Should the Skins put Cooley on the IR? YES

Posted by: Diesel44 | December 6, 2009 3:05 PM | Report abuse

I just wished we'd been playing like this from the very beginning. We are hanging tough with the good teams. We're competitive. Things are definitely looking up.

Posted by: rachel216 | December 6, 2009 3:06 PM | Report abuse

Special teams this year is the worst unit.

Posted by: League-Source | December 6, 2009 3:07 PM | Report abuse

These polls during the game = Zorn's play calling in the red zone.

Seriously, Who is the dude in the 11 jersey?

They fumble and it rolls out of bound. wtf

Posted by: Diesel44 | December 6, 2009 3:08 PM |

Referee kicked it out of bounds, like in the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial.

Posted by: League-Source | December 6, 2009 3:09 PM | Report abuse

bad call on the squib kick. giving up 20 yards of field position to the most explosive offense rarely ends up being a good decision.

Posted by: kman2 | December 6, 2009 3:09 PM | Report abuse

That sounds like something a talent evaluator would say.

I missed that one, I just remember Zorn talking about bringing him back w/ 3 or 4 games left.

Posted by: Diesel44 | December 6, 2009 3:11 PM | Report abuse

God, can we keep it at least a two possession game? I don't want my heart broken for a third straight week.

He's not saying anything. We brought in an extra pair of eyes, and he wasn't getting it done. We're calling his plays for him now.

We would have killed the Skins for calling that slow-developing play on 4th down.

Posted by: farstriker | December 6, 2009 3:12 PM | Report abuse

Sean Payton looks like a mass murderer with his creepy leather gloves.

Great stand there on 3rd and 4th down by the D!

Well, there was some backing-and-forthing on that one. Plus they've been dropping so fast that you can't tell the players without a program. Time for Portis to IR, now.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: DEVIN THOMAS

Posted by: MyPostIDisAfake | December 6, 2009 3:14 PM | Report abuse

Breakout game for DT today!

Posted by: -swb | December 6, 2009 3:14 PM | Report abuse

Campbell will be a Redskin next year if he can STEP IT UP for the next 24:22 of this game. this game can be like the LaVar Interception in 2001 vs the Panthers. The defining drive.

Let's take a look at the dark lining to this silver cloud. Vinny might stay if DT, FD, and MK keep it up, and if this team shows life late in the season.

Posted by: kman2 | December 6, 2009 3:19 PM | Report abuse

maybe a 14 point swing on the dropped INT and the TD to DT. Saints got some huge breaks in the 1st half, time for things to even out

Posted by: zcezcest1 | December 6, 2009 3:19 PM | Report abuse

Is it fair to say the light has come on for DT.

He's making a lot of people, as he yelled after a catch earlier "eat Sh*t".

Posted by: Diesel44 | December 6, 2009 3:19 PM | Report abuse

I know I shouldn't be thinking about this, but I couldn't help it. What if they had held on against Dallas And Philly? They'd be playing for 6-6 today. Buuuummmmeeerrrr

Posted by: -swb | December 6, 2009 3:19 PM | Report abuse

Yeah, you know I kind of agree about them having 3 CBs out, but this is still an awfully good team and aside from the freak end to the half, we've crunched a high powered offense.

Posted by: fan-o-matic | December 6, 2009 3:20 PM | Report abuse

we havent led by 10 ALL SEASON!!! the 10 point lead vs Denver doesnt count cause we got the FG after they turned over on downs with no timeouts.

unbelieveable. this is a real offense!!!!!!

Posted by: kman2 | December 6, 2009 3:22 PM | Report abuse

Okay, so three TD passes by Campbell ties a career high- how long does it usually take a top QB to get 3 TDs?? Just sayin', I'd love it if Jason suddenly gets his groove on, but it has been a long process, right?? Go Jason, though..

Posted by: frak | December 6, 2009 3:22 PM | Report abuse

Someone needs to give an honest answer as to what has changed for this team to make them play like a real team?

I think its got to do with Levi getting in the line.

This is the team the Skins would of had at the beginning of the season if they had the personnel policy that most successful NFL teams have... (Giants, Pats, Colts, etc)

Which is, you play the better player from each successive practice or previous game that earns the next STart.. NOT THE SIZE OF THE CONTRACT. Thus only now that the Fat Contract players are out injured do you see players that are hungry to play and win.

Posted by: SkinsneedaGM | December 6, 2009 3:29 PM | Report abuse

BRUNELLLLLLLL....haha great to see him. my second best fedex memories was his OT pass to Moss to beat the Jaguars.
first of course being the blocked FG return by ST21 (RIP) and the FG with no time on clock to beat the Cowpukes.

Posted by: frak | December 6, 2009 3:22 PM | Report abuse

It's a long process because we suck at developing quarterbacks. We had no other real pass catchers until the 2008 draft then when they started coming on our offensive line and running game pooped the bed. In addition to all that we changed offenses 3 times and had to deal with Zorn's playcalling and bad play design. You say it's been 5 years he should have learned it by now but "it" had changed every year.

Posted by: suzannepdc | December 6, 2009 3:41 PM | Report abuse

I posted this several times after the eagles game, maybe Zorn read it...NOT
-----------
IMO, here's what every skins offensive player should do:
They need to sit Zorn, & both Shermans’ down and let them know that they are sick and tired of this conservative play calling. They are fed up with playing it safe. They have had it up to here with playing “not to lose”. Let the coaches know that they want to play a wide open offense, they want to take chances, and they want to attack the end zone. When it’s 3rd and 10, they don’t want any more fu&&%$# screen passes. When it’s 3rd and 11, they want the QB to throw the damn ball at least 12 yards down field. If it’s 3rd and one at the opponent’s 21 yard, they don’t want to kick any more fu&&%$# field goals. Let the coaches know that you want to play to win the mother fu&&%%$ game.

Posted by: kingpenn1 | December 6, 2009 3:49 PM | Report abuse

I don't think I know anything and perhaps I am wrong in putting the blame purely on JC's shoulders, but the fact that Devin and Malcom are suddenly getting open is making me realize that perhaps the problem was with JZ's conservative play calling (and lack of trust of JC).
