Here's a question - Why is the Wizards insider on the Redskins page?

Did that go the way you wanted it WaPo editors?...

75% pro-CPo w/ 66 Votes & now the poll is closed. wot gives?

With all due respect, let's save the Clinton Portis highlight reels and other honoraria for the end of season...

when he will inevitably be released and most likely retire too.

Also spare us all of the will he/won't he return stuff... he's done, finished, over and out already.

Even if he were healthy enough to get back on the field this Sunday, his time with this team is done. It's time to move on.

Induct him into the ring of honor if you must -- but next season please.

Pay him the balance of his guaranteed money for this season -- if only because you must.

And let him into the rehab facilities and get him healthy again -- because it's the right and proper thing to do.

But don't waste another moment or thought about playing again on this team.

Redskins still have at least 12 games to play this season.

And need to move on already... without Portis... once and for all.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

"Bipolar Support Program"

psychiatrist: Could you explain your feelings in-depth, sir?

mistamoe: Sure.

I'm frustrated one moment, happy the next.

psychiatrist: What changes to cause this?

moe: My position on the toilet.

That's what.

We better score some redzone tds this week. We need to spread them out down there and go 3 or 4 wide. DT needs to be used in the Redzone just for his size, but that won't happen cause it makes sense.

We love bringing guys of the street, off IR, and off practice squads and then starting them!

That's a winning formula!

Posted by: pabrian2003 | October 6, 2010 7:29 PM

I know you're having a tough time with the JC trade and now with CP26's career as a Redskins all but finished. So, I'll continue to tell you...root for the TEAM because players come and go and when they do there is no reason to act like a scorned 13 yr old girl.

Also:

IR means the player is done for the year..
Who was brought off the street and started?
Torain is starting because CP got hurt, again.
and Riggins will remain the skins all-time leading rusher.

You and beantowngreg sound like two teenage girls crying because one of those twilight dorks was killed in one of their latest stupid movies.
Posted by: Diesel44 | October 6, 2010 8:17 PM | Report abuse

I meant IR from last year, genius. So, Jamaal Brown, Kemoeatu, Carriker, Torain

off the street - chad simpson, brandon banks, roydell williams, galloway, armstrong, these new RBs, bidwell, hunter smith

lichtensteiger!! Heyer, big mike williams, some of these guys started and some projected to start.

CP will be back. Dude played with a seperated groin, HATER.

YOU MADE A TWILIGHT REFERENCE, not me.

An old back who has been regularly injured the last several seasons; who has seen his production consistently drop the last few years; who is in the last year of guaranteed money; and who is scheduled to make over 8 million next year isn't in jeopardy?

Anyone who answered no is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Before it's too late, let me say thanks to a real warrior. CP came to ball from his first carry as a REDSKIN to his last. I'll always be grateful to him for his inspired play especially the 'stonings' he put on d-linemen and d-backs. Thanks again CLINTON.

So who voted yes?

Will Clinton Portis play for the Redskins again?

Yes 69%

No 30%

There sure are some optimistic folk out there.

A 'star' running back who missed major chunks of 2 consecutive seasons is expected to return to the scene of his former glory.

I guess they feel that, well, it's best to get the most use out of Portis before he's six feet under.

They are the kind of people who cut open an empty toothpaste tube to get at what's left.

They are like the morticians who have sex with the dead to avoid paying money to hookers.

The women among them wash and rinse tampons figuring they'll dry out and be useful next month.

Geeeez!

C'mon, people, Clinton Portis' days as a redskin are over.

And I'd explain this in even more detail, but for right now, I'm scraping underneath school desks for gum to chew.

Having voted "YES" Portis will be back, I just want to make sure I get whatever sugar is left in it before the kids come back to class tomorrow.

And as with CP, I expect to enjoy every last drop of goodness that's left in it.

vic1,

You're such a hater. Portis is our 2nd most productive player this year, 3rd if you count the QB as one.

Moss is the only player with more yards, but has one lost fumble.

If Portis doesn't come back, then WHO WILL YOU HATE!

Posted by: pabrian2003 | October 7, 2010 3:37 PM | Report abuse

I voted yes. Until a better option is in place, he'll be on the team.

The man balls when he's in. Anyone who says otherwise is schilling or foolish.

ITA, sjkHoles.

Why not call me a racist, Nazi and a Jew too, you ass-whole?

I don't hate anybody, even you.

CP has been richly rewarded (some might say, overcompensated) for his ever-declining performance -- and if he's smart, will be able to live off the interest for the remainder of his days.

I wish him well, but somewhere else please.

Just complete BS. The team doesn't have roster spots to spare. They barely have the depth to get through a game as it is. If Shanny and Allen weren't fairly certain CP will be back for the stretch run, they'd have put him on IR already.

osted by: MistaMoe

4-6 weeks, puts us in week 10 or 11 at the latest.

If we had ANY depth whatsoever at the position MAYBE he'd be done

moss-287 yards
potis-236
cooley 234

DON'T BE A HATER. ASK YOURSELF WHY.

CP26 will be back this year but not next unless he restructures.

let it be so.

portis back - 68%
done-31%

Fits right in the Bell Curve, If your normal and within one standard deviation of normalcy then you vote Portis will be back.

Let's examine the "fringe" on both sides.

On one side the "fringe" people can't add 4 to 6 and subtract that from 17 (with a bye), simple math problem

On the other side people are just blinded by their DISLIKE for Portis, I will refer to them as DISLIKERS because they're sensative
