X-Rays Negative, Heyer Cleared to Return

X-rays of offensive lineman Stephon Heyer's left shoulder were negative. He's walking around on the sideline and I would expect he'll play next time the Redskins have the ball.

"Thomas is fully pushing off on them."

Alex, what are you talking about here?
WHich Thomas? And who is he pushing off on?

Posted by: Anonymous | September 21, 2008 1:59 PM | Report abuse

Miami 13
New England 3

Posted by: Anonymous | September 21, 2008 1:55 PM

I believe this is the first sign of the Apocalypse.

That's because we're not allowed to cheat, I mean videotape anymore. Stupid rules.

Where'd Card fan go?

Posted by: Adult Diaper | September 21, 2008 2:01 PM | Report abuse

No 11, he was pushing off the CB's on passes

Posted by: A | September 21, 2008 2:01 PM | Report abuse

So they're winning 10-0 today, and they came back and looked sharp late against the Saints last week.

I still say they're dropping like a rock.

Posted by: Jimmy Johnson's Hair | September 21, 2008 2:02 PM | Report abuse

I would like to express my gratitude and delight that we don't have stupid Baldinger this week.

Posted by: sfskin | September 21, 2008 2:02 PM | Report abuse

No pass rush. Is Jason Taylor playing today?

Posted by: talent evaluator | September 21, 2008 2:03 PM | Report abuse

Ugghh Big Birds husband is throwin the ball pretty good now

TE: Then @ Eagles in two weeks. Not sure why we got screwed on our NFC East schedule - we play all three away and then our last three home games are against Giants, Dallas, Eagles. Pretty ridiculous.

Posted by: suzannepdc | September 21, 2008 2:03 PM | Report abuse

We're going to be in trouble if we keep giving Warner all day in the pocket.

Suzannepdc,

Are you home, safe, and recovered now?

Posted by: talent evaluator | September 21, 2008 2:05 PM | Report abuse

if Zorn works out then the schedule is okay, because I would rather let him play those home games late once he figured out the team

Posted by: Alex35332 | September 21, 2008 2:05 PM | Report abuse

I'm back, had to go fix the garbage disposal for the old lady and than had to drop the kids off at the pool. Feel much better now.

And the Cards are winning now too right?

Steal one on the road and win the home games = 4-2 in the div.

Posted by: Realness | September 21, 2008 2:07 PM | Report abuse

Prepare to be ahead by only three momentarily...

Posted by: King Card | September 21, 2008 2:07 PM | Report abuse

King Cards, your team might actually be able to do something if they weren't penalized more than cons.

Posted by: King who? | September 21, 2008 2:08 PM | Report abuse

King,

I remember you from last year. I recall you were gracious and in good humor whether you were winning or losing. Maybe a bit overbearing when winning, and I hope we don't see that aspect of your personality today.

Posted by: talent evaluator | September 21, 2008 2:09 PM | Report abuse

TE: Yup. Got back here Monday evening and was lucky enough to have water and electricity when I got back (when only 25% of the city had it). Office has been without power, so I have not been able to work all week. Still waiting to hear if the building will open tomorrow. Just have a little wet carpet, but overall very, very lucky.

That play was fraught with danger, but it worked!

Posted by: Cindy | September 21, 2008 2:09 PM | Report abuse

The King notices that your Portis is averaging roughly 2 yards per carry, while EJ is averaging almost 6.

Posted by: King Card | September 21, 2008 2:11 PM | Report abuse

Thanks for the great reporting Cindy, for those of who can't see the game....

not...

Posted by: Anonymous | September 21, 2008 2:12 PM | Report abuse

suzannepdc,

Glad it turned out so well for you. Plus a week off from work. Of course, that just means you'll be doing two weeks' work in the next week.

Oooh now there's a punt.

Posted by: Anonymous | September 21, 2008 2:20 PM | Report abuse

Nice punt return there huh King Card?

Posted by: | September 21, 2008 2:21 PM | Report abuse

A 66 yard punt is nice TE

Posted by: Alex35332 | September 21, 2008 2:22 PM | Report abuse

The good thing about the end of the Tyler Thigpen era is that I never really had a chance to get too attached to him.

Posted by: Cindy | September 21, 2008 2:22 PM | Report abuse

Not exactly our "A" game on that one, for sure...

Posted by: King Card | September 21, 2008 2:22 PM | Report abuse

Okay now that is some good clock management and use of timeouts. Nice improvement.

Posted by: sfskin | September 21, 2008 2:24 PM | Report abuse

What is the rule change on the coin flip? I've heard about it but not bothered to pay attention.

Posted by: sfskin | September 21, 2008 2:25 PM | Report abuse

King Card - or it will be 10-7 :)

Little concerned about our D against Warner in the second half.

Posted by: suzannepdc | September 21, 2008 2:25 PM | Report abuse

Zorn still seems to be in need of a little time to calculate things, but he is getting better every day.

Posted by: King Card | September 21, 2008 2:22 PM

How do you expect to know an A game when you only played AA teams to date?

Posted by: Alex35332 | September 21, 2008 2:27 PM | Report abuse

If I coached a football team called the Bengals or Tigers , We'd rock the Cincy helmet. (Please insert tiger roaring audio here).

Cincy 13, NYG 10 - halftime.

I'm sure he's hoping the 'Skins score every possession in the second half so he doesn't have to kick again.

Posted by: talent evaluator | September 21, 2008 2:28 PM | Report abuse

Sfskin - I believe the only change is that you can elect to "defer" to get the kickoff at the second half, but I cannot figure out how that is different from chosing the side of the field you want unless I guess the other team then elects to kick?

Did you see the Bears game? On a Kyle Orton interception they were bumping the referee like it was pinball.

Posted by: HAhahaha | September 21, 2008 2:32 PM | Report abuse

Childress made a big mistake saying Frerotte was going to be the starter for the rest of the season.
