Marty's Pants. Yes, Marty's Pants.

Here's a little halftime-of-the-first-game entertainment from Steinberg. Check out Marty's pants -- something Dan does just a liiiitttttle too often -- from a classique John McDonnell photo.

Fred Smoot took time out this week to teach children to hate on the Cowboys. Of course, Steinberg was there, too, and mercifully did not ask Smoot about Marty's pants.

Loseable Type ate an entry because I hit my computer with a mallet I neglected to send you to DeAngelo Hall's interview at the Wiz game the other night (three sports -- Wiz, Skins and TB!) so here you go. Is it 8:30 yet?

Cindy,

How long is your day today? You showed up for work around 11 or 12, spent a while getting coffee, visiting, and losing the clicker, then sat down and started putting out the hampster kibble. What time do you expect to walk out of the building tonight?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 16, 2008 2:44 PM | Report abuse

I will walk out of the building around 1:30 tomorrow morning, get to sleep around 2:30. Be back up and at it by 8, when there'll be an Monday Morning H-Back to post.
Actually, the clicker was lost weeks ago, so I didn't look for it today. Getting coffee took all of 10 minutes and I haven't visited with anyone -- in case the suits are watching, you know. ;)

Posted by: CindyBoren | November 16, 2008 2:48 PM | Report abuse

ya, upon review I couldn't find anything out there to reinforce my memory...well, hindsight bein 50/50 and all, I do remember him changing his tune to some degree on PTI, but y'all might be right, it may have fallen short of an apology.

OMG! I can't believe the Bengals! Come on Bengals! I will love you forever! beat those Eagles!

Posted by: rachel216 | November 16, 2008 2:54 PM | Report abuse

Cindy,

How do you do it? I worked that hard one day and it nearly killed me.

You know the suits aren't reading this stuff. Just Vinnie and his staff. Have they ever offered you a bribe to "edit" this stuff a bit more "selectively"? Did you accept? (You don't need to answer. The wink in your previous post says it all.)

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 16, 2008 2:54 PM | Report abuse

Go Ravens/Bengals!

Posted by: rachel216 | November 16, 2008 2:58 PM | Report abuse

I was wondering if McNabb was over the line on that throw.

Seems like on a play that big, it's worth a challenge if it's close.

thunderguy--He didn't look over to me. I even re-ran the play and he still didn't look over.

I love me some 27. God I am so psyched for tonight. I just punched a guy wearing a Dirk Nowitzki jersey.

Unfortunately, the Bengals have not been able to finish off a team this season - remember they almost beat the Giants at the Meadowlands? Hope today they will finish the game.

Tks, they didn't show any replay on TV.

During fubball season, I do six-day weeks, then I sleep from mid-February until the first of March and I'm good to go.
I saw the Bond movie this weekend...and remember how you guys ruined Christian "Teeny Tiny Teeth" Bale for me? Well, you kinda did it to Daniel Craig too. Jeez, thanks so much.
One of the previews was for Snyder's movie "Valkyrie," with Tom Cruise. Altho the production was reportedly fraught with problems (google it), it looks like it'll be very good. Great cast.

Posted by: CindyBoren | November 16, 2008 3:10 PM | Report abuse

Cindy,

Can you check to see if Torrence was active today for NO? It's nearly the end of the third quarter and the dude hasn't had an interception, a completed pass, a punt return for a TD, hasn't kicked an extra point, and hasn't even made a tackle.

Something's wrong. Was he injured? Did he miss his flight? Is he meeting with Obama for Secretary of Defense?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 16, 2008 3:11 PM | Report abuse

McNabb intercepted again. Is Torrence playing for Cincy?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 16, 2008 3:12 PM | Report abuse

YAY! Dumb McNabb got picked off! :) GO BENGALS!

Posted by: rachel216 | November 16, 2008 3:13 PM | Report abuse

"Valkyrie" is getting tons of buzz. Loved "Quantum of Solace", though I still don't get the title. I can't believe what they did to my car in the opening scene.

Posted by: PDiddy | November 16, 2008 3:17 PM | Report abuse

Should have also mentioned that Tom Cruise showed up at my (new) company's annual meeting last week and treated us to a free screening of "Valkyrie". I had meetings so couldn't stay for the show, but the folks who work for me loved it.

When I was living in DC back in the '80's, a radio station (DC101?)that remixed Queen's Another One Bites The Dust into Dallas Bites The Dust.

Does anyone know where I can download a copy of it???

Go Skins...

Dallas Bites The Dust!!!

Posted by: WRBD | November 16, 2008 3:21 PM | Report abuse

I promise...last "Valkyrie" post of the day. The screenplay is by Christopher McQuarrie, who is brilliant, and it's directed by Bryan Singer, who I positively adore. I have no doubt it's going to be an awesome flick.

Here's a thought. Diddy, meet Cindy. Cindy, meet Diddy.

Cindy's single-handedly carrying the Post sports section today. She works like 18 hour days. If she can do that, she can do the work of half your new staff. Cindy can spring you from a few meetings to see a Tom Cruise flick.

Okay, you two work it out off line. You might want to ask her, though, about those bribes from Vinnie.

I believe Leigh Torrencce co-wrote the script...

Posted by: CindyBoren | November 16, 2008 3:35 PM | Report abuse

I wonder if Leigh Torrance can go jogging for me so I can sit on the couch and watch Red Zone Channel.

Posted by: PDiddy | November 16, 2008 3:37 PM | Report abuse

Chad Johnson is three catches for 23 yards today. You've got to wonder whether anyone in Cincinnati is thinking they should have traded him to Washington? Or whether anyone on the 'Skins has ever been grateful that Cincy turned them down?

If the Cheeves win, it's because Torrence was inactive.

why are the bengals running on 3&6? ridiculous

Posted by: rachel216 | November 16, 2008 4:20 PM | Report abuse

What the F? Running on 3rd and 6 in OT? Why not just give the game to them? Must be tough being a Bengals fan.

I'd be booing, too.

3 and 6 in overtime, you're in Feebles territory, and you bring that play?

Kenny Albert, hands down line of the day - "When you look at what a tie would do for Philly- it's not as bad as a loss but it's not as good as a win.." Brilliant.

Might not matter - roughing the passer just put Cincy in FG range!!!

Posted by: Notorious_LMG | November 16, 2008 4:43 PM | Report abuse

Big gift from refs to Bengals. Of course, they need three more big gifts to get in FG range because they can't do it with their offense.
