Defensive Breakdown

I am following up on a line of statistical inquiry that Megskin began last week, giving full credit where it is due. The story will run tomorrow but I thought I'd throw some raw data out there now that will apear in charts to go with the text. The numbers should speak for themselves.

And with that I'm checking out of here to do some trick or treating with Chloe. She's going as a ladybug (or bugga-bugga as she calls them) and with any luck we'll actually get the costume on her.

Oh yeah, and caught up with Ray Brown as well. He's going to be a general consultant, doing everything from talking to players, helping youngsters out, a little coaching, a little film work and scouting. Kind of like an all around liaison like I was bantering about last night. Good move, makes sense. He's someone I would want to keep in my organization.

Alright, here's the stats:

Per the above, I was in a discussion at lunch today that I want to share with my fellow blogging degenerates: The Winning Formula

It stems from a little stat screen ESPN put up pre game last night of all the peeps Belli has lost since VL trophy I. Romeo/Wise/Mangini/Patten/etc etc etc... Felt like it was every friggin coach and position player on the team. So how in the heck is this franchise so successful? You have to look to the top 1st right? Great drafting, talent assembly, scouting, genius coaching, and CHEMISTRY. So, we'll attribute the majority Constant 1 to a GM (if the Pats even have one? Tell me Belli doesn't handle that too?). Second, with a direct impact on the Laser Rocket Arm vs Bling Brady argument that occurred previously, a great D year in and year out. A MUST for success in the NFL(Grtst Show may be only argument in recent history against). Imagine if Laser had that D, what his jewelry box would look like? Third, well, Tom Brady, a great QB, is a definite constant in the winning formula in New England.

So...what does this tell us Skins Fans??? Well? Welcome to Cell Block D, folks, home to sodomites and felatiotees, ignored by guards, embraced by satan and his demonic denizens, inspiring pain and suffering amongst all fans of the B & G. For 3 to 5 years we can expect to be (new england accent) cella dwella's in the East. Constant 1: GM/Personnel & Talent Assembly is arse backwards per JLC's article. Constant 2: Defense...chirp chirp...chirp chirp...like a scientology birthing room. Constant 3: QB. Well? Time to take a look at JC, but still up in the air.

So there it is...with our 07 draft resembling a "U" ethics and morality class, 5 years until I'm happy again.

Now what? - well if you're single, young, or thinking about leaving your spouse...do it. You could legitimately move to Florida for 4 years and be back for the next playoff game. There is nothing better that a 70 degree Christmas morning and some hurricane clean up to take your mind off a 4 & 12 season. Anything else? - sure. Start writing letters to Gordan Gecko telling him to hire a GM.

Holla,

PG

I'll take definitive indictments of Grilliams please...

Wow. I'd love to see how Grilliams would respond if you threw that data in his eyepiece and said: 'justify these moves big cat'.

Whammy.

Dudes, it is Dallas week. I threw up this morning. No explanation. It is just what happens when the greatest evil force in the land draws nearer to what is good. Every time Dallas scores a TD, a kitten is murdered. Someone prove me wrong. You can't.

I don't feel so good.

Once my beloved Azzuri won the WC I should have known the Skins would end up like this.

OMG - I just puked all over myself. And, this was no fun-yack...this was a gut wrenching, can't believe it's worse than I thought puke.

Jason - thanks, I guess, for adding to Meg's initial compilation. For a team that has prided itself on its "in your face defense", this is really heartbreaking. It really can't solely be attributed to the addition of Archukiddingme and AC.edu can it?

Pat's GM is Scott Peoli. We should spend money on him or even Allen down in Tampa. (Son of a former Redskins coach) so it's possible.

Quick unrelated comment. If one more person suggests Charlie Casserly to GM the Redskins, I am going to sell my junk. With the 1st pick in the draft, he selected Mario Williams. MARIO WILLIAMS??? He passed on Reggie Bush, possibly the worst decision in pro sports. Houston is like 2-6 and the Saints are 5-2. You want this guy making your personnel moves? He drafted Jason Babin out of Western Michigan a few years back in the first round...that dude is terrible too...he's the one with the weird arm tatoos.

STOP THE INSANITY! Dallas Week. You let us down Jason about Sean Taylor and the #36. I'll never forget it.

Posted by: The Governor | October 31, 2006 3:59 PM | Report abuse

Another big thing with the Pats is their attitude toward free agents. They don't hesitate to let a guy walk and they don't gas up Patriot One and fly off to wine and dine every single FA who is available. As PG sez, there is one constant besides Belichick: Tom Brady.

Peoli...we need that guy! Seeking out salary data now...

Do you ever feel like we are in a huge NFL version of the Price is Right, and Snyder is bidding 4.5 MILLION DOLLARS on a was machine, and thus never gets up on stage, but is really flipping out and going nutz everytime he bids. Meanwhile, all of us fans are yelling ELEVEN HUNDRED!!! and he just ignores us, and the Skins never get to dance...I've had like 7642 Kit Kats today. I love Halloween. I'm going to go eat Rydilin now.

"Man, I picked the wrong week to quit drinking, smoking, sniffing glue......"

You mean there is a right week?

Brady helps for sure. But Brady was standing in the pocket last night for what seemed like hours. Moroney was running the ball effectively when he got the chance.

I want Scott Peoli. That guy seems to know what to look for to form a cohesive unit.

Anyone who wants Charlie Casserly wasn't paying attention to the Redskins in the 90's

Posted by: Skinz | October 31, 2006 4:10 PM | Report abuse

I think it would be shortsighted to view this all as a defensive failure. The inability of the offense to hold the ball has to be a factor as well as the dynamics of playing with or without a lead. It would be interesting for a real stat geek to see if there is a correllation between certain offensive stats and defensive stats. My guess is that the more first downs your offense gains the better your defense or as they say, "the best defense is a good offense."

Scott Pioli is not a GM. He's a VP of player personnel which means he doesn't have final say. Here is the link to the Pats website. Read it if you want or take my word for it. It's long and boring...

Joe,

My point is the guy picks the players. I don't care if his title is Grand Pubah of Picking Players, he consistently gets players that flourish in BB's system.

Anyone know where I can get stats on the Skins' secondary? Specifically I'm looking for stats on individual DBs (number of times thrown to, compl %, TDs given up, etc.)

Posted by: Clinton Hill | October 31, 2006 4:17 PM | Report abuse

Here is all you need to read.

"The primary objective of Pioli's personnel philosophy is to build a team, not to simply collect individual talent. As a result, the Patriots have been able to prosper despite the NFL realities of injuries and the salary cap, which have proven in the past to be impediments to long-term success in pro football."

As much as I want a real GM, I don't want Charley Casserly. He hasn't done anything right since.... 1993?

He's the man responsible for collecting great skill position players in Houston and then putting them behind one of the worst o-lines in NFL history. Not to mention the Reggie Bush fiasco.

Just wanted to chime in on the Casserly thing. I wouldn't want him back but he did not draft Mario Williams, that was Kubiak who came up with that interesting pick. Casserly wanted Reggie Bush but the new coach Kubiak(you think the owner is not going to side with him) wanted Williams and it was easier to sign him.

I agree that there needs to be some change in the front office but why go for the retread. Find a young and hungry person in a model organization and then gas up Redskin One and shmoozes him

Great quote Skinz!

That says it to a T! TEAM!

Seriously though, the subconscience motivator driving these huge acq's is not right...It's like an impassioned greed. I think the owner should have passion...but also patience. Greed leads to Enron, MCI, Cendant, Cell Block D, Eagles '05, Gordan Gecko in jail stuff. Patience, chemistry, accountability, family...the new slogan for the Skins. As I'm writing this (cue OPP in background) they're talking to the agents of Chris Simms, David Carr, Trent Green, Kurt Warner, Jeff George, Seneca Wallace and (drum roll please)...Drew Bledsoe.

I can't wait to see the shennanigans that happen with this 5th pick we have in 6th months.

The answer to the 'Skins problems is ... Well wait, there are about 100 questions. One answer is not enough. The defense is THE problem. Perhaps Carter to MLB? A healthy CG is everything to an effective D-line. He seems to be getting old at a young age. Look at Bryant Young in SF ... good inside guys can be effective for a long time.

Time to start Campbell and insist on throwing to Lloyd.

Let Rogers go one-on-one with good receivers. This is his year to be in school, might as well get all the education he can.

Blitz often early in series. Red zone D is better than overall D. Focus on that. Take some risks while the ball is in the other guy's territory. They'll go the first 50 yards anyway ...

Didn't Casserly swing the deal with Ditka that brought us Arrington and Samuels? Didn't Casserly also pick Champ?

I did not impregnate ArtMonktotheSticks. He is a man. I am a man. Scientific impossibility.

Also, he is coming over tonight to play Final Fantasy XII. To us, this game is like having a summer romance with Rachel Hunter. No negatives. Win-win for everyone.

Also, for all of you skins fans who I love like sons and daughters. If you want to take your mind off the terribleness of our franchise, tune in to Comcast tomorrow night at 8 and watch the greatest announcing duo of all time: Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier. It will bring you joy. The "How do you like that!" of Buckhantz and the passive aggressive nature with which Chenier talks about Haywood. "Haywood has got to keep that ball up after the rebound..." I know I went off on this a while back, but you have to do it. It is what every sports announcing experience should be in America. Order you up some Mei Wah and watch the Wizards. They, like the Redskins, made ridiculous promises about "Winning the East." But they're so cute and adorable, I can't get mad at them. They will win 44 games and get bounced by the Cavs in Rd 1 this year. But the ride is what makes it worth it.

Buckhantz rulz!!!! I remember during a game last year during Chaunukka, he dropped "Happy Chaunukka" like six times. Between his "how do you like that???" I actually love "Daggar" when he uses it appropriately. What I hate is when he drops "Daggar" after a great Arenas shot with 4 seconds left, only to have the Wizards "Ole" defense allow the other team to get another shot off and win. And he loves to drop "How do you like that" when LeBron, or Kobbe, or some other great player is dropping bombs on the Wiz. I'll tell you, Steve, I DON'T like that!!!! It only makes the pain worse when he says that!

Anyway, back to the Skins and my boo hoo box...

Interesting.

The wizards have an owner, a coach AND a GM.

And this GM spends time looking for future start BEFORE they achieve their potential? (Gilbert Arenas)

And the team DOESN'T overpay for injury-prone atheletes thereby placing itself in cap hell? (Larry Hughes)

And they keep the team and the coach TOGETHER in order to build a cohesive unit?

And you say they've made the playoffs TWICE IN A ROW?

Who would have thought THAT would be a formula for success.

We'll both talk trash - I'm talking a little less right now, then we'll fight over which team's outfit our little daughter will wear, then we spend the rest of the week compiling stats to throw at one another dating back to the inception of the rivalry. 4th, how many positive things have happened since the Colts game? Jason's job is to report the news not to spread sunshine.

Here's something positive. I see Mike Sellers catching a swing pass this weekend and doing Roy Will like he did Dawkins last year. Williams will be exposed like P Diddy in New Orleans. He will not be SallyMae's new roomate.

So, this being Dallas Week, I have a tradition with my brother in Arizona. I call him up, we get on Madden online on the PS2 and he gets the girls and I get the Skins.

As far as last night's game, he starts Romo Cop, I've got Brunell going (working off the latest "intelligence" folks). Two minutes to go in the 1st quarter, Brunell is 3-6, 35 yrds, 2 INTs (one bounced off of Lloyd).

So, I do what I knew needed to be done...I yanked Brunell and put in JC. This move is followed by Al Michaels singing music to my ears..."As the Redskins take the field it appears Mark Brunell has been lifted for Jason Campbell..."

And the rest is history. JC: 15-21, 221, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, Skins roll 35-14

I'm not advocating using video games as predictors of real life, but I've seen stranger things happen....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't CC orchestrate the deal that got rid for Sean Gilbert for like two first rounders and maybe even some cash? That has to go down as one of the best moves ever. Man that guy went no where fast.

>>> "he gets the girls and I get the Skins"

Firstly, this is an arrangement I would never agree to. :-)

Secondly, Scott Pioli is a VP of Player Development who is a) awesome and b) unavailable. The 'Skins would have to compensate the Patriots with their entire draft to get Pioli.

The key is to find the next Scott Pioli and the next St. Joe, but I don't think anyone who has been paying attention the last 10 years would ever believe that "Mr." Snyder would cede authority to someone who doesn't already have the credentials to tell him to back off. Which, FWIW, is the mark of a manager for whom no sane individual should ever work. Insecurity: the hallmark of bad management and horrible girlfriends. I guess I should use this opportunity to bring up the Napoleon Complex thing, huh?

Finally, on the Reese/talentless-blonde-guy thing...I'm not much of a Reese Witherspoon fan, but whenever a Hollywood marriage fails, a little part of me does the happy dance. After all, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston are available. All it takes is one charming and sophisticated statement in one impossible to get into WeHo nightclub, and I'm in like Flynn. Now, if someone could get Christina Aguilera to break up with the guy-whose-name-I-refuse-to-learn, that would be awesome.

As I always say when I find out a beautiful Hollywood chick is getting married, "I'll catch you on the second marriage." Heartless? Yes. Uncouth? Yes. The truth? Absolutely.

P Diddy great points as always. My line "he gets the girls and I get the Skins" would have been better phrased as "he gets Satan's Team and I get the Skins". Please accept my correction.

As far as "All it takes is one charming and sophisticated statement in one impossible to get into WeHo nightclub, and I'm in like Flynn." I suggest you pull up in the Maserati in your idiom -- sans spinners -- walk in like you own the place and hit 'em up with "you know, this one time I was in New Orleans" and the rest will be history.

Just remember me for a wedding invite please?

Ali,

In my entire life, I have never once used a car to get a girl. To paraphrase one of my favorite lines: flies like poop and bees like honey. You let fly with the BS, all you're going to get in return is BS. Besides, I'm too clumsy to even know how to use a car to get a girl.

Two questions:

1. Did Brunell practice today?

2. If so, did Brunell throw a steak at Jason Campbell and hit him in the head while he was riding his bike?

I believe Tuesday is an off day for players.

Steak sounds awesome, actually.

Brunell probably sits in the locker room and talks about how good things used to be when he was in his prime with Jacksonville, and how when he was with Jacksonville he could throw a football over 'em mountains right there. Nobody wants to live in the past and I'm sure the young guys are sick of hearing what Brunell has done in the past. At least with Campbell, his career story has yet to be written.

I had no idea their souls could be sucked dry so easily. I hie me away to prepare the unkindest cut of all: at midnight, drowning four border collies, one for each touchdown scored over-fiend Terrell Owens! That will be more than he scored against the woeful Texans!

Wow, now that I look, y'all are tied with not only Cleveland, but Houston too. Ouch.

boys, and girls it's been a tough season.

we've questioned everyone's competency in our beloved skins organization. BUT this week is dallas week. 'nuff said!

and now i would like to make some optimistic points:

1. skins d will be much better against the girls because of:
a. returning players,
b. addition of troy vincent,
c. using of andre carter at the linebacker position and
d. following a simple principle which states that a defense with the same coaching staff can't go from top 10 to bottom 10 in a single season. it is a very rare phenomena and i don't think with players like griffin, washington, taylor, springs(top players at their position) that will take place this season.
e. just look at how different the giants D is now compared to the first 3 weeks

2. it's dallas week. throw away the records. it doesn't matter which team looks better and which doesn't.

3. tomorrow if el Presidente Gibbs doesn't change the qb then we must rally around mr. brunell as if it's 1999.

4. in every game so far, no team beat the skins. the skins beat themselves. playcalling, running game scheme, defensive personell packages, tackling will all be addressed and corrected. if only for this game.

5. skins secondary beat the shti out of their receivers in dallas this year.

6. we may not be going to the superbowl anymore but we sure as hell are going to ruin the (cow)girls party!

NOW what happens when the (cow)girls come to OUR HOUSE????????????

THEY GET THEIR @SSES WHOOPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh-contrair, mon frare; the gnats beat the skins (although skins did a lot of losing in that game too) and the colts (and specifically Peyton Manning) ripped them a new one in the second half of that game. but I'll agree with you that vikings, cowgirls, and of course that friggin titans game (AAARRR!!!) were games they shoulda, coulda woulda (but didn't).

offense on the other hand...

which reminds me...i was listening to coach T and he had some writer from Dallas on his show and he was saying that all the O-line problems went away (the pass protection, run blocking) as soon as romo got in the game.

so lisa, please come over to this side. the qb CAN cure all that ails the offense.
and rightly so.

Dealer,

I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with Gibbs starting Jason....I am, after all, a "Bama" originally from Alabama and grew up an Auburn fan. I'm just saying that even if the offense improves with a new QB, we still have to worry about our lackluster defense - which appears to be our biggest concern. We "managed" last year with a "lackluster" offense.

Did anyone else hear Parcells remarks in his presser after the game Sunday night? It was on the NFL Network....he actually said that his players "played their guts out" - I had to do a doubletake to make sure it was not Gibbs!!!

Ok, "littery genius" has sparked my optimism with that post. Yes, I have probably called for Brunell's head more than anybody on this blog, but only because I feel it's the best medecine for the ailing skins team right now. But, I am a true lifelong redskins fan that bleeds burgundy and gold except for saturdays when it's blue and white (PSU alum). And, if Brunell is going to be the starter this weekend against Dallas, then I agree we have to give him and Gibbs and the rest of the skins our total support!! The common theme between fans, coaches, GM's, and team owner's is that we want the same goal. We want the team to win!! We've all attacked the organization, but the organization and us are together this weekend in our SUPERBOWL FOR PRIDE against Dallas. Yes, this is the biggest game we have left on our schedule, I view it as our superbowl, and if we can win this one, solitary game, I will be satisfied as a fan. This game means more to me than anything else!! And, just think, if we win this game we might look back at it after nine wins in a row and say this was the one that turned it all around for the Redskins organization... keep the kool aid flowing bartender, I need another!!

Posted by: Max | October 31, 2006 10:59 PM | Report abuse

Does anybody remember the quote from Gibbs prior to the Tennesee game: "The most dangerous teams are the desperate ones with nothing to lose." "yeah they got lucky against the Aussies, but that team made an amzazing evolution under Lippi from the Ghana game to the France final."

I was in Sydney when the Aussies beat Japan. Big screen down by circular quay, some kind of silly number of folks in the tens of thousands -- we got trashed in The Rocks wondering where the next Tooheys was coming from. When the Aussies scored those last two a caller to a local radio show called them Fat Man and Little Boy. I know because I was stuck in a car trying to navigate my way back to Darling Harbour through streets full of people.

But then there was that game against Italy. Boy the Australians were upset. They had just beaten England in Rugby at Telstra a little bit before and they should have won that game against the Azzuri.

Unfortunately inexperienced defenders go down against experienced forwards with both legs and cause penalties. I tried to explain to my Aussie friends that you can't do that against a world class team and they just looked at me and recited that rugby chant, "What do you want to be? A walla wallaby"

So I left my past experience with two legged defense at the last Ajax/PSV game in Amsterdam on the side and took all the free Tooheys New I could. Cause Lord knows there's all kinds of double entendres when you start putting "two legged defense" and "Amsterdam" in the same sentence.

Sydney and Amsterdam -- Great cities. Great people. Don't remember much beyond that.

Since my birthday is on Tuesday, the 7th, I've decided to ask for a slightly early birthday gift. I am speaking to God right now because I know that he converses with Gibbs daily. Hopefully he can pass along my wish.

I am asking for JC to start... nothing else. I'm not asking for a win simply because I think that may come with some new energy and a JC start.

It was either this or world peace, and I figured a JC start was slightly more likely to happen.

Sorry world... GO SKINS!

FlimFlam that was unfortunate. As long as Lance Briggs doesn't show up in DC, go WWF style and clothesline JC, I think we'll be alight.

One huge difference though, JC was handpicked by Gibbs to be the future. Ramsey tweren't...

The Skins have a runner named Portis
Who'd lose a footrace with a tortoise
The weight he can't shoulder

And looks like he has rigor mortis

ArtMonktotheSticks-
I am not a huge Brunell fan, but I think I was one of the ones who was saying he ain't so bad. I stand by my view. And I have said it in previous threads--it's the Defense! In fact, this thread itself is about the Defensive problems. If the Defense were playing at 2004 levels, the Skins could be undefeated. If the Defense were playing at 2005 levels, the Skins could be 5-2 or maybe 4-3.

With all that said, I am essentially of the opinion now (especially if we lose Sunday and I need a boo hoo box) that it is Campbell time--not because Brunell sucks, but b/c the season is over and we need to see if the kid can play. But I don't blame the crappy season on Brunell (he's not a pro-bowler, but he's serviceable w/ a good defense a la Jake Del-Homie or someone like that).

Thank God for the "Ctrl F" function, otherwise this blog would be impossible to keep track of. Is it weird if I'm sitting in a meeting thinking, "what if someone is blogging something funny right now?" or "what if Boofer is back and I can't do Tech Support to interpret?" or most importantly: "what if they start talking about HEROES and I miss out!" D@MN IT! I H8 WORK!

I love the bet between Jebediah and JM220 btw. Jebediah, I would like to remind you of a Pshycological Fan Disorder known as Ramsey Syndrome. You see, back in '02 Pat got his debut against the Titans and put up some astonishing numbers for a Rook: 20-34 for 268 and 2 TD's. Redskin nation went friggin crazy. "The quarterback of the future" phrase was uttered on ESPN, "SOLUTION" dotted newspapers throughout the region, and alas, he now is backing up Paddington in New Jersey. All I'm trying say Jeb, don't get your hopes up about Romo, and if you do, luckily, it's a diagnosable disorder that your medical insurance will cover.

AMTTS, I'll admit it. After the Texans game, I was firmly in the "Brunell is a good decision-maker" camp. I saw no reason to rip the guy after he had a career day. Were they short passes? Sure. But I didn't (and still don't) think that he needs to apologize for throwing short passes if they move the chains. At the time, I figured, give the guy his due. He had a good day.

He played badly againt the Giants, but I was still mostly in his corner. My belief all along had been that, in a 2-minute drill, I'd rather have the wily vet than an untested kid.

The next week against the Titans he was faced with just that. Down by 3, 1 minute left, needed about 60 yards to get into FG range. Brunell's first throw is an easy pick. Game.

What can I say? I was wrong. For whatever reason, he can't or won't run this offense effectively. And if he can't be trusted to make good decisions and accurate throws in the clutch, then his veteran status is worthless.

Lisa,

I must admit, I think I've fallen in love with you thru this blog, and, suffice it to say, I do not know how to express my emotions. You see, I grew up rooting for a team I only heard about, and could only watch on TV once a year when the tin foil worked, and no one loved me except for those coke-ridden players of the 80's and 90's. So, I hope we can work out, and I apologize to my caps lock key.

This cowgirls could end up being one of the biggest in history. Just think what they would be saying if got deep in the playoffs coming off this poor start.

This is Saunders' 1st year implementing his offense, and their coming off of a bye so he probably made all of the adjustments he could have made. AND, this is the 2nd time they are playing this year, so he (Saunders) remembers what happened last time. dallas is coming off this 'emotional' win and are begining to annoint romo. To me this couldn't be anything but perfect timing.......

Thanks for responding JLC!

After the Houston game all I thought was that the Texans suck. Regardless of how many straight completions MB had, it was amazing to me that their defense could make our offense look that good.

Unless my memory fails me it was a litany of missed tackles and bad coverage exhibited on their part.

So I don't think I commented on whether Brunell was great or not, I think it was more about how the Texans defense looked a lot like the French army in 1940.

jm, i guarandamntee it baby! skins D will show up for this game. they showed up the last game they'll show up for this game. with everyone healthy. no way our boy double G is going to let a rookie and a tub of lard make a fool of him.

i have an interesting theory about teams that have a lack of pass rush (2006 Skins) playing against quarterbacks who are "mobile" like mr. romo is. the team with a lack of pass rush actually does better against a qb who likes to move around. think about it. the line doesn't really move much and the qb actually has to move towards the line, right in the arms of a waiting D lineman. especially if it's a rookie qb.

and if you heard parcells on some radio show this week claiming that skins only have one threat on the offense (moss). DID THAT TUB OF LARD FORGET 3 TD's BY COOLEY????!!!!!! DID YOU FORGET SKINS HAVE PORTIS AND SELLERS?????????

MOTHAFUGIGAMA!!!

And our pal who can't find his/her way home to a sorority called (cow)girl's fan blog, i invite you to come here on this blog during the game and watch the game with us. please! sincerely! cuz boy! i'm gonna need a punching bag if shti starts to go wrong.

so be here or be square shorty!

ohh do you want me to trash talk before the game? one of your wr is a "SHE" and the other one tried to kill himself and you don't have a RB. and your qb? like i said before double G is going to make david carr look like a HOF after he's done undressing him.

and ohh there's a reason i call myself "littery genious" cuz i can spot CRAP when i see it and your (cow)girls are CRAP!

Do you guys think Boofer shouts like that in real life? I just laughed thinking about being stuck in an elevator with him going to a meeting on the 31st floor to close the 'Peterman Account' and him just yelling.

BLAH BLAH ZIMMER ZAM SHIMMY SHOOBELY_DO. ROMO ROMERSONS IS THE ROMO ZIGGY EAT MY WORDS LOUD NOISES!

I'm trying to keep him calm:

"Boof...Boofer...B...Hey big guy? Yo Boof Diddy? Hey Bro? Broseph? President Bro Tempore? Broheim? Yeah, hey, remember...remember our inside voices today OK? You're gonna do great in there."

The door to the meeting room opens, 5 awkward Texan business dudes are seated at a mahagony table. 2 of them have extensive sideburns. All of them have ties on that are too short and poorly made. One man has on a sport coat that is that same shade of abhorent blue as the cowpukes' star. Boofer sees it and starts ripping his suit off screming. He dances on the table rocking pelvic thrusts into an imaginary boo hoo box. I stand by helplessly with a 'they still make people like this?' look on my face. We do not get the account.

Boofer is forced to explain to his father why we didn't close. They re-enact the scene from Varsity Blues. Boofer closes by saying: "I DON"T WWUUUNT, YOUR LIFE" and storms out of the house.

Scene.

AMTTS, I was a Brunell supporter, and still am to some degree. I think he is still decent and can get the job done. I do not think the problems are his fault, at least not entirely. I think with him under center we have a great chance to beat dallass. I know we can win.

I, like everyone else, want to see what campbell can do and what he'll bring to the table in an actual game. But this week I realised something I had been missing. Brunell is a great qb for a Joe Gibbs sytem of offense. Brunell is NOT a good fit for an Al Saunders offense. On one hand, I want to get JC in there as soon as possible to get him comfortable and used to the system and players so that we'll be ready to roll the next 10 years. However, I love the fact that the coaches haven't given up on the season, even if the fans have. If the skins come out W, W, they are right back in it and things could work. Looking at the sked, I know they could make a run--I can feel it, still, somewhere down deep in there somewhere. And, if we do stick with Brunell for the next 2 games and lose--there are still 7 games we could play JC...plenty of time, IMO. All I really care about, at this point, is beating dallass. And they will.

So typical a Cowboy fan. What little credibility you brought with you just got flushed down the toilet. Unfortunately in the real world you don't get to play by the rules you set out so that you can "Win". Best part is your attempt to be smug once taking such a pusillanimous position.

Wack job comedian from Back To School: The late, great Sam Kinison. May he rest in peace.

Killed before his time in a car crash out in the California/Nevada desert.

When singing about an ex-girlfriend: "I hope you slide under a gas truck and taste your own blood!!! Arrrrr, arrrr, arrrr!!!"

When discussing why Ethiopians are always starving: "That's because you live in an effing desert. See this? It's sand! Know what it's going to be in 100 years? It's going to be sand! We have deserts in America, we just don't live in them!!!!"

Not sure I can stretch far enough to relate him to the Skins or even sports, but we have been known to recognize past genius on this blog before (Nipsey Russell)
