Haynesworth says he spoke out of frustration

When Albert Haynesworth dressed at his locker in the hour after the Redskins' 17-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night, a media throng gathered to hear Haynesworth speak publicly for the first time since he aired his differences with defensive coordinator Greg Blache in a Christmas Day interview the Post's Jason Reid.

Some highlights:

Haynesworth was asked why he waited to speak up about his complaints: "Just frustration, we being - what are we, 4-11 now, or 4-10 at that point? Just frustrated. I'm a competitor. I want to win, no matter what I do. I want to win. Like in the offseason, as far as boats and stuff like that, I got to have the fastest boat. I got to have the fastest car, which got me in trouble a few times. I always want to win at whatever I do. So the same thing with football. This is my livelihood. I'm very competitive. I definitely hate to lose no matter what."

Haynesworth was also asked if he thought, because he is one of the highest-paid players in the league, that he should take a leadership role. "A contract don't make you, as far as leadership. I've never beeen a guy that wants to talk or get in front of the team and say whatever. That's not me. I just like to play the game and do that. I'm not the kind of guy who wants to hype up people and all that stuff. I'm not sure. I don't even want to be a captain and go out there in the middle for the coin toss because the other team is the enemy."

Haynesworth was told to leave practice Friday after he arrived late for a meeting that morning. He said players treated him, upon his return, "same as every other Saturday. There was nothing different. We hung out. We talked. Whatever."

He also said he talked to Blache about the situation.

"I talked to Blache, and we're all great," Haynesworth said. "Everything's fine. We're grown men. You can disagree, and that's fine. We don't hate each other. There's no hate. No love lost or anything between us. We're still the same."

Haynesworth finished by saying he didn't regret signing with Washington in the offseason, and he again blamed his outburst on the team's results, not his own play.

"Like I said Monday night, it's frustration," he said. "I'm sick of losing. I'm not a loser. This team's not losers. We're a good team. We got a lot of talent. We just need to put it together."

Dear Albert,

Please take advantage of the offseason to improve your physical conditioning. Your new teammates, the fans, the new coaches, everyone will appreciate it. Plus, you'll be a more effective player and a better person for it.

Sincerely,
Chia Pet

Dear Jason Campbell,

Although I still question whether you are good enough to be a starting QB in the NFL, you have earned my respect, nonetheless.

Sincerely,
Chia Pet

P.S
Part of me will always wonder what might have been for your career as a Redskin had you benefited from a stable supporting structure.

Dear Jim Zen,

I always liked you. You had me at "maroon and black." You're goofy and sincere and have spikey hair. I thought you would be an excellent mentor and teacher for these young men. Not quite sure what happened, but I'm sorry, and nice try, kinda...

Warmest Regards,
Chia Pet

P.S.
Dan Snyder's Redskins won't do much better without you next season, which may or may not be of some consolation to you.

Dear Dan Snyder,

You bug me.

Standing up there laughing with Bruce Allen in the owner's box while your team was getting shut out by the Cowboys at home at the end of an embarrassing 2009 campaign was horrible, a ghastly sight. You're a complete idiot.

Sincerely,
Chia Pet

P.S
Nobody really likes or respects you, save for Saint Joe.

Dear Robert Henson,

I hope they cut your sorry arse and that you'll be lucky enough to land a job as a fry cook at Popeye's next year.

McDonald's would be a reach for you.

Sincerely,
Chia Pet

Plus, I don't want you messing up my Big Mac: two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

After seeing Kareem Moore do his best Laron Landry impersonation three or four times, I'm wondering if maybe Blatche has the safeties playing so far back that they're forced to run upfield so fast that they are prone to whiff on tackles.

Also, seems London Fletcher inexplicably does a much better job of covering Witten than Landry does.

Also, Orakpo is not a linebacker. Not even close, so just stop with that crap.

Also, if Snyder understood football at all, he'd have cut Will Montgomery like he did Suisham. That fool is terrible.

Bruce Allen, show the door to the following players, Randy Thomas, Rabach, Will Montgomery, Stephen Heyer, Mike Sellers, ARE, anyone over the age of 33 except for LFB. We need to rebuild through the draft, the real draft. Not the one where Danny and Vinny would draw random names out of a hat and make the fan base scratch their heads. We need an almost completely new offensive line, we need a true free safety, we need a corner who doesn't bite on every single pump fake and can catch the ball (Unlike CR), we need an outside linebacker so we can put Osackpo at DE. Let's accomplish this over the next three drafts. Make it happen Bruce, Danny you just need to shutup and stay the fcku out of the war room. You've screwed this team up enough.

Blache sucks! He is a carry over from the Gibbs regime and its so obvious that he doesn't belong. Redskins started the season ranked 4th in the league in D and then go past 10th AFTER investing 125 Million on D? Fat Albert is RIGHT!

"I definitely hate to lose no matter what."

The only thing Fat Albert hates to lose is WEIGHT. Maybe if you had come into the season in shape and STAYED in shape, Al, we might have had more success at blowing up the opponents inside... But it's all about YOU, ain't it? Just take your $41 mill of Danny's money and ride into the sunset, just like Deion and others before you...

Stop talking and start committing to the team instead of yourself -- until then, you'll always be a loser around here...

See, that's the problem. You're too worried about your toys in the off season. How about having the fastest treadmill....

Very nice Chia, have to agree on Soup not sure he is a starter in this league but respect the hell out of him for the beating he is taking, and taking the high road. I think they must bring him back and draft replacement. To many other holes to fill + qb, draft o-line,F. saftey, OLB, o-line,RB and o-line. I believe this team is closer than people think and just needs coaching, for the love of God Blache blitz every now and then, create pressure you just let Homo sit back there all night. The Iggles blitz constantly and it works, if the did not blitz they would be average like us, we have too much talent on D to look like we did last night. Go to the 3-4 and let Orakpo loose.

Is Haynesworth accurate in his criticism of Blatche and his defensive philosophy on how best to use Albert's skill set? Probably. However, what about being in shape enough - Albert - to play without taking every other down off? I think that would show Albert's dedication to the team and show his leadership abilities of which we've seen absolutely none this year.

It's a symptom of what's wrong from the top to the bottom. Arrogance over teamwork. No one team, one goal philosophy. What kind of offense will this team be? Okay then get players to fit in that scheme or adjust the scheme to fit the players you have. It's not rocket science.

Add $41 million
Result: typical Redskins headcase blowout

You would think with all that money he would have a full time PR person on staff to advise him when to shut up!
