horrible play calling, but just google Zorn and his play calling and you can read the thousands of articles making fun of him. He should have never accepted the position in the first place, because now he has ruined his career. If he would have taken the O coordinator position first for a few years and worked directly under a good head coach, (not as Holmgren's QB Coach where he is not part of the game planning), than he could have risen thru the ranks as it should be done. Zorn is to blame for taking the job in the first place and not realizing what he was getting himself into. He decided to take a job as a head coach under a domineering owner and he had no experience on being a head coach, plus no experience with dealing with tough ownership. Even the greatest of head coaches will have a tough time dealing with Snyder, and everyone including Zorn has known this for ten years, so he made his bed and now has to sleep in it. So long Zorn, don't let the door hit ya in the rear!
