London Fletcher: 'I understand' DeAngelo Hall's frustration

Asked about cornerback DeAngelo Hall's recent comment that "this my defense," inside linebacker London Fletcher, Washington's defensive captain, smiled and said, "I'll have to talk to him about that."

Things are fine between Hall and Fletcher, who understood Hall's frustration after the Redskins squandered a 17-point, third-quarter lead in a 30-27 overtime loss to the Houston Texans.

"I wasn't really aware of the conversation, or the question and whatever," Fletcher said. "I understand him wanting to be a playmaker and make plays. Obviously, you've got some elite receivers that we're gonna face throughout the course of the season. You're gonna want those challenges. As a competitor, you want to go up and face their best. ... But I understand what he means by it."

The expected return of free safety Kareem Moore, who missed the first two games while recovering from knee surgery, should help the secondary, Fletcher said.

"Kareem had a great training camp and preseason," he said. "He's a playmaker back there on the back end. He's a ball hawk. So getting him back ... it allows him to make plays for us on the back end."

There will be more speed at the 2 & 3 RB spot with both Williams and Simpson running a 4.4 40 yard dash

@TBBuccaneers: Coach Morris just said rookie Cody Grimm will step in as the new starter at free safety. #Hokies

Interesting. I see him as more of a SS than a FS, but the guy has a ton of instinct and always seemed to be around the ball at VT.

no way Williams runs a 4.40...if he ran that, he'd most likely have been drafted.....

kind of taken aback by this post...I mean, I half expected a review of the 1997 draft, and who we SHOULD have taken...

Did anyone know that Chris Horton didn't practice yesterday?

He was out with an ankle injury according to nflmedia.com.

Real simple.
The organization is now run by a compitant GM and compitant head coach.

Last year Coo-coo-bananas and the Iguana said something stupid DAILY, and then did something stupid, then got the team in trouble. Now we have smart leaders who do smart things. The Post hired reporters who were good at covering stupidity and drama and now they don't know what else to write about.

For the final time: No one has a problem with what he said. We take issue with the forum he chose to express his feelings. Just because DHall's teammates are not publicly saying something negative about him does not mean they agree with how he expressed his feelings or that this issue has not been addressed internally.

If Hall was so f'n great in coverage, Haslett wouldn't be running so much zone.

Too soon to say, If we are picking in the top 10, avoid a RB, if we are picking in the 20s or 30s you go RB. Personally I am hoping that the skins can get Temples Bernard Pierce next year, as he could come out then, the guy has burst like a mo-fo.

"In other news....this comes as a surprise to no REDSKINS fan...At least we got a 4th RNd pick in 2012 for him."

--

Mr. Snyder, you have Al Davis on the line.

He says he wants his 4th round pick back... and he don't give a damn about what happens to Campbell.

Claims you sold him "damaged goods."

Also didn't realize what a talent-less drama queen the dude really is.

Says that JC is now sobbing his heart out outside his office, begging for another chance to start.

According to Mr. Davis, JC is saying he knows he can be a good starting QB, if only someone will take a chance on him.

However, he wants to change the music being played during the breaks at the stadium so he can more easily find his rhythm, and for you to sign some better:

Linemen
Blockers
Receivers
Runners
Special Teamsmen
Coaches
Trainers
Cheerleaders
Organ Grinders,
Monkies
Ticket Salesmen, and
Stadium Concessionaires

Says until we get all that just right, he just can't be expected to succeed in this system.

Davis also says that while he believes there may be no honor among owners, shipping JC out to Oakland was a really low class move.

Do you want to take the call, Mr. Snyder, sir?

Honestly, Shanahan has proven to be one of the most resourceful and routinely successful coaches in the league in finding and using effective players for his high-powered running game. Until we have significant evidence that he is not simply in the process of implementing his running attack, we may want to take a "wait and see" approach.

Remember, unheralded backs like bell, portis, davis, anderson, gary, etc., were all MS's decisions and we can't really claim that the 'skins aren't headed there too.

When we get our running game going, AH out of here, and the offense all on the same page, we will be stomping the snot out of opponents regularly.

It's about editorial policy. Drama and gossip sell newspapers. I just wonder why they do it so much on RI. RI is mostly a web thing, which doesn't bring in revenue for the paper. It's just sad we now have to get our football news from that rag The Examiner. (I think we should all send Keim a Christmas card.)

I love London, but I really don't give a dam how he feels about Hall's comments. This site is turning into The View. I would love to go a full week without reading one quote about how a player feels about something. Who cares?
