Jason Campbell Info
Jason did not meet the media today, which was a little odd, but no cause for alarm. He rode his car around to the back of Redskins Park and left that way as well, which meant he didn't have to interact with us schlubs.
I take that as a sign of him just laying low. He didn't play in the final 5 games and I think he's kind of letting Todd Collins have his time. But again, it's unlike Jason.
I spoke to some people close to him tonight who were adamant that everything is totally cool. They said everyone from Daniel Snyder to Joe Gibbs have assured him throughout his injury - and Collins's magical ride - that Jason remained the starter and would get his job back as soon as he was healthy.
Spent a good bit of time chatting with Jason alone on Thursday - chilling in his new ride - and he was very at ease with everything and spoke at length about the positive feedback he had received from the staff and how certain he was that this remained his football team.
I expect he'll work even harder this offseason than he did last and at some point he'll put that passing camp together with Moss, Randle El and the other receivers. Maybe they'll all be able to make it out to Donovan McNabb's training facility in Arizona this winter once everyone is healthy.
And, follow up on an earlier post, Campbell's guy, WR Anthony Mix, signed a three-year deal when the Redskins plucked him from New York's practice squad, so he's signed through the 2009 season and not a free agent.
