Horton Not Expected to Play Sunday

Jason Reid reports:

Rookie safety Chris Horton (shoulder) was held out of practice again and is not expected to play against Cincinnati. If Horton does not play, Mike Green would start in place of Horton, Coach Jim Zorn said.

"It's just one of those things," said Horton, the Redskins' third-leading tackler. "I'm preparing myself even though I'm not getting all the physical reps out there. I'm definitely taking a lot of mental reps."

Moore should play. Need to start giving the rookies more snaps.

Here is how i see our DB's

Green is a great run stuffer. He sniffs it out, makes plays. A lot like Horton.

Hall is the worst tackler at CB, but best pure play maker on the D.

Rodgers is the best cover corner, doesnt get beat very often but cant hang on to the ball.

Landry is a beast near the line and has a lot of range in the deep backfield. sadly he cannot leave that area because no one has his range and power.

Springs is the cagy vet who can handle bigger WR's and can play the run well. takes on blockers better than any DB.

hort is a play maker who is lost in coverage and raw. gets into the back field because of his run recognition.

Smoot is the best trash talker? Plays way too far off the line, much better in zone coverage. 2nd best tackler out of the CB's

So it would make sense to have Green in on the obvious running downs and put springs in as Cobra DB on passing. he can check the WR at the line then drop into the middle with speed. LL covering deep, Rodgers and Hall locked in on X and Z. Smoot playing off if 4 WR.

Springs can't play safety because he will claim to be "active" on sunday?

zEKE;

What say you?

Ovie
Crosby
Malken
Semin

Which do you think is better?

Thorton (gotta stick with my team). Best part of being a Sharks fan? You get to hate dallas for an entirely new reason

He's not that old ... 29 (had to look it up). Sharks are pretty young for a team this good. Roenick and Blake are the only guys over 33.

My last post before the weekend, but I just hope Sheriff Gunna Getcha runs the ball right down the Bunghole's Bunghole.

Springs should retire, Hall and someone ELSE from FA on the islands next yr...bye bye Smoot (cant cover deep) and Rogers (can't cover OR catch)

Posted by: fullonfully | December 12, 2008 2:33 PM | Report abuse

fullon, you are absolutely wrong about rodgers covering. and catching for that matter.
he def can cover. and he doesnt even know what catching is, much less not know how to...

... favorite moment at the Shark Tank.

Playoff game a couple years ago. Jonathan Cheechoo scores a goal and the crowd is going nuts -- then they run the replay. We all see at the same time how he scored it. A shot from between the legs. The whole crowd stops cheering for about a 3 seconds and and you hear this 'ooooooo' because it was that amazing. Will look for a video clip, just great stuff

Dear Fullonfully, please stop pretending to be a fan of a team you know nothing about.

Carlos Rogers would start on any other team in the NFL right now.

That is all.

Posted by: Pleepleus | December 12, 2008 2:38 PM | Report abuse

Sure he'd start for another team if they had no one else...what team are you watching??

Posted by: fullonfully | December 12, 2008 2:47 PM | Report abuse

if he were any good, he wouldn't get beat every week. I loved his "coverage skills" vs Derrick Mason...Gift wrapped pick from Big Ben went right through his hands, would have changed the game. So, Pleepleus,
I bet you thought Tom Carter was a good CB too. More than likely, I;ve been a skins fan TWICE as long as you. but when you watch the game wear some glasses.

Springs needs to go shopping for lingerie with the other girls.

Posted by: jmueller7 | December 12, 2008 5:53 PM | Report abuse

ahh how we all falter no?

Posted by: CrappyWaiter | December 13, 2008 5:57 AM | Report abuse

So Fullonfully, what you're saying is if a corner gets beat...ONCE...in a season he should be cut?

You represent everything wrong with the Redskins fanbase. Do you know how hard it is for a corner to cover a wideout (on an Island no less) with no pass rush to help him? Do you know anything about actually playing football?

Carlos Rogers is a better pure coverage corner than DeAngelo Hall has ever been. Hall is definately the gamebreaker of the two, but Rogers is the better cover corner.

Go lower the IQ of some other teams fanbase.
