Skins Down 10-7 at Halftime

Looks like a battle of West Coast teams sticking with the run.

Jim Zorn has to go that way with pass protection issues, and it's also effective. Clinton Portis, who has a slight hip sprain and is probable to return, has 69 yards at the half and Maurice Morris has rushed seven times for 72 yards for the Seahawks.

That last drive by Seattle was troubling. They blew up the ends in the outside running game and Matt Hasselbeck finally looks like he has a clue, finding a tempo. That pass to Koren Robinson, where he finally looked right, might end up as a turning point in the game.

Santana Moss, pass interference call aside, is having a tough day in press-man coverage for the second straight week. His personal foul could have been crushing.

Basically, it's the kind of grind-it-out game I expected.

this is without a doubt, the worst offense in the NFL.

This O Line need to get their sht together.

Posted by: icetotalpackage | November 23, 2008 5:47 PM | Report abuse

Keep the running game going. It'll open up everything else. I know Tana is a good player, but JC/Zorn has to look to the other WR's to make plays. The D has to figure out how to stop the outside zone plays.

Posted by: TWISI | November 23, 2008 5:48 PM | Report abuse

folks, this is so reminiscent of the Norv teams that started the year well and then faded terribly down the stretch.

Come on Skins get it going!!

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 23, 2008 5:49 PM | Report abuse

This offense just simply cannot score any points. We're always driving and then we stall, penalty, missed FG, batted ball down...etc. Also, two weeks in a row where we cannot stop the run. BTW, why does Zorn always want the ball first, we never do anything with it, why doesn't he just defer it? Cause now Seattle has momentum and the ball back for the second half. Watching our offense makes you pull your hair out, seriously.

Posted by: rachel216 | November 23, 2008 5:51 PM | Report abuse

zorn HAS TO throw to the Rooks. Just has to happen, otherwise this offense is 14 points at best per game...

Posted by: BeantownGreg | November 23, 2008 5:51 PM | Report abuse

I'm starting to get that feeling too RedskinRay1.

Posted by: TWISI | November 23, 2008 5:51 PM | Report abuse

TWISI I agree with you. I think they are trying to go to Moss way too much and it is hurting the passing game.

JM220

Posted by: icetotalpackage | November 23, 2008 5:51 PM | Report abuse

I've not got that much hair left to pull out...

Posted by: BeantownGreg | November 23, 2008 5:51 PM | Report abuse

The Danny should invest in a P and PK in this year's draft. Perhaps Vinny could use a 1st and 2nd round pick on them (insert sarcasm)

Posted by: mohammed10 | November 23, 2008 5:52 PM | Report abuse

SEA wants this game more. The opening kickoff is a disgrace.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 5:53 PM | Report abuse

good start...not

Posted by: BeantownGreg | November 23, 2008 5:53 PM | Report abuse

Where's Leigh Torrance?

Posted by: TWISI | November 23, 2008 5:53 PM | Report abuse

Look for SEA to go up 17-7 or 13-7.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 5:54 PM | Report abuse

Wait, wasn't Seattle's offense supposed to be anemic???

Posted by: mohammed10 | November 23, 2008 5:54 PM | Report abuse

i want to vomit. this is completely ridiculous. if the skins never play another game in seattle, i will be pleased.

Posted by: braker19cleartheline | November 23, 2008 5:54 PM | Report abuse

I think that SEA wants this game more. The Redskins aren't even trying. Same old sh!t, same old cr#p, year in, year out.

Yes, knocking Norv is truthful
and the memories are so painful as they were always promising but short on coming through under pressure.

"We just couldn't make any plays today..."

JM220

Posted by: icetotalpackage | November 23, 2008 6:00 PM | Report abuse

They seem to be moving the ball. But this is still a 2-8 team. They should be dominating this game. Or maybe I am whining too much.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 6:00 PM | Report abuse

Should they go for it?

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 6:01 PM | Report abuse

HUGE 1st down

Posted by: mohammed10 | November 23, 2008 6:02 PM | Report abuse

First down! And now, with that play, WAS goes over 100 yards in rushing. They win most of their games when they cross that threshold.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 6:02 PM | Report abuse

yeah Beantown, radio went out...now more delayed than normal...

And yes jiacinto, you whine to much....

Posted by: chrislarry | November 23, 2008 6:03 PM | Report abuse

They just described Seattle's line as a green wall.

Color blind much?

Posted by: Realness1 | November 23, 2008 6:03 PM | Report abuse

Dangerous pass there.

JCam throws crappy pass to Kelly....

Posted by: knight1977 | November 23, 2008 6:03 PM | Report abuse

Do like how Campbell is willing to scamper like Donovan McNabb used to in his heyday.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 6:04 PM | Report abuse

The simple fact is that the Skins are still not a very good team. They won a few games eaarly on - but their offensive line is abyssmal, passing game still not ready for big league, defense okay but still giving up too many big plays. I honestly don't know when this team is truly going to be in contention in the NFL -- they're certainly not there yet.

Posted by: mike_dc | November 23, 2008 6:04 PM | Report abuse

Think Swiss Ham can make this one???

Posted by: mohammed10 | November 23, 2008 6:04 PM | Report abuse

send in th Kicker AGAIN.....

Posted by: knight1977 | November 23, 2008 6:04 PM | Report abuse

can this team ever score inside the red zone with regularity?

Posted by: 1buj | November 23, 2008 6:04 PM | Report abuse

Ok, so the hit on the kicker is called off for this week.

Posted by: alex35332 | November 23, 2008 6:05 PM | Report abuse

Another F'n field goal!

Posted by: Curzon417 | November 23, 2008 6:05 PM | Report abuse

The one downside is that we are letting SEA stay in the game, much like what happened with STL, DAL, and PIT.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 23, 2008 6:05 PM | Report abuse

Damn the radio delay is killing me right now...

Posted by: chrislarry | November 23, 2008 6:06 PM | Report abuse

Wait, what?

Posted by: Curzon417 | November 23, 2008 6:09 PM | Report abuse

Nope ur not whining. It is what it is. IMO the playoff hopes are hanging right here in this balance. We need TD's. In reality, I think the Sklins' are doing the best they can with what they have. THIS IS NOT A DOMINATE TEAM BY ANY MEANS and other teams are catching up to what the Skins'are doing. First half of the season Skins' were winning with smoke and mirrors...well the smoke is gone and the mirrors are clouded and now it is time to play hard nosed kick-azz football. Let's see if our Skins can man up or punk out. Peace out dudes.

Posted by: renaw9 | November 23, 2008 6:09 PM | Report abuse

The defense stinks today!!! I predict a big pass play this series. Actually, JC isn't playing that badly. We took some shots down the field, receivers just didn't make plays.

Posted by: rickyroge | November 23, 2008 6:09 PM | Report abuse

Anybody interested in tackling Morris? Geez

LARON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: chrislarry | November 23, 2008 6:13 PM | Report abuse

I guess that I whine because I am tired of always watching this team and see it lose games that it should win. So many of the losses of the last sixteen years have occurred in games that were winnable were it not for stupid Redskin penalties, fumbles, dropped passes, turnovers, blown coverage, missed FG's, and other minor miscues.

This team has the potential and the talent to win. With the exception of a few very bad years this team has had the ability to compete. It's their mistakes and miscues that bring them down. That's what bothers me.

I'd feel differently if we were DET or CIN fans. With the exception of a few good years both franchises have never gone anywhere. But WAS has won and they have had the talent.

It's like, for whatever reason, they can never get to the next step. That's what bothers me.
