The Set-Up from Seattle

It's a gorgeous morning here in Seattle, a perfect day. It's in the mid-50s, with a slight breeze. What a town. What a stadium.

P Diddy hooked us up with a wonderful night. Amazing food, great conversation and a drink or two thrown in. Nate (from the PDX) and Jeff (Freakzilla) joined me, Diddy and Jreid for dinner at an outstanding Italian spot - you can't go wrong with Diddy pulling the strings - and the East Coast contingent stayed out as late as we could without falling asleep.

This should be a good game. I expect it to be close all the way. If the Skins fall behind early I'm not sure it's gonna be their day, and I think they should get back to leaning on the run to set up play action.

I'll post inactives later. Hope all is well wherever you are.

Sounds like a nice night, Cindy.

Maybe this sports reporter thing isn't such a bad gig, after all?

You're right. Hes stupid for not knowing the overtime rule. And for the comments he made earlier this year about the Bears and Skins.

Diddy and Jreid for dinner at an outstanding Italian spot

By Jason La Canfora | November 23, 2008; 2:05 PM ET

I was right. Diddy took him to Olive Garden for the endless pasta bowl!

Yes, let's blame the guy whose unit allowed only 14 points. Blache isn't the problem. Whatever he's doing seems to be working. The offense, as usual, is the issue.

Thank you, Diddy! The pass rush is just a luxury at this point, the O-line needs to give the team a chance to put more points on the board!

Sports writing is a very very good gig. We're very lucky...only downside is working nights and weekends and holidays, but lots of people do that.

And, the way the economy is going, a lot of those who aren't working weekends and nights are wishing that they were.

We let a lot of comments slide on here because you guys, frankly, do such a good job of policing the joint and calling one another out. But when someone complains, we listen. So, sorry, poolman. Give the rules a read.

+++Warren Sapp said JT55 told him that Blatche benched him and he wouldn't let him and Carter switch sides according to match ups and dosen't appear too happy......

Posted by: 4thFloor ++++

Obviously their Dancing with the Stars Connection makes them brothers under the skins. I’d be more sympathetic toward Taylor, except he only has one more sack than Warren sapp has had this year, and Sapp is retired.

Is poolman the same guy who used to post up here as vaherder? Or was vaherder killed when his herd stampeded?

+++God, I love Olive Garden. Haven't been there in something like 17 years, but those breadsticks...mmmmm.

You must be the kind of person familiar with the pleasures of Wonderbread and Cheese Whiz.

Trust that's not where you guys ate last nite...

Sorry Poolman - have fun reading everyone elses comments.

Rypien, the best way to respond to someone whose primary mission is to agitate: don't.

Now I will likely fade into greater obscurity, and enjoy the show. Also no more mention of he whose name shall not bear uttering.

Oh, I don't give a darn about his 'message' he came here to preach, I won't ever comment on that; I'm just tired of having to scroll through repeated posts of his to get to straight football talk, which is what should ONLY be on this blog.

CINDY, lay down the law....

Let's go LIONS!!!!!!

Posted by: michael_b_clegg | November 23, 2008 2:49 PM | Report abuse

Admit it LaCanfora, you used your influence with Goodell to make sure the skins played at Seattle this year so you could hang with PDX and Ditty.

Detroit is freaking terrible.

Jacksonville is also terrible - I can't believe people thought theyd be Super Bowl contenders this year.

Posted by: Rypien11 | November 23, 2008 2:55 PM | Report abuse

I dont think that was on you clegg, I think the Lions could be blessed by the pope before each game and still lose em.
