Skins Lead by 10 at Halftime
This turned out to be one of the better quarters of the season (with the game turning, by the way, on that bizarre Martz formation and call on third-and-one).
The Redskins scored on three straight drives, which is pretty rare, and put up two TDs in the same quarter after scoring just seven offensive TDs in the previous seven games.
They spread the ball around in the red zone, and have Clinton Portis is good form now. Carlos Rogers jumped a route and held onto a slip-sliding ball for a big INT (Carlos Rogers held onto the ball?), and returned it 31 yards to set up a field goal. And Suisham actually connected on the field goal.
Jason Campbell is doing some excellent work, protecting the football and making huge third down plays with his feet. His last run inside the red zone, holding off the DB blitz, was as gutsy as it gets.
All in all, appears the Redskins are primed to end the season on a high note. The defense has buckled down entirely after allowing San Fran to hold the ball for 10 minutes in the first quarter, and QB Shaun Hill is looking rattled after opening 5-for-5 in the first quarter.
Skins will hold the lead and finish 9-7. Take it to the bank.

Did you fall asleep for the last dozen years or so? Hope you're right, but they can find a way to lose (or tie; thanks Gus).

Amazing, amazing. I remember 90% of the so called "experts" who express there Redskins frustration, calling for Zorn and Campbell's head. Funny because these 2 can make this work. If they beat the Bengals or Rams we're in the playoffs. You know what though, even if the Skins did make it we wouldn't have made it to the NFC title game. Zorn 1st year going 9-7 would be pretty damn good. If the Skins can draft some lineman on both sides of the ball, maybe we can actually make the playoffs next year and have a chance to actually advance deep in the playoffs.
Anyone see Campbell dodge that sack and get the 1st down? Collins wouldn't have done that and Colt wouldn't have either. So please stop with this benching Campbell nonsense. 3rd qtr kickoff, go Skins!!

No fan of Pac-Man Jones, but that flag for the tackle was ticky-tack.
Looked to me like he started throwing him when he was still on the green (inbounds).
Aside from that, Aikman is doing a fine job of blaming Romo's horrible throws on Roy Williams.

Zorn has proven once again he doesn't understand simple clock management. He should have saved his time out prior to the 4th down call so they could get the ball back if the play failed. But if you are going to call a to at least wait till the time runs down so SF doesn't have much time left. Instead he calls a TO right away. They will never ever ever win with him.
