Heyer to Miss Rams Game
From Jason Reid;
Tackle Stephon Heyer (shoulder) will be inactive against the Rams, Jim Zorn said.
"He's probably the furthest guy away" among Washington's injured players, Zorn said. "I'm going to put him down. He just doesn't have enough strength in that shoulder yet to really explode."
Heyer, who practiced Thursday and today, said his shoulder felt well enough for him to play but "that's his decision. It's up to him. There is no setback.
"I guess he just still wants me to rest a little more. It's a lot better."

2) Serious question - should we tank the rest of the season in hopes of getting a higher % chance of the #1 overall pick and drafting Knowshon Rockwell Moreno? If he doesn't come out this year, we can put it off a year and try next year. If he doesn't come out next year, we'll do it again for his senior year. If we go winless from here on out for the next three years, we'll have the highest % chance of getting him. What do yall think?

Truth...dude...Moreno won't be available next year, so there's no need for the Skins to tank. Even if he does come out, he'll still be recuperating from the lick that will be laid on him by Rolando Mclain in the SEC championship game. And Woodall's gonna hit Green so hard that the A and the J won't even be next to each other anymore. Bet your beloved Dawgs won't wear black for THAT game.
Roll!

Just wondering if Taylor time away with the compartment injury allowed his knee to recover.
As for Heyer, I think Zorn wants to keep Heyer's potential to return as a starter to make sure the fire stays lit under Jansen. As close as this is to game day, it was time to make a clear decision. I'm in the Jansen camp for reasons covered in ZEKE'S UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES earlier this week (there's self promotion on a blog? what a shock!)
Jansen knows if he has a bad day, his starting job could disappear. So he'll play like he's fighting for his job. Which isn't a bad thing if you're CP or Betts and you're running right

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even though he didn't play last Sunday Heyer actually WAS active. Something must have occurred for him to take a step back.

It's possible (likely?) that Zorn knows that Jansen is the better option at this point but is just propping up Heyer to motivate him. Heyer is good, of course, but not better than a motivated (and healthy) Jansen.

I am just glad that no one has said "I'm going to put him down" in regards to me! (Yet anyway). Just a strange choice of words. I assume he meant down on the inactive list.

I think that if the Skins go for another RB anytime soon, they should go for #2 Javon Ringer (Michigan State) rather than #32 Knowshon Moreno (Georgia).
