Week 17 Inactives

The Redskins are scratching DE Rob Jackson, LB Tyson Smith, OL D'Anthony Batiste, DT Ryan Boschetti, G Will Montgomery, T Devin Clark and WR Malcolm Kelly. (In hindsight they easily could have put this kid on IR at midseason.) Colt Brennan is the third QB.

As for the 49ers' inactives, well, here goes:

CB Marcus Hudson, CB Reggie Smith, RB Thomas Clayton, LB Ahmad Brooks, C Cody Wallace, T/G Adam Snyder, TE Sean Ryan. Jamie Martin is the third QB.

JLC really has the best hindsight around?

Posted by: bhayesp | December 28, 2008 3:44 PM | Report abuse

28-24 Raiders...lol

Bucs are choking for the second straight week.

Posted by: MrRedskin21 | December 28, 2008 3:46 PM | Report abuse

Very annoying that Malcolm can't even get into this last game!!!

Posted by: Maestro301 | December 28, 2008 3:53 PM | Report abuse

1st of all, Hindsight is 50/50.

And hindsight dosen't have any place here......

Brees closing in on Marino's record.

He's definitely gifted. How does he do so well in the hindsight department. Wasn't the the first one to point out, with hindsight, that the Jason Taylor trade didn't work out very well. That is, after he'd pointed out with foresight that it was a good trade.

Kind of bittersweet that either PHL or DAL will get the last wild card. Had it not been for Pete Kendall's mistake history might be different. I will hate having to come into work tomorrow, given that I will have nothing to gloat about.

Posted by: jiacinto | December 28, 2008 4:14 PM | Report abuse

This game is quite a tragedy, given that both franchises were once well-respected and competitive. If it were only 20 years ago this game would probably mean something. It is amazing to see how far SF has fallen since I was a kid. I remember when they were dominating Super Bowls.

Posted by: jiacinto | December 28, 2008 4:15 PM | Report abuse

Wow, the Skins actually will be on defense first. Good start.

Posted by: ga8085 | December 28, 2008 4:17 PM | Report abuse

does anyone know where I can watch this game online? i'm out of town and can't get the game on tv here

What a man! Hates to go to work when he doesn't have anything to gloat about. You must really be popular with your coworkers.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:18 PM | Report abuse

Maybe not..

Posted by: ga8085 | December 28, 2008 4:19 PM | Report abuse

No it just that everyone gets to brag about their team winning and I don't have that luxury.

Posted by: jiacinto | December 28, 2008 4:20 PM | Report abuse

Wow the D didn't come to play.

Well, I think the offense was taking the same meds that the D was taking.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:31 PM | Report abuse

Awwwwwwwwww! It wouldnt be skins sunday without a 3 and out..... Everything is right with the world....

Posted by: cocodc1 | December 28, 2008 4:31 PM | Report abuse

Most people are hoping this is a blowout so they can turn on the philly and cowgirls game...lol

Posted by: cocodc1 | December 28, 2008 4:33 PM | Report abuse

This sucks!!!!

JM220

Posted by: icetotalpackage | December 28, 2008 4:34 PM | Report abuse

Well it looks like it is headed to blowout land. SF is running through the WAS defense with reckless abandon.

The way the 'Skins have started, it will be a blowout.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:35 PM | Report abuse

Let the a** whoopin commence. They're facing the 1994 49ers all of a sudden.

JM220

Posted by: icetotalpackage | December 28, 2008 4:34 PM

Well, it will move us up about three places in the draft. That has to be worth something.

I really hate the Whopper Virgins ads. I wish they'd show those people a football game and a baseball game and ask them which is better.

Okay. Bad FG! Am I the only one who just felt the Big Mo shifting to our side? Whoo!

The gameday inactive list didn't get sent out via text like it normally does. Guess when you're out of the playoffs, the Post doesn't feel it as pertinent to keep readers updated on a meaningless game.

Another beef I have with those texts is that the info they send out is so lame sometimes. I bet the vast majority of those on the Post text list don't want to receive the halftime score and final score updated on their text. The reason being the vast majority of fans are WATCHING the game.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Posted by: Barno1 | December 28, 2008 4:41 PM | Report abuse

More good signs! We have Thrash involved early!

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:42 PM | Report abuse

so what's the deal peoples? My local sports bar is closed for some reason so I'm stuck watching DAL\PHI.

Talk about a last kick in the nads for this awful, painful season. Winner of this game goes to the playoffs? Ugh.

Is it still 7-0 49ers?

Posted by: TheTruth11 | December 28, 2008 4:44 PM | Report abuse

Jansen makes his presence felt!

Barno,

You're mad when they don't send it. You're mad when they do send it. It's week 17. Why don't you do yourself a favor and take your name off the list?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:45 PM | Report abuse

actually Barno, out-of-towners like myself don't get to see every game.

I like the texts myself

Posted by: TheTruth11 | December 28, 2008 4:45 PM | Report abuse

oh and a quick question, WHO AM I SUPPOSED TO CHEER FOR!?!

Pop star Tony Romo and Jerrah Jones' Cowgirls so ESPN can gobble them up? The one good thing is that it'll be funny to see 'em fall on their face again and leave the playoffs without a win

OR

Mr. "We're better than the Redskins, who beat us both times we played this year" Donovan McNabb?

Posted by: TheTruth11 | December 28, 2008 4:47 PM | Report abuse

Nice run by CP.

Skins on the verge of tying the game. End of 1st Q
SF 7, Was 0

Posted by: mohammed10 | December 28, 2008 4:47 PM | Report abuse

Truth--

Why don't you click on NFL.com? They have a play-by-play description.

Lot of folks hoping they break away early for the Dallas game.

And, yeah, still 7-0, but the 'Skins are threatening to make it 7-7. Or, more likely, 7-3.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:47 PM | Report abuse

ok boycott over, listening online...

Posted by: ga8085 | December 28, 2008 4:51 PM | Report abuse

Did I tell you? The missed FG broke SF's back. All 'Skins, all the way, all the day.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | December 28, 2008 4:51 PM | Report abuse

My distain for the Cowboys runs very, very deep, so I am pulling for the Eagles - especially since Jerry Jones guaranteed that Dallas would make the playoffs. I am just still mad that both Tampa Bay and Chicago managed to lose to the Raiders and the Texans!

Love that thye just showed a while bunch of Redskins fans at the game.

McNabb is delusional, that's the only explanation I can think of after he said what he did 'bout the skins. His philosophy, if you can't beat em, deny reality.

CARLOS!

If the extent to your following the team on Sundays is only through halftime and final score updates, guess you're not much of a fan.

The Redskins fans I know that don't live in the D.C. area find bars that have the NFL ticket, or listen to the games on XM radio.

Next year I hope they give real "Insider" info on the games, instead of simply halftime and final scores to people who already know the scores.
