Hall voting and a Zone topic

Members of the Pro Football Writers Association voted for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2010 this morning -- will it include Russ Grimm?.The group will be announced shortly after 5:30 p.m. on the NFL Network.

In the Zone ...

Today, in the snowy Redskins Tailgate Zone, moderator Matt "Bobby" McFarland asks which players the Redskins should consider trading. Join the discussion now; it's either that or do more shoveling.

'72 ignore Vicc. He's a professional moron and his idiocy goes well beyond football.

TAKE THE HOF AWAY FROM THE MEDIA!!!
I think the fact the media decides the HOF inductees is BS. They never played the game and many carry grudges forever (I know a few). Case in point, its the primary reason Monk had difficulty.. He turned down a couple of interviews on gameday back in the 80's..and he is blocked from the HOF for 15 years. If his peers were the voters (ie. other players)...he would of been in on first ballot.

The best system would be current HOF members making the majority decision for new inductees... The media can have representatives involved, presenting HOF player credentials..ie "cases". But, the overall decision should lie with the ones who played the game and own the HOF.. The Players.

The NFLPA should spearhead this change.

Good one. I might have cracked a rib. Your hilarity deserves an equally hilarious response, so here goes: "If he'd said Amateur Moron, he'd have been GOP."

I'd rather have media blowhards in charge than azz hat morons like Micheal Irvin.

*SHOCKER*

the mackquisto comes around to insult others AND offer no football or Redskin insight.
Hey mack1...talk about sports much?

Sure i offer my moronic insight on non football topics also.

Go Skins buddy.

True Irvin is an asshat but the guy knows football. He makes some pretty good arguments and has a pretty good knowledge of footballs history. As much as I hated him as a player he's alright on NFL network.

If you are participating in any of the "organized" snowball fights, you are homosexual.

(not that there's anything wrong with that...I have friends that are gay)

I laughed at that one. Anyone that believes in gov't rule and dole over personal responsibility is a phuking moron.

Former FEMA chief Michael Brown is picking the Colts over the Saints tomorrow.

Looks like "Brownie" is going to abandon New Orleans all over again.

I just shoveled enough snow to last me a lifetime, and I'm still not even close to being done. This sh_t just keeps coming, enough already.

Posted by: Flounder21 | February 6, 2010 3:22 PM | Report abuse

So what are the totals?

Any where in the neighborhood of 2 and a half feet is a LOT of snow.

Seems this event has wetter, heavier snow than the fluffy stuff from Dec?

www.nola.com is reporting grimm makes the hof!!!!!

He is the first player who spent the bulk of his career with the Saints to be selected for enshrinement.

Jackson, who spent 13 years in with the Saints (1981-93) before finishing his career with the San Francisco 49ers (1994-95) where he earned a Super Bowl ring with the 49ers, will be inducted into the shrine in Canton, Ohio, birthplace of the NFL, in late summer.

"...Joining Rickey Jackson is San Francisco wide receiver Jerry Rice, Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, Minnesota VIkings defensive tackle John Randle and Washington Redskins guard Russ Grimm."

don't know how reliable their news site is, but hopefully it's true!!!!
