Campbell: 'It's just totally different than it used to be'

Almost a week into team workouts at Redskins Park, players Friday continued to marvel at the changes in the organization under Coach Mike Shanahan.

"It's just totally different than it used to be," quarterback Jason Campbell said. "Yeah, they've changed a lot of stuff around in the weight room, painted and moved some other stuff, but that's not what I'm talking about. It's really the feeling you get now just being [in the building].

"You just see how professional it is and guys are doing things the right way. Usually in the past, guys wouldn't be focused like this right now. A lot of guys who showed up [for the voluntary offseason conditioning program] wouldn't be here in the past. And even in the weight room, a lot of guys just used to do their own thing. But it's all structured now. There's a plan for everything we're doing."

Campbell is pleased to have started working with Shanahan and his son, Kyle, the Redskins' offensive coordinator and play-caller. Campbell produced personal-best statistics in his third full season as a starter "but we went 4-12 and that's really all that matters," he said. "When you have the type of year we had last year, and with all the other stuff going on, it gives you confidence in what the organization is doing when Mike Shanahan comes in and everything is just professional."

A restricted free agent under the terms of an uncapped season, Campbell received a first-round tender of $3.14 million, enabling the Redskins to retain his rights. The Redskins on Wednesday signed free agent quarterback Rex Grossman, who was a backup last season with the Houston Texans. Grossman is familiar with the scheme the Redskins will run this season, having served under Kyle Shanahan, then the Texans' coordinator, last season.

There has been widespread speculation that the Redskins, who hold the fourth overall pick in the three-day April draft, want to draft Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford, and that Mike Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen might trade Campbell.

"I don't listen to all the stuff out there," Campbell said. "None of that is in my control. All I know for sure is Coach Shanahan believes in competition.

"I like what Coach Shanahan has brought to the organization. It's like nothing I've seen, and I'm happy to be part of it. I'm just going to keep working hard everyday to put myself in position to take advantage of whatever opportunities I get. That's all I can do, but I feel good about what's going on. I'm excited about the season."

Wasn't there a movie in which Cary Grant or some other handsome devil put on a wedding ring in a deliberate attempt to make himself more attractive to some young lady?

Just saying that the wedding band can have an aphrodisiac effect... it's well documented... book it.

I mean, you cited David Letterman and his sh*t. How old is Letterman, 60 something? So you know his wife is around his age. What diminishes with age? Physical features, sex drive and a bunch of other things.

Letterman was creepin' with ladies that were much younger than him. So there you go.

Letterman was seeking young coochie because his wife is up in age now. It's safe to assume she doesn't look quite the same as she did when they first met.

Posted by: RedDMV

Hey, Dr. Ruth is in DUH HOUSE!!! Who'd a thunk it was RedDmv?

FYI: Letterman is 63, his wife about 20 years younger. She just had a kid six years ago.

Letterman has been a hound most of his life. Age has nothing to do with it. When asked what broke up his first marriage, he answered "cocktail waitresses." He was an unlaid nerd in high school. When he got funny and famous, he started making up for lost time.

The lady he was, er, "creepin' with" was a PA named Stephanie, who was frequentky on his show. Her finest attribute was accessibility to him--kind the same quality Monica L. had to Clinton.. He didn't have to patrol the bars seeking strange, it was there at his workplace.

For married celebs attempting to stay out of the tabs, quality is sacrificed often for convenience.

You could ask Hugh Grant. My God, he was nailing a supermodel/actress, but settled for a Sunset Strip skank because he couldn't very well go down to the bar at the Four Seasons and look for his strange.

Oh yeah, skins should trade down from #4 for extry picks.

leevi, you make it sound like you think Soup's being dishonest, that the "good guy thing" is an act. I choose to think he's a legitimately good guy.

I choose to wish he were a consistently good QB, too, because I really like the guy. And I choose to believe he has what it takes to be a consistently good QB and be a winner in this league. But I'm done defending him up here, which I used to do... reduced now to hoping the best for the guy, especially (of course) if he remains a Redskin.

LOL typical post on this blog when you post anything about JC that does not back him up as our teams savior.

1st...where in my post did you get I was a Jay Cutler fan????? As far as I can see...You brought up Cutler..then compared him to Jeff George and somehow you finished it off as if that's what I said or meant.

interesting ... i never even hinted anything the way you answered...i think the original posts clearly speaks for itself. I complimented JC on how he handles situations then I made my own opinion on a blog stating we have heard this before....so let's play ball...time is running out.

So yeah....I stand by the FACT. JC was drafted in 2005...he is entering his 6th season...his career is half over..he has had more chances to prove himself than any QB i can remember. He has definitely had a fair shake....and he is being given another chance just in case too many offenses were the problem as many use as a defense.

I'm all for JC having another chance under the Shanny. I like that for the first time since being with the Skins...he has to compete with others to EARN the spot it's not given to him by default...Then we know for sure ..he either is the guy or not...If he is..he gets a long term deal and if not no risk...FA...but the end result goes back to what I said above in my original post....He needs to produce.

POWER PLAY

Sam Bradford / Tim Tebow

*** This is a smoke screen ***

Shanny is playing real cool, just like he did with Cutler.
Remember, he didn't even work him out or interview him

Sexy Rexy is here to possibly start, because he knows the
system, until Clausen is ready.

They may sign JC17, but they will unload him...

too much drama and a distraction, so he must go

----------------------------

** Predictions **

JC17 gets traded to the bills for their 3rd round pick

Davis gets traded for the Patriots 2 second round picks

they have 3 #44 #47 #53- their own
They also have no pass catching TE and they desperately
want one for Brady

We now have 5 picks in the top 3

We could trade the 2 second rounders and move back
into the middle of the first round to get our left tackle

or use those 4 picks to draft 3 O-line & 1 running back

Being a nice guy is great and is one thing everyone would like to have in a QB, leader and teammate but if you do not produce...there is a huge problem...considering that is why your here and getting the paid...the rest at that point...is just poof.

All fair points, esp. this one and esp. after that GEICO commercial featuring him and his agent. No more commmercials please. But as a media figure, when he gets a call from the WaPo beat guy, he has to say something other than "Can you believe the stuff that comes out of Rogers' mouth?" The stuff those two former Auburn teammates choose to say to the media could not be more different.

I remember going to a Marc barne party back in the day and he made what seemed like the entire bullets team wait in line like the rest on a cold @ss night. it was comical. but i did not hate on the Bullets because marc barnes made them stand in line or because the honey's weren't jocking them. I was at The Park Lounge last night on 14th and K for happy hour and while I was dancing and having fun I look up to my right and guess who I see... Jason Campbell at one of the tables dancing right along side of me. But this was odd because here I am at a lounge and I am getting more attention than this starting NFL Quarterback! That right there should tell you this guys value... He's not even good enough player to be noticed at a simple lounge! So please get rid of Campbell.. The starting QB for our team should ignite the city.. Not just be a backup dancer at some random night club! We are the Washington Redskins for Christ's sakes!!!

This is horribly irrelevant. Who cares if he was at a lounge last night and nobody noticed him? If I was him I'd chalk that up to a decent night. Maybe he just wanted to go out and chill w/out havin 'tardos like you dancing like a turd next to him.

You know most "rap" singles released nowadays are just 3 second rips from electro/house tracks right?

For instance, "On to the next one" is a sample from the track D.A.N.C.E. by the french electro duo Justice. The words are actually "Under the starlight..." and Jay-Z and Swizz for some weird reason turned those words into "on to the next one". Check it here:

The mail I get at work:

Dear Moe,

I'm a new teacher at a private tutoring firm. I've twice had the experience of sitting at a table with a male student and seeing the student "adjust" himself. Both times, the student actually put his hand down his pants. The first time, I was so shocked I couldn't hide the expression on my face, and the 17-year-old asked what was wrong. I tried not to say anything, but then he started typing on my computer, so I had to say, "It's not appropriate to put your hands down your pants in public." He protested, "Well, it itches!" I replied that scratching there in public, especially going inside the pants, was still inappropriate. When he left, I broke out the Lysol and germ wipes. Did I handle this in an acceptable manner? What should I do if it happens again? And shouldn't teenage boys already know not to do this?

Thanks,
Ms. Nuts

Wow, Ms. Nuts.

(Can I call you 'Nutty"?)

I'm glad to meet you.

(INSERT image of Moe reaching into the front of his pants to 'adjust' himself.)

Let's shake hands and discuss your complaint.

I'm shocked that young men today don't get that their 'sacks' and public 'adjustment' don't go together.

If I had a son, I'd tell him all he should show a woman is an erection pointed in her direction.

'Cuz that's one 'adjustment' she'll never complain about.

Lets see. Campbell had an average QB rating -- despite playing behind the worst OL in football -- despite having his only good RB show up out of shape -- despite having to play much of the year with 3rd and 4th string RBs -- despite having a so-so set of WRs -- despite having an inept coach in Zorn -- despite having a bizarre play calling system -- despite the team basically quitting.

And yes, our FG kicker only missed 3 kicks -- costing the team 2 wins.

Jason Campbell can win in this league if the parts around him are decent. What was around Campbell in 2009 was obscene.

For whom?
CAMPBELL HEARS BELLS TOLLING

Part 1 –

ASHBURN, VA -- While some Redskin Outsiders wonder whether this may be Jason Campbell’s final season with the Redskins, others hope and pray that he has already played his last game here.

Coming off a highly disappointing 4-12 season, many wonder why this worthless excuse for a pro quarterback still has a locker at Redskin Park.

Could it be that no other team will have him -- even on a dare, or a lark?

Last off-season, the Redskins couldn't generate any interest in trading for Campbell among the other 31 NFL teams -- even at the bargain basement offer price of a 3rd or 4th round draft pick -- or even just a moldy old ham sandwich.

Thus, during a sadly discouraging 2009 season campaign that followed, Campbell did little, if anything, to make himself any more attractive to any other team.

Rather than improve on his limited skill set, many believe he regressed into an even worse quarterback than before -- while "leading" a hapless offensive unit that couldn't score so much as a single touchdown against some of the worst teams in the league.

When reached for comment Campbell said, "I don't listen to all the stuff out there. None of that is in my control."

So until somebody tells him otherwise, Campbell said he will "just keep showing up every payday, and working hard to come up with some fresh excuses every week for failing to get it done. That's all I can do."

CAMPBELL HEARS BELLS TOLLING

Part 2 –

Yet, some observers wonder whether new Redskins Coach Mike Shannahan is going to have as much patience as his predecessors in dealing with Campbell.

Some may recall that former Redskins coaching legend Joe Gibbs was lured out of retirement for a second series of coaching the team -- and as one of his first official acts of his second tenure, he put his reputation on the line in suggesting that the Redskins draft Campbell in the first round of his first draft.

The team traded away several draft picks to move up and take Campbell, and the Redskins have never been the same again.

Following a couple of so-so seasons, Gibbs was able to make the playoffs in his final season with the Redskins, but only after Campbell went down with an injury and journeyman quarterback Todd Collins rallied to team to victories in their final four games.

However, with a healthy Campbell coming back to take the snaps for the following season, some Redskin Outsiders believe the quarterback ultimately chased the coach back into premature retirement, especially when Gibbs realized that Campbell's continued poor play, inability to improve, and dim witted grasp and execution of even the most over-simplified offensive system could only lead to lots more losses -- which could only tarnish the legendary coach's otherwise sterling reputation.

put payton manning on this team last year we are probably 8-8, put a rookie QB or a Tarvis Jackson caliber QB on this team we are probably 0-16. Jason is average, he got us to 4 wins... sounds about right.

For whom?
CAMPBELL HEARS BELLS TOLLING

Part 3 –

So next came Jim Zorn, a former pro quarterback of modest success, who was first hired as a quarterback coach and asked to coach up Campbell and help him find some way (indeed, any way) to complete at the pro level.

Given his decidedly novel approaches to the challenge, team insiders were soon convinced that if Zorn was willing to try and work this sort of miracle, perhaps he could do just as well for the whole team. Subsequently, was handed the jobs of quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator and head coach -- and contracted to the tune of $2+ million per season to pull off the miracles.

Unfortunately, Zorn's coaching stint failed badly, when the so called "offensive genius" floundered and fluttered like a Campbell screen pass into the third deck of FEDEX Field. The last we heard of Zorn, he was back to coaching QB prospects for the lowly Baltimore Ravens, and choosing his words very carefully when asked to discuss his former protégé.

In new coach Mike Shanahan, the Redskins believe they now have a coach who can again return the team to greatness.

But before that happens, everyone now knows the team needs to, as one outsider explained it, “figure out what to do with Campbell.”

Shanahan, to his credit, is already speaking in carefully guarded words about his worthless excuse for a quarterback, while the team goes about the business of interviewing journeymen quarterbacks and college prospects.

For his part, Campbell continues to unapologetically waste a roster space and take a locker away from someone who could actually help the team -- at least for today at Redskin Park.

Vic, your post reads like an angry, bitter, little child whose mother took away his candybar before he was finished eating it...

Get over it. Complaining and moaning about the trade that brought campbell over is way past due... your argument about zorn is incorrect. He was never hired as our Qb's coach... from the beginning he was our offensive coordinator. He was also never considered to be an "offensive genious" but was considered a QB creator as everyone attributed Matt Hasselbacks development to him (even tho its more likely Holmgren had a lot to do with it... See Brett Farve as well...) Also, anyone who calls the Ravens "lowly" clearly does not follow football....

You also fail to mention in that assessment of Campbell that during the playoff run the REST OF THE TEAM played out of its mind... extremely contrary to how it had been playing before Jason had been hurt.. whether that is a coincidence or not, it must be stated that the team became a completely different team after JC's injury... Collins likely had little to do with it, but who knows...

Moving on, you let your hatred for JC take over you too much. That post has no substantive information... just essentially boils down to, you hate campbell, think he sucks, you hate zorn think he sucks, you think Shanny may be able to save the franchise... but campbell is standing in his way, because campbell sucks.... thank you for you opinion. We get it.

fwiw, the thing that may keep Campbell in DC is the very modest salary he has for a starting QB.

If Shanahan goes after Bradford, it'll be $50million for 6 years and then hope the kid is worth it. On decisions like this, Danny's checkbook must be consulted.

I've been saying it for a while, its very possible that Danny's checkbook isn't as flush as it used to be.

I would not draft a QB in the 1st round until after the collective bargaining aggreement is redone. It makes no sense whoever you grab at #4 will earn absurd amount of money and will never live up to the expectation in this big market. You would be better to draft at Tackle or on defense and keep JC or Grossman and take a QB in a lower round.

Maybe that business about offer sheets ten days before the draft is about THIS year's draft. I dunno.

Found this stuff about Atogwe too:

"Rams FS O.J. Atogwe will reach unrestricted free agency on June 1 if the team does not sign him to a long-term deal, guarantee a 2010 contract of $7 million, or trade his rights.
The predicament has to do with Atogwe's right of first refusal tender. Currently a restricted free agent, Atogwe can be signed to an offer sheet until April 15. If he fails to draw an offer, Atogwe can force the Rams' hand on the $7 million guaranteed, knowing that the team will lose his rights by June."

The guy has been seeking a long term deal for three consecutive years. First getting RFA tendered then franchise tagged twice.

PABRIAN.... I've clearly missed the window for this but I just saw your post about the ANTI-Campbell bashing. It is a nice effort and one that, we, as a fan base should adopt... but people just seem to hate the man. Right or wrong the QB and head coach are blamed for everything... good or bad. Things go well, they get a larger share of the praise than they probably deserve. Converesly, things go poorly and they get a larger share of the blame than they probably deserve. Campbells record as a starter is not good (i am not sure exactly what it is but I know its not good), and while his numbers are mediocre... numbers can lie. Campbell missed a number of makable throws last year and the year before and the terrible line certainly plays a part in that, and the terrible management of his talent has as well... but at some point he has to step up and make the throws and he hasn't proved to be able to do that...

I agree we need to stop bashing him, but at the same time I understand why fans do and why they will continue to do so until he has been replaced.

I love JC17's heart, his toughness, his commitment, his work ethic, but it doesn't mean jack if he doesn't know how to win. Give me an a-hole for a QB who can win. I have complained for a long time that the Redskins don't have mental toughness or a winning attitude. Let's hope Shanny can bring some of that...though I don't think he's the cup of tea people think he is.

Was just online at the redskins store....curious what i saw....

these jersey's of players listed were on sale....Betts, Smoot, Randle El, Sellers, Jason Taylor and Griffin

No surprises there...On sale big time cause they were cut and no longer on the team..

but whats it mean when Portis, Kelly, Thomas, Hall, Colt Brennon, Horton and Rogers are also on sale for a huge price cut..the same cut as the other players who are already gone?

Moss, Campbell, Fletch and Cooley jerseys are also cut down..but not the adult jersey's just the youth...the others above ALL jerseys were marked down including the adult.

Very interesting...either these guys are bout to be gone or they are about to change the uniforms or they are just choosing to mark down certain players in adult sizes.....Very curious

We don't know what Shanahan's thinking about JC, and we don't know what other teams might have offered for him behind the scenes. Seattle may have offered a second and Shanahan said "No, I'd rather keep him for another year and see what I can do with him." All will be revealed in time -- not like Gibbs/Cerrato/Snyder who telegraphed too often what they were planning.

It means that when they ordered the jerseys they thought they would sell a lot more of them. I hate to jump into yet another Campbell debate, but why are people so sure Shanahan wants to trade him? Maybe there's interest, but the Skins' asking price is too high. It's not like Cleveland or San Diego got anything all that spectacular for Quinn or Whitehurst (and a lot of people seem to think the Hawks got robbed, anyway).

Posted by: JohnDinHouston

I developed the concept of retasking out of date aircraft carriers to be fitted with capabilities for disaster relief. Instead of high tech stuff, its tents, blankets, medical, baby food, etc -- coupled with the usual immediate needs associated with disasters. Road clearing, water, basic food stuffs, shelters, etc

The aircraft would be helicopters, of course.

One ship could provide rations and medical support for a million people for a week.

It would be staffed heavily by volunteers and paid for by countries from around the world.

Naturally, many RI Hamsters, wishing they could have such brilliant ideas themselves, became jealous. The jealously only intensified when they realized one of the ships would be named after me.

Of course, the 5 million Haitians and Chileans impacted by recent earthquakes seemed to think this was a good idea. Katrina survivors weren't polled.

they have 3 #44 #47 #53- their own
They also have no pass catching TE and they desperately
want one for Brady

We now have 5 picks in the top 3

We could trade the 2 second rounders and move back
into the middle of the first round to get our left tackle

or use those 4 picks to draft 3 O-line & 1 running back

I have read all the post, as for being a redskin fan since the age of 5 ....I'm 35 now. I could have never thought that skins' fans could be much in an up roar about a Qb. Eli , Mcnabb , peyton , Brees,Big Ben etc. Have had the same OC and Offense their Entire Careers. Second , They have Lines Also that block , Big Ben also ...He holds the ball because he chooses to. He takes alot of sacks but gets big plays too because his line is so good ( most likely the best).

I have listened to the so called experts and they say the skins' should draft a Qb , but first they need to get the new Qb some protection!!! ??????? How about keep the old QB and get him some protection!!! As for Campbell's Dump off's he has no choice but to, because of protection issues. Pay Attention , there were more 3 step drops and get rid of it than anything else last year. He still Managed 20 td's which is not bad. I say give the guy some protection and lets see what he can do. There were 9 games last year were his Qb Rating was better than 85 look it up. There is talent there just give him what he needs as the Other elites have. That is no ones fault but the Front Office. If he Does not do well with Protection , then get rid of him.Until then I think the Points of him being bad are Moot!!! Also lets use common sense, If I were any other team , why offer him (Campbell) a Contract and give up A 1st rounder when I can wait a year and Give up nothing. That just smart management. Also its win win for the skins. We keep a good qb for a song and a dance if we loose him, we get a first rounder. Again, Very smart Move. All the teams that have signed QB's gave up nothing including us (Grossman). The Quinn was trade involved a 2nd or 3 rd string Rb for a trade off and it cost the Browns 700k. Smart. No loss!!! Again People Common sense!!

More likely they didn't figure Bradford or Clausen wuld get down to them. As far as 1st pick that's only if they sign Campbell as a restricted agent. The Seahawks could trade with the Redskins for the rights to him for a lot less. Bottomline when Cutler was available last year 4 or 5 teams jumped at the chance to get him. Campbell is a free agent (BTW IF Shanahan wants him so much why isn't he signed already?) yet I'm not hearing any team making even an offer.

You make it sound like if the Skins don't draft an LT at #4 they can't improve the OL.. Nonsense. First off Okung might not even be there at 4. Second the Skins have other draft picks and can sign FA's, there is no reason they can't draft a franchise QB AND improve the line. As far as Campbell sorry but he sucks... Many of his sacks was because he can't read defenses or read a blitz.. Campbell gets the blame for many of them. And his high QB rating has much more to do with the fact that 80% of his passes were 10 yards or less than to how good a QB he is. Bottomline Campbell is 6-18 his last 24 starts. 0-6 vs the NFC east. that's terrible and it can't all be blamed on the OL. Teams build around a franchise QB. The Cowboys did it with Aikman, the Eagles with McNabb and the Giants with Manning. If Shanahan thinks Clausen can be a franchise QB he has to get him.. Eagle fans booed McNabb went he was drafted but Reid made the right move.. OL maybe is a bigger need but QB is the more important position.. Shanahan needs to take care of it first..

Posted by: sovine08 | March 19, 2010 6:39 PM | Report abuse

Most threads criticize Campbell for dumping off but, how effective was Brady, Favre, and other elite QBs under intense pressure and lack of protection? Can Bradford take the punishment and abuse Campbell takes in the NFC east? How about other intangibles accorded Campbell, like willingness to scrambling for a first down? Why are some only see the negatives and nothing else?

Besides 4-12, JC's QB rating would be near the same as 2008 if that last pass of the season had been intercepted, the Hail Mary that mysteriously went out of bounds on the fly at the 40 yard line (JC must of known 80 percent of Hail Marys are intercepted).
JC's 4th QTr rating stats dropped tremendously.. And he went from 6 INTs in 08 to 15 in 09.

If JC gets traded.. JReid might just quit the Washington Post and follow him to Buffalo.

Joey Porter picks the Cardinals

Well, here's something for Darnell Dockett to smile about.

Free agent linebacker Joey Porter has agreed to a three-year contract with the Cardinals, according Darren Urban of the team's official website.

Porter wrapped up a visit with the Redskins Friday, but was hoping to land closer to the West Coast. More to come on this story shortly.

3 Yr deal, not sure of the dough. Maybe we chose to resign Levi instead.

JC....does this mean that you will get rid of the ball quicker?

Most threads criticize Campbell for dumping off but, how effective was Brady, Favre, and other elite QBs under intense pressure and lack of protection? Can Bradford take the punishment and abuse Campbell takes in the NFC east? How about other intangibles accorded Campbell, like willingness to scrambling for a first down? Why are some only see the negatives and nothing else?

I completely agree! I say give campbell a year to prove his worth! Hes a total warrior to keep competing when the line gave out 2 yrs in a row! He desrves a chance for that alone. Besides Shanny likes a big dude with a big arm anyhow. Please, Coach, draft two O-line with the first two picks!!!!!!!

JC backers/apologists will give him infinite chances it seems. He is so average, yes, build a great, not good, o-line, and have two stud RB's, like he had in college and he'll still be average, but he'll win more.
Wow. I want a difference maker at QB!

minor point, but it doesn't seem like the guys that came thru DC are getting better deals because they stopped here.

Porter, Foote, Clifton, etc. I doubt any of them got an extra $ because of their visits here.

That's a change I like

Yeah, you and the fans of the other 31 teams.

Doesn't mean you get rid of a decent starting QB just because he's not a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Oh, and when you locate the tree where both money and franchise QBs are grown, be sure to send me the coordinates.

Isn't Shanahan supposed to be a good QB developer? Are you going against a coashing Icon for your personal wish?

Looked up some interesting stats that will give us a look at what we can expect from Shanny coaching JC. Shanny won games, went to playoffs with jake Plummer. Remember him. Well here are Jake plaummers stats before and after Shanny. before he got to Denver, he was in on of the most disfuntional franchises in history with cards. Remind anyone of anything when you think disfunction- see picture of Vinny and Synder in dictionary circa 2009. Jake averaged in six years with cards: 15 TD's, 19 int's and QB rating of 68.3..... his stats with Shanny; 4 years - averaged 18 Td's, 11.7 INT's and QB rating of 83.7. I hope and expect to see the same type of natural improvement from JC just by being with a real coach in a real offense. JC's arerage the last three years when he was the starter- 15 TD's, 10 Int's and QB rating of 82.7.....any improvement at all from a better coach and hopefully a better team that can sun...comparision is this...he took negative stats that plummer came to him with and made them all positive( and he got to playoffs) JC's stats are already positive so you would assume a natural progression to have them much better too. I don't think i would take any other coach to get this guy on track to reach that potential. Plummkers last year without shaNNY- 18 TD's, 20 INt's, QB rating - 65.7....His first year uner shanny...15 Td's 7 INT's, QB rating 92.3...In my opinion, jason is a better QB at the point he got shanny then Plummer was. so again, if the stats don't lie, JC might be in for a big boost. sometimes with Qb's, they have the talent and just need the light to go on.it takes longer for some then others but the ability is defenetly there....Hang in there JC, you will be alot better just thru osmosis... all the haters will be eating their words if you are the person and student and athelete you have always been. you just need a real coach and system!!!

Jason Reid why not try reporting factual information? where is this speculation coming from and just might this speculation be out there so the Skins can ensure that they draft Okung
Bradford is over rated an injury prone

There has been widespread speculation that the Redskins, who hold the fourth overall pick in the three-day April draft, want to draft Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford, and that Mike Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen might trade Campbell

Posted by: BeatDontStop | March 20, 2010 12:04 AM | Report abuse

I had a chance to meet Mike Shanahan yesterday. We talked for a few mins and I won't pretend to know what's going on at Redskins Park, but I can tell you that the dude is a very nice guy but at the same time you get the sense he is absolutely no nonsense.

I have no doubt he is gonna turn our beloved Skins into a bunch of bad a$$ ballers.

You make it sound like if the Skins don't draft an LT at #4 they can't improve the OL.. Nonsense. First off Okung might not even be there at 4. Second the Skins

Posted by: sovine08 | March 19, 2010 6:39 PM

Okung is not the only LT in the Draft that has good potential. Also Take a look at Elway's stats his first 6 years he only had one year that he threw more than 20 TD's and that was only 22. Campbell is not the problem. You may think he sucks but I beg to differ. The guy dumped alot and still almost threw for 4000 yrds. Give me break!!!
