Redskins Trail 10-7 at Halftime

How about football? Skins go 345 offensive plays to start season without an offensive turnover, then fumble on consecutive drives, two offensive turnovers in the span of 11 plays. Guess they were due. Poor snap by Rabach on the second fumble, which is out of character for him. Then the Pete Kendall fumble was nuts - you can't catch the ball there, knock it down if anything. Wow. Crazy. Three turnovers in a 17-play span.

The Rams called timeout with 2:15 left and that should have been huge, giving the Redskins an extra play. They were backed up deep anyway, doing all of that shifting mumbo-jumbo Al Saunders likes so much. The timeout and INC caused a punt with 2:12 left, and the Skins got to run an extra play before the two-inute warning, which was a first-own pass to Cooley.

Then Cooley makes the huge diving catch to get it down to the 16 - great hands on a ball that was overthrown a tad, able to hold the ball after contact - and the Skins have points. Saunders has to livid over the timeout.

But Kendall catching that batted pass was beyond silly. He knows better than that. And there you have three straight series with a turnover, 7 back the other way. Wow.

If it's me, I'm bringing in punters Tuesday. This experiment has gone on long enough. The Skins are playing too many close games and field position is so big - and now they're no longer immune to turnovers.

Another short one from Brooks, whose confidence has clearly taken a hit.

Overall, Skins have looked sloppy and slow on offense.

This is just horrendous. Maybe this is the wakeup call the team needs to convince itself that it's not invincible. Still, though, this is ugly. But games like this do happen.

Well all I can say is that the Skins have been pun k slapped right in the kisser. Three turnovers didn't help either. Said earlier that these are the kind of games that can come up and bite you right where the sun doesn't shine. Let's see if this team can maintain it's cool and not make a bad situation worse.

Strange! I was afraid of this, and it's happening. But at least, defense is still decent... Offense seems to be reliving its old rotten days.
