Skins Trail 10-6 at the Half
Each team has been given some outstanding field position by special teams or their defense; the Steelers were the only team to get into the end zone after the blocked punt, and thus they lead, 10-6.
The Skins have to make some adjustments, obviously, after getting 66 net yards in the first half. They want to spread the field, but all four first-half sacks have come on three-wide sets or more, and given how few yards the Skins are generating, even a five-yard loss on a sack is a lot to overcome.

demonj21 I feel that we are trying to go to Moss too much. Get Cooley and ARE into the game. I think we can move the ball by going to them then hit Moss over the top. Jasen ass needs to block better.

Steeler points came from blocked punt and pass interference. Ours came from int and on sides kick. Both D's are basically shutting the O out. Zorn needs to do something to adjust and get the ball downfield. We'll see if he's capable against a stout D.

In the passing game I'd like to see more shotgun formation and some crossing routes. The D or special teams need to get skins a TO.

Nothing about the blocked punt from Mr.Negative? Had that been Brooks' blocked punt, Mr. Negative would already have castrated him. But Mr Plakemeier can do no wrong.

I'd like to see Zorn stick with the run some more. Obviously Campbell needs to step up and make some passes, but I don't think they should give up on the run, even if it's been pretty much shut down the 1st half.

$@#!$ Rogers!
Had he caught that INT that was a pick 6! Changes dynamic completely. Instead he drops it, Pitt punts, skins go 3 and out as they have all night and we get the blocked punt turning into the TD.
Skins haven't gotten 1 first down all game. Regarldless of the D playing lights out, they have been on the field waaaay too long. Skins aren't gonna win this one this way, not even by a long shot!

JM220, I agree. I think we need keep trying to run the ball. The steelers look like they aren't tired because they are not doing much but stopping the pass. We need to worn them out even though we get little yards from the run. For now, the Skins look predictable.

"Punter's doing well? - one for 21 yds., another blocked, Sorry. Guess we're not watching the same game."
The 21 yarder - if that's how long it was - was probably that punt that pinned the Steelers behind the 10 yd. line, if you were paying attention.

Look, if we don't pull something out and win this, it's not a big deal. I'll take 6-3 going into the bye week. Of course there are some big question marks with the offense, but they'll have a couple weeks to hopefully figure some things out.
That said, I hope we don't get totally spanked. And some kind of offensive revival would be awesome.

Okay. Let's get the D in there and make it happen.
Sad that the INT-less streak is over. Of course, last week, a partner in my office thought that I had completely made it up that Campbell had not thrown a INT b/c that wasn't possible - then I told him that the streak for the team started LAST season.

The O was moving the ball on that last drive. We need a defensive stop here and we can still win this game.

Aussie, a bit of both... it was too high, and Portis deflected it up when he couldn't get it.

Man the Skins' just cant catch a break at all. They are not playing bad ball. So far look at two plays; Rogers muffed int -- again -- (the man couldn't. catch a cold in an ice storm in Siberia) and the blocked punt. That Defense is getting a bit winded though. come on Skins!!!!

I want to thank some of you tard fans.....your lame comments are keeping me form getting down to much b/c I dont want to sound like you morons.....

Good night all. See you after the break. If we can go 4-3 from here, we'll get a wildcard. Maybe even host.....lots of football left this season. If we lose tonight, we got beat by a better team.

Please, no more of this idea that carlos rogers is a pro bowler.
10-6 and maybe a playoff spot, thats it!

Can't let them Stillers get another td though that would definitely put this gameout of reach the weay our offense is going. Wow! look at play.....its over folks.

CL: Once this season already (NO) and at least once more (BMore) I won't be able to follow this game anyway other than here (I'll be in Miami both times). I'm not a "oh woe!" kind of guy normally... just tired of cardiac kids. I want to see us pull this out.
Darn it, what the heck was THAT play? That's the fourth bad play on Defense that was huge.

Yeah that blocked punt and the missed Rogers INT is what turned the game against WAS.

I think we're just beat up and in need of a bye week. I am worried about Dallas being out for blood in two weeks since lots of their injured players will be back and they'll think they have something to prove.

Posted by: jiacinto | November 3, 2008 11:04 PM
No, actually not. It was the offensive breakdowns and the inability to sustain a drive or score a TD.

What the hell has happened since that Blocked punt, the D hasm't made a stop by the looks of things, what has caused this massive turnaround in the game, it just doesnt make sense the Steelers seem to be hjust moving the ball as they please all of a sudden, why? is someone injuted? do we have anything that even resembles a pass rush at the moment??

Outscored 23-0. Where is Jim Zorn and his genious? I hope most of the interested observers understand this is still a Gibbs product and a Gibbs' story being told. Get used to it.
People don't change, only attitudes. And this team is still a Gibbs incarnation and Jim Zorn is still learning. Jason Campbell may not be the answer but Jim Zorn is. Keep faith in your coach and tea,m but please, Danny don't pay your quarterback. Its a mirage, much like
Bruce Smith et al.

Jason Campbell is a FRAUD. Much like the Palin candidacy, once the tough questions are asked the sobering answerings tell the story. Please, please, Danny Boy do not pay Jason Campbell. It is fools gold.
And what we know about Danny boy, there's no chance he doesn't overpay for an underperforming overhyped....

Maybe I am being too pessimistic. But we need to do something during the second half.
