Did You Know ???

Hope to get a chance to get the DE post up tonight - it's long and will take time to get up there - but in the meantime, got an email from Zach Hilton's dad. Seems like a great guy. I have to admit I had no idea Zach was a local kid.

Zach's family lives in Silver Spring (where he grew up) and he graduated from Good Counsel HS... he played FB and Basketball there.

Obviously, a homecoming would be a great thing for his father, Tom, but the family is realistic about the odds of a street free agent making the team or getting a contract. I think he would make a lot of sense for these guys, he has good size and seemed to be coming on a few years back. I would be surprised if the Skins didn't sign Zach and Derrick Blaylock next week.

Perhaps what Jason is saying with a wink, is that there is no good news regarding the DE?

Perhaps Jason is saying, the DE is in real trouble, folks.

Then again he has had a tough week, with a sick wife and child.

Can someone please explain to me why we need Blaylock when we already have Portis, Betts, and Rock? If you need competition, there are rookie FA's (note the use of an apostrophe) to serve as camp fodder. You don't sign a vet like Blaylock unless you think he will make the team, giving the Skins 4 RB's. Very few teams carry 4 RB's. We need to save that spot for a useful player like a depth D-lineman, instead of TJ Duckett part 2.
