Skins Get Within 5 at the Half
The Redskins have changed the momentum of this bad boy completely.
They have run on the Philly D that was first in the NFL and giving up something like 2.9 yards per carry. The Eagles allowed some sustained drives, some long drives, and even though the Redskins settled for 3 instead of 7 at the end of thehalf, they've come back from what looked like it might be a blowout early.
Take away the Jackson return, and the Skins are owning this thing.
Jason Campbell settled into a groove in the second quarter after a brutal start and the Skins are doing a fine job of picking up the blitz for the most part, getting going on third downs now as well.
This should be a heck of a second half. If Andre Carter can keep up his fine outing, and Portis and Betts can deliver the kind of big runs to the edge (esepcailly on the left side), I like the chances of a comeback here.

But I don't like the idea of buttoning everything together in the SECOND HALF of a game. Play to win, not to catch up.
I would love for Washington to win this game, because then the analysts, the rest of the league, EVERYONE will HAVE to take Washington quite seriously.

TOTALLY worth it! This is my first year and I signed up in July when I moved to Texas and got some crazy promotion so it's practically free (plus I get ALL the movie channels). Next year I'll have to buck up hte $250, but for hte 6-8 games I'll need it (going to 4 games and we have some nationally televised games), I would spend more sitting in a bar. Plus, my only TV option right now is Indy/Texans. And you can watch other games at the half - or if things get boring. I am a fan. Don't seem to get the Skins pregame stuff though for some reason.
Posted by: suzannepdc | October 5, 2008 3:09 PM | Report abuse
I don't get Sunday ticket (can't possibly watch any more fubball)... but got to see it last week when I was running the west coast fan experience)... I liked the red zone channel, and you never (? almost never, I guess) have to worry about missing a game.
Only at the cost of your firstborn. Seems like a fair trade to me!

If we get only 3, a touchdown beats us.

They did just switch the NY game to this one.
I'm stationed at Luke AFB in horrible, boring, hot-ass Phoenix, and as soon as suzanne mentioned it, I left my Dorm to go see if it was this game they switched to.
Somehow, in between the 15 seconds it took for me to go from my room to the TV room, Portis got into the redzone on that one play. I missed it. Damnit.
Oh well. Clinton Earl Portis is just that fast.
Don't know if you all know it, but Philly only has ONE FIRST DOWN SINCE THE FIRST QUARTER.
H.T.T.R. The game ain't over yet, but I'm sayin it. As a matter of fact, I'll say it again.

"and even though the Redskins settled for 3 instead of 7 at the end of thehalf"
Are you kidding me?? You really think they should have been going for 7 in that situation?
