The Sunday Morning Reading List

Well, finally, the games that mean something are here. There's plenty of reading material to keep you occupied until the 1 p.m. games warm you up for the 4:15 event. Sure, you can revisit the USC-OSU game. Or digest Serena Williams's meltdown. Or, you could read about the NFL's planned invasion of China, as Les Carpenter writes today.

For years the NFL, which kicks off its regular season in full on Sunday, has been the most lucrative sports league in the world, generating an estimated $8 billion a year in revenue. But as technology improved, making it possible for American sports to be seen in more and more countries, the NFL has found itself in a dilemma, staring longingly at blossoming international markets yet with a game few outside of this country understand.
Both the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball have strong international followings and eventually, many sports financial analysts have long said, the NFL will have to grow itself overseas or risk being left behind.

Or, if you've got boundless nervous energy or are looking for yet another way to document your mental superiority (as if BYGOing up here weren't proof enough), you could take a nice refreshing dip in the Post Pro Picks pool? You can pick against Wilbon; you know how you love proving him wrong. You can create a league for your friends or even like such as maps and your fellow Redskins Insiders.

Fun enjoyable Oscar Wilde Quotes:

"Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious."

"Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative."

"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much."

"A man can be happy with any woman as long as he does not love her."

"Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing."

"I am not young enough to know everything."

"I think that God in creating Man somewhat overestimated his ability."

"Illusion is the first of all pleasures."

"It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information."

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask[or blog shall i say], and he will tell you the truth."

"Morality, like art, means drawing a line someplace."

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."

"Music makes one feel so romantic - at least it always gets on one's nerves - which is the same thing nowadays."

"One can survive everything, nowadays, except death, and live down everything except a good reputation."

"One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards."

Is it Game Time yet? HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

Why all of this talk about this being Zorn's make or break season? It's only season 2. It would not make sense to continue to change coaches and systems. Unless a major sub .500 season, you should bring Zorn back.

Thought for the day:

2008 record by uniform:

burgundy pants/white jersey: 1-5
(win - @SEA, losses - @NYG, DAL, @BAL, @CIN, @SF)

burgundy pants/burgundy jersey: 0-1

white pants/red jersey: 3-1
(wins - @DAL, @PHI, PHI, loss - NYG)

white pants/white jersey: 4-1
(wins - NO, AZ, CLE, @DET, loss - STL)

burgundy pants: 1-6
white pants: 7-2

0-1 vs, NYG last year in white pants, but wearing the burgundy jersey. Good chance to go white/white on a warm day in NYC today....

The only coach Dan Snyder has ever actually fired is Norv. It's not like he's been firing guys left and right, they've instead quit because of disagreements (Marty), they quit because they sucked (Spurrier), or they retired (gibbs).

I thought Oscar Wilde's most famous quote was, "hey little boy, come over here".
