Redskins not a factor as Karlos Dansby signs with Dolphins

The Redskins made clear today they weren't in hot pursuit of the biggest names on the free agency market, and the news wires certainly seemed to confirm that fact.

Arizona linebacker Karlos Dansby was thought to be a priority for the Redskins just 24 hours ago, a backup option if the Redskins couldn't nail down Julius Peppers. This evening, Dansby agreed to a five-year contract with the Dolphins worth $43 million, according to multiple reports. About $22 million is believed to be guaranteed.

Dansby would've filled an important hole as an inside linebacker as Washington converts to a 3-4 defense. The Redskins are expected to keep perusing the free agency market to find someone to play alongside London Fletcher.
