Montgomery Breaks Bone in His Hand

Defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery broke a small bone in his right hand making a tackle in today's intrasquad scrimmage. After the swelling subsides and he gets some rest, the team will have an idea of a timetable for his return. "It depends on how his body heals," Coach Jim Zorn said. Montgomery, who started 15 games last season and had 47 tackles, was one of three defensive starters (Reed Doughty and Marcus Washington were the other two) who participated in the scrimmage.

Offensive lineman Kerry Brown (shoulder) was excused from the scrimmage; he was the only player absent.
