Haynesworth is scheduled to start

Pro Bowl defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, sent home from practice Friday for disciplinary reasons, returned to Redskins Park on Saturday and is scheduled to start Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys at FedEx Field, according to people in the organization familiar with the situation.
Haynesworth, who arrived about 20 minutes late for a team meeting on Friday, expressed frustration with the Redskins' defensive scheme and coordinator Greg Blache in Saturday's editions of The Post. If it were up to Blache, Haynesworth would not start, multiple team sources said. But owner Daniel Snyder gave Haynesworth $41 million guaranteed in signing him last February, the Redskins are playing an NFC East rival in a nationally televised game that completes their 2009 home schedule, the Cowboys still are battling for a playoff berth and, well, all that adds up to Haynesworth starting.

He'd better start! and Blache had better have some better defensive schemes this week. Haynesworth is a true Redskin... any dude that will stomp on a cowboy's head/face and smack ny giants in the face is alright with me.

If Big Al had come to training camp in shape, Blache would have felt differently about him. The problem has worsened over the season as the Defensive Coordinator has seen a winded, vomiting, fall to the ground tired, highly paid football player who cannot be depended on. I'm not defending Blache because I would like to see him leave the Skins, but I am saying that no matter who the D Coordinator would have been, no matter what defensive schemes would have been called, Big Al was and is not in football shape ready to play football.

What? Didn't you know he'd be starting who else is gonna start you know the Danny stepped in and told Blache he's starting and that's that this team and it's coach's are the biggest clusterfu_k in the entire league this side of Tampa Bay,Greg Blache is a jackazz. I remember the 1/1 he had with the comcast crew on redskin postgame live with Trevor Mattich when Trevor asked him why the defensive line wasn't getting more pressure on the opposing QB's and Blache went ape sh#t on Mattich right in front of strawberry shortcake and i'm sitting there saying if he worked for me i'd have fired right then and there because he's a sactimonious piece of sh#t and a blowhard!!

Way to show 'em who's not boss.
Can we please fast forward to the end of this?

Agreed that AH should be in better shape, but also agree with just about everything he said. The problem of forcing a scheme on players irrespective of their strong points exists on both sides of the ball. A true coach with an inventive mind could do that. That being said, I don't think Shanny is the answer either.

Lose to the Cowboys. Eff the Giants.

Haynesworth is full of crap. No one is telling him not to blow up plays and wreak havoc. There are 1 or 2 guys in front of him, if he can whip them and get to the qb then it's all good. No one is telling him to just stand his ground and occupy olineman.

But when you are doubled, that's often what happens.

Haynesworth is pissed because Blatche tells him to eff off and it bruises Al's ego. His MO is to be the mean guy who stalks around the sideline taking plays off because he's not in shape- but too intimidating for coaches or other players to say much.

NO PLAYER who needs so many plays off like Al should say jackshi* about anything the coaches do.

also, our dbs arent good enough to allow for a ton of blitzing. I get fed up with Blatche's cushions just as much as anyone else, but dont forget that GWIll was doing the same thing. Sean Taylor was often 30 yards off the line of scrimmage it seemed.

Landry, Doughty, Rodgers, and Hall are terrible in coverage, that has as much to do with our schemes as anything else.

Hang in there Big Al!! Two more games and we will all have a new start! I hope the Redskins get a defensive coordinater that will know how to use the talent on this team!!

Get rid of the majority of this coaching staff and let football people, Allen an Shanahan put a coaching staff and team together.

It's not Greg Blache's call who starts, it's Zorn's call. If Balche is so upset about this situation, he's free to resign at any point.

Haynesworth urged teammates to show late Friday

This dude writes for the Chicago Tribune. I wonder what coach on this staff had a previous relationships in that area and would want to leak information to discredit a certain player. Not like the Redskins haven't been known for pursuing a smear campaigns.

While I'm at it mono blogging, Urban Myer's retirement raises an interesting possibility. Shanahan spent some time this offseason with Myer studying his offense. If the Skins's were to invest a late 2nd or early 3rd for Mr. Tebow, would it make sense for them to hire Myer as an offensive consultant. He could add certain packages for the golden boy that could increase his value for the team.

Yep Yep, my kind of playa!

It irks me watching any Skins help up the enemy and then giving them a pat on the back, Lavar was notorious for that kind of sportsmanship. I like players that turn on that Nasty switch when they step on the field.

Fat Albert is due a $20,000,000 roster bonus in a few months and he does what? Dude, I'd be to work EARLY for the kind of money YOU'RE STEALING from STUPID DANNY.

Danny, doesn't Fat Albert have a "follow the team rules, and directions from coaches" clause? Cut his fat ass and keep the friggin' money for an O-line!

Posted by: jcpublicmedia | December 26, 2009 9:54 PM | Report abuse

Jason -- you were a little coy and didn't come out and actually say it, but: Did The Danny actually intervene and override Blache and/or Zorn? Did the owner actually tell the coaching staff that Haynesworth better start regardless of their judgment? If so, this is EXACTLY the type of dysfunction that Bruce Allen and the next head coach need to end.
