Backup placekick holders are likely Grossman, Cooley

With punter Josh Bidwell apparently injured, the Redskins would need someone else to assume holding duties on placekicks Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

Bidwell was limping visibly as he was helped off the field by kicker Graham Gano during pregame warm-ups. Gano, who also punted in college, returned to the field and worked on punting, and he likely would handling place kicking and punting.

As for the holder if Bidwell is sidelined, Pro Bowl tight end Chris Cooley and backup quarterback Rex Grossman are the most likely candidates. Both are said to have good hands, which would seem to be a good thing for a holder.

Of course, Bidwell may be well enough to hold but not punt. So he still could help against the Rams.

So, its a good time to get to try some big play TDs , right??

Anyone remember which SFB regime of the last ten years it was that let go of perennially 100 tackle a year free safety Ryan Clark from LSU?? That guy was always near 100 tackles a year , and we let him go to the Steelers during free agency?? Lashes up and down..

WTF? No punter now? Why did they get rid of Hunter Smith again? Bidwell not only hasn't impressed but now is getting hurt right before the game?
