Westbrook has concussion; Griffin back (updated)

Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook suffered a concussion in the first quarter of Monday's game and caused a brief scare at FedEx Field when he remained on the turf for a few minutes without visible movement of his extremities. He was not expected to return to the game.

The injury occurred when Westbrook's helmet collided with Redskins linebacker London Fletcher's knee. Redskins cornerback Byron Westbrook, Brian's brother, came onto the field while Brian was being attended by the Eagles' training staff.

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb consoled Byron and Eagles Coach Andy Reid motioned for him to stay on the field. Byron was by Brian's side when Brian stood, minutes after the collision, and received applause from the FedEx Field crowd. Fletcher spoke to Brian Westbrook, too.

Westbrook walked off the field on his power. The Pro Bowl running back is a Washington native who attended DeMatha Catholic.

The Eagles already have 123 yards of offense in 7 minutes. What is the over/under on the skins gaining that many yards in the first half?

Nice of Sherman Lewis to call the Eagles holding. That's the sort of play calling that Vinnie was looking for.

WHEN IS THE SHI# GOING TO END, WHY DOES THIS TEAM CONSTANTLY THROW 3-4 YARD PASSES ON 3RD AND 8? TIME AND TIME AGAIN, IT'S 3RD AND 7 OR 8 AND THE QB THROWS A 3-4 YARD PASS

lol...why no play action on that 2nd and 1? 2nd and 1 is considered a free down in the NFL, and we're just content with a first down. no wonder we can never score...offenses arent designed to have 20 play drives for 80 yards.

FIRE DANNY SMITH!!!!!! ROC IS WEAK, which make a special note that I wanted him cut this summer and ARE is pathetic! Great guy, but enough of him back there.... No one is afraid of us... we have ZERO speed therefore, the opposition doesn't attack us, the play base coverage and it works.

what the hell is jason thinking on that play? he has about 10 yards of real estate in front of him and he's still thinking of throwing the ball while SCRAMBLING TO THE LEFT SIDE? Right handed QBs cannot do that. they should only throw on the run when they're running right. what a dumbass. and this was on a 1st down too. goodness.

Flether and Cooley are the only reasons I'm still watching the 'skins right now.

Fire the back office, simplify the coaching and play-calling process and we'll be a better team ... you know, Keep It Simple, Snyder!!
