Here's a brief list of some guys on the Skins draft radar, just to get this long day started:
They would love for Albert, Williams, Otah or Clody to fall to them, but much more likely they take a long look at Duane Brown (Va Tech) in the second-to-third round.
My gut is they do the right thing and pass this up in the first round. Trading back to the second round would really give them good value. Jordy Nelson (Kansas State) or Malcolm Kelly (Oklahoma) will be there then, and they like they them both (I'd go for Nelson). Limas Sweed (Texas) is an outside possibility that high as well. If they look at this position in the mid-to-late rounds, keep an eye on Jerome Simpson (Coastal Carolina), Arman Shields (Richmond) and Dexter Jackson (Appalachian State)
If Derrick Harvey (Florida) is still there at pick 21, or whenever the Skins pick, they will give immense thought to taking him. But he's not expected to be there. Phillip Merling (Clemson) attracted a huge group of Skins personnel to his workout and is a very strong candidate at 21, too, with his recent sports hernia of some concern. My gut is they trade the pick, but if they don't and you made me pick a player they take, I say Merling.
If they don't take Tennessee's Jerod Mayo with the 21st pick - and he very well might not be there - then the Skins might not take one until the 7th round, with outside LB a particular interest.
The Skins don't intend on taking one until later in the draft, but if Trevor Laws (Notre Dame), Dre Moore (Maryland) slip a bit, maybe they make a move. Letroy Guion (Florida State) impressed the Skins and is a player they may take, but Marcus Dixon (Hampden) is very versatile and very much in the Greg Blache mold and the Skins are very high on him. I can see them jumping on him in the 5-6 round.
The Skins will make an effort to come away with either Mike Pollak (Arizona State) or Steve Justice (Wake Forrest). Cody Wallace (Texas A& M) has drawn less interest could be an option as well in the late rounds.
Safety Kareem Moore (Nicholls State) visited the team and they would love to get him in the 6th round area. He's a big hitter who could form a powerful duo with LaRon Landry over time. Thomas Decoud (Cal) could be someone they turn to late in the draft as well. The Skins will likely sign a veteran corner at some point and it's less of a pressing need. Kansas State corner Justin McKinney could end up being taken with one of their seventh round picks.
Josh Johnson (San Diego) and Erik Ainge (Tennessee) both were impressive in visits with the team and have caught the eye of Jim Zorn. One of them could very well end up in the black and maroon.
