Barring 'a miracle,' Hall won't play Sunday

Cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who has a knee injury, does not expect to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints at FedEx Field.

"Not unless there's a miracle," Hall said. "I don't see it happenning."

Hall missed Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. "I've never been in a situation like this," said Hall, who has a Grade-2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament. "Just going to keep going out there and hoping it gets better, but it's not looking good. Not at all.

4th talking real big for a guy who scored 78 points in his win. Every other winner last week scored at least 84, 4 of the 5 winners scored 94 or better.

As for Etrod, you apparently do have us where you want us.

And cL, you've scored 100 or more 3 straight weeks -- and in 5 of the last 6. Definitely going to be a threat.

Me, I think Stumps Copro team is the best in the Hamsters league ... scores well every week and has a very strong lineup.

HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

Stumps team is the BEST??? WTF?!?!?

I present to you peoples exhibit #1:

http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscore?leagueId=103710&teamId=7&scoringPeriodId=11&version=quick&mode=h2h&view=scoringperiod

I STOMPED STUMP's TEAM

I may have scored 78 points but I BEAT SUZZANE. THE WON WHO HAS BEEN DOMINATING THE WHOLE SHABANG FROM THE GET GO AND I KNOCKED HER OUT OF 1ST PLACE. ME...NOT YOU OR STUMP.

And I may have lowest scoring team in the league, but I AM TIED FOR 2ND PLACE AND A WIL GET THE BYE. WTF?!?!?!?

So what are you saying? I am a fluke?

Barnes better see some playing time. If we're going to get beat we may as well accomplish something. Once we're down by 3 scores bench Smoot and let Barnes play.

A grade 2 MCL sprain isn't that bad. It definitely hurts and is tough to move around, but this isn't like Portis' injury where there could be serious repercussions for coming back too early. I don't doubt that Hall is having a tough time getting back on the field, but this isn't something to worry about long term.

As for your criticism of the trade I made, in which you think I ripped the other guy off ... the 2 guys I got combined for 7 points last week. The guys I traded away got 30. Its been lopsided, but not in the way you expected ...

and 4th, I only get concerned when you get motivated ...

Re-post:

I doubt Peyton Manning leaves the game if the Colts are down 21 with 5:26 left and 2 TOs.

Posted by: MrRedskin21 | December 2, 2009 1:59 PM

Six years ago, on a Monday night in October, the Colts trailed the Bucs in Tampa by 21 points with four minutes to play.

But Colts coach Tony Dungy didn't throw in the towel. And he was rewarded for showing faith in his team by a comeback for the ages. Led by Peyton Manning, Indy scored three touchdowns to force overtime -- and then won the thing in the extra session.

On Monday night in New Orleans, the Patriots regained possession of the ball with 5:22 to play after a missed field goal, trailing the Saints by 21 points, 38-17.

So the stage was set for another stunning outcome, right?

Wrong.

Pats coach Bill Belichick threw in the towel, pulling quarterback Tom Brady and many other starters and conceding the win to Sean Payton, Gregg Williams, and the rest of the Saints.

That should tell you something.

Bills (save for '90s) = pre 2008 Cardinals = pre '98 Buccaneers = pre Holmgren

On a side note: WTF do you call the years from 2000-2009. The '0s?

To me, the funniest stat in all of FF this year is in the Hamsters league. The top 4 teams are the 4 teams with the fewest points against. In other words, at least part of the reason we're at the top is because other teams have sucked against us.

Though, to be fair to us leaders, 3 of the top 4 teams are also in the top 5 in scoring in the league ...

Posted by: zcezcest1 | December 2, 2009 2:27 PM | Report abuse

imo, Belichick is a punk.

Yes, he runs up the score.

Interestingly, he pulled the plug down 21 with 5:26 and 2 TOs left, on a team that has Tom Brady and Randy Moss.

And I know why. He was afraid if the Pats kept fighting, the Saints would end up dropping 52 on him instead of 38, and he couldn't face that humiliation.

Classic case of a guy who can dish it out but can't take it.

I doubt Peyton Manning leaves the game if the Colts are down 21 with 5:26 left and 2 TOs.

Posted by: MrRedskin21

I somewhat agree with that about pulling Brady.

But it could also be that he pulled him because the Saints completely took away any downfield passing by the Patriots, there was nothing going on the slot to Welker... that's the Patriots right there -- slot to Welker, deep to Moss. Can't beat the Saints running the ball, UNLESS you're a beast on defense which the Patriots are NOT. Pats D can be had in the air or on the ground. And that's why Belichick goes for it on fourth down, especially this season. His defense is sorry, can be got.

Agree to disagree on running up the score. A quote from your MLB London Fletcher: “It’s their football, that’s what they chose to do with the ball. It’s our job to stop them.” - London Fletcher

An excerpt from StarTribune.com:

"The two plays in question are a fourth-and-1 from the Washington 7-yard line with 11:02 remaining, and a fourth-and-2 from the Washington 37 with 7:16 left. The Patriots converted both times en route to scoring touchdowns and taking leads of 45-0 and 52-0.

"What do you want us to do, kick a field goal?" Belichick asked. "It's 38-0. It's fourth down. It's the fourth quarter. We're just out there playing."

It's obvious some of you still have the tart taste in your mouths from two years ago. Gotta let it go. We'll have the day when we're hated and the envy of the NFL.

The suspense behind Sunday's game with NO is whether or not the Skins get blowed out. Even though the Skins have lost most of their games the scores have always been fairly close. With a slinger like Brees and a schemer like GW that could all change on Sunday. Before halftime even.

Campbell is smack dab in the middle of yards per attempt so that makes him more of a check-down cooper or check-down blacksmith. The checkdown king is Derek Anderson at 4.4 yards per attempt and his check-down knights of the intentional grounding table includes Jamarcus Russel, Brady Quinn, Kerry Collins, Matt Cassel, and Marc Bulger. Now, the check-down aristocracy consists of Matt Stafford, Shaun Hill, Chad Henne, Jake Delhomme, Alex Smith, Trent Edwards, Jay Cutler, and Matt Ryan. Sanchez, Orton, and Palmer are more like check-down clerics, jecters, and other royal servents.

Okay, so the Bills won two championships way back in the 60s. Whoop-de-f'ing-do.

Their all-time record: 352-391-8, with a 14-15 playoff record.

Yup, winners indeed in Buffalo.

Posted by: RedDMV | December 2, 2009 2:40 PM | Report abuse

The Saints are on a roll and the Skins just don't match up well against them. Campbell has been turnover prone this year and the Saints have been collecting turnovers in droves.

Meanwhile, our defense seems to let WRs go behind them a lot and the Saints WRs seem really good at getting behind DBs. And their QB knows how to deliver.

The only area that creates hope is the Skins pass rush. Brees doesn't take many sacks, but if he has to get rid of the ball quickly, he can be less accurate. A very windy day would be the Skins best friend on Sunday.

But not with Joe "Shook One" Gibbs calling the shots. If someone on defense would've done that, Joe Gibbs would've walked right over to Belichick to apologize and hug it out -- while the game was still in progress.
