Gregg Williams Update

FOX is reporting that Gregg is a candidate for the Miami job, although it is no secret that Parcells has some of his guys in line for that thing, with Dallas assistant head coach Tony Sparano seen as the top dog by far.

According to league sources, the Dolphins have not contacted thye Redskins yet for permission to interview Williams. This being a Sunday, it would not be surprising if Skins got a fax tomorrow in that regard. Teams by rule have 24 hours to inform a coach in such a situation about the request.

Williams has gone out of his way let everyone out here know over the years how much he loves doing this job, how much he loves Joe Gibbs and he is obviously seen as a primo candidate to replace Joe Gibbs when that day comes. His children are in high school here and thriving and Williams is not a guy who wants to spread himself around and interview all over the place.

But he would certainly have every right to interview. We'll see what develops of this and I'll keep you guys posted. Jay Glazer has somne ins with Parcells people, so they very well would want to talk to Gregg.
