Injury Report: Montgomery Inactive Again

Defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery (knee) will be inactive again this week, Zorn said, "but he's progressing. He's not quite ready, I'm going to put him down this week, but he's progressing to where he's actually got a chance in the next weeks to come to really make it tougher on me to make a decision. Right now, it's easy."

Montgomery has not played this season. ...

Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin (elbow) is listed as questionable, Zorn said. ...

Rocky McIntosh was excused from practice for personal reasons.

ksquare, such as portis recruiting cooley and campbell and hall and moss and big al to come to a charity event benefiting domestic violence. such as santana participating in a united way play60 event. such as rocky mac not being able to make portis's event because he was participating in a charity event of his own. such as the defensive scout team players coming up with goofy little weekly activities to build team unity.

positive stuff is out there if you care to read it

So basically nothing to do with on the field winning....if we just wanted a bunch of nice charitable guys couldn't we just root for Acorn?

Zorn:

Seems a little harsh. Couldn't he just go on I.R.?

Posted by: JohnnyRyde | October 9, 2009 4:47 PM | Report abuse

Wow...that is positive, had no idea. Enough of the glass is half full, we got some "good character" guys b.s.

Portis is a self serving a-hole. He's not an elite player, and no self respecting coach/team would put up with his shti. He's the NFL's version of Allen Iverson.

I'd say building team unity goes directly towards on the field winning. What, reading positive stuff about Redskins players ruins your day? Bummer

i'm gonna be sitting either in a canoe fishing this weekend, then in a deer stand, surrounded by some great foliage, its gonna be whisper quiet, I'm not going to have access to a tv, or a computer...I'm gonna enjoy the weekend, and all this stuff isn't gonna matter....

until monday when I get back.....dang you Redskins......

Our 2 best run stopping DTs are injured and I've been hearing that we are planning on putting Dhall on Steve Smith in Man coverage. Excuse me if I don't exactly exude sunshine and rainbows. Injured Portis will be taking most of the snaps and I doubt our coach is going to learn to call plays all of the sudden.

Panthers 27 Skins -7(offense fumbles panthers D scores a TD on the recovery).

I'm still having a hard time absorbing the fact that Portis is the highest paid RB in the league from a couple posts ago, is that really true?

Posted by: Moose33 | October 9, 2009 5:07 PM | Report abuse

Skins will NEVER win anything meaningful with portis... he's been the most overrated back in the NFC! Cut his azz now cause I guarantee no one but SNYDERRATO would be dumb enough to trade for him!!

Vegas, from the tail end of the last thread, if you're referring to Beantown's postings:

PFT = Probably Full 'Tart

And as we learned the hard way in Tropic Thunder, you never go full 'tart.

BeantownGreg, what does PFT stand for, and how can I find out more. Seriously.

Posted by: VegasJim | October 9, 2009 4:49 PM

When anyone else refers to it, they mean the website ProFootballTalk.com When Greg posts it, it stand for Pure Fraudulent Tripe. He's said many times that he can't access it at work, so he just posts the rumors that he wishes he could see.

"These guys love each other. They absolutely love each other," Zorn said. "This is just how a team goes. I thought it was great."

From RI

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that Media, or readers and listeners to Media should believe anything Jim Zorn says.

Zorn never, but NEVER stops claiming there is a pony underneath every fresh pile of Horse hockey they discover in Redskinville.

And if the Media don't believe him, what makes you think the team does?

He makes Flounder look like a gloomy gus.

He makes Mary Poppins look sound Richard Lewis.

And his ceaseless optimism in the face of disaster is depressing me.

Happy weekend, errybody. Hail to 'em.

Obviously, JReid's agenda driven negative post about MK a few threads ago is the reason for this. Damn media.

My beef is....The Media is choosing, ahead of time, the point of implosion for this team and only post stuff to back up their argument. They go out and look for stuff to back it up, but not to dispell it. And the magority of onlookers have yet to break free from the media's hypnosis (ala the Matrix). I have been free since 9/11 and enjoy it very much.

Posted by: 4thFloor

You "broke free of Media," after 9/11 yet you manage to read RI and post here. I see your point tho, I HATE the way the Media flew those airplanes into those buildings, and then Al Qaeda reported it.

If you are really hypnotized by Media, I suggest you adjust the contrast on your TV, read differing opinions, do your own investigating, and some homework to see which media tend to be accurate most often.

You might even, as a little exercise, come up with supporting material to back up your unsubstantiated claim that the "media" only posts stuff to back up their argument that the team is imploding.

Also, you ARE aware The Matrix was fiction, aren't you?

"Injury Report: Montgomery Inactive Again"

This means more Jarmon, Alexander as the panthers are a double tight, run heavy squad.

Again: we'll have to play a safety in the box and dare Delhomme to make plays against our corners.

Press coverage should rule the day for us.

If I'm the panthers, I run power and lead plays at Andre Carter, especially the lead draw.

I also would 'chip' Fletcher with the playside tight end and force him to work through traffic to get to the ball carrier.

Betts should get plenty of carries with the skins running directly at Peppers with power and force to wear him down.

We should come back at the panthers in double tight as well.

Maybe it's time Fred Davis earns his check.

Sorry for the scheme talk, but the other chatta about fights and whatnot sucks.

Trust me.

Come on, Cork.

What do people want the Head Coach to say?

"Yeah, you're right. We suck, and it's all going to hell in a handbasket. These guys can't execute, and we can't play call worth a darn. If I'm the owner, I would be looking to start over around the bye, too."

He's trying to keep his team together. He doesn't need to pull a Jim Mora - why? EVERYONE ELSE is pulling the negativity stunt.

Yea Sherman, something close to the truth would be nice. If he said just what you jokingly claimed then maybe he would be holding some people accountable. We suck is the truth. These a holes aren't doing their jobs is the truth. Speak the truth instead of telling us it's all puppies and rainbows when it's clearly a pile of turd.

When everyone else is calling them crap, his job is to keep them from believing it, not agree with the rest of us.

When everyone else is singing their praises, he's supposed to keep them from getting a big head and playing like a bunch of terds. Hence why coaches don't say "we completely suck" when the media is all over them, or "we're awesome!" when things are going well.

He isn't doing anything that almost all coaches do under the circumstances.

If you'd like to hear him claim the house is on fire, like everyone else, grab a snickers.

Posted by: shaunsherman12 | October 9, 2009 6:12 PM | Report abuse

...on another note, I don't think people here REALLY want truth. They want to believe that if we JUST change the coach, or JUST change the QB, or JUST draft a few lineman, that NEXT year it will all be different.

In that way, they are like the owner. Disillusioned about how far way this team is from being a winner.

Of course, I hope I am very wrong, and they go on a run. I'll happily eat crow if that turns out to be the case.

Posted by: shaunsherman12 | October 9, 2009 6:16 PM | Report abuse

ShSherm, I think what we REALLY want is for the team to JUST play tough and smart every week, to JUST start winning on a consistent basis, to JUST get back to the kind of play that earned us the admiration and respect of many and the loathing and envy of others (F Dallas), to JUST make us proud to be fans every single game, to JUST be the kind of team that plays into January almost every year and occasionally into February... and every NEXT season get right back to work and do it again...

Also, Zorn has this alarming tendency to either deny anything is wrong or (even worse) to deflect all the blame onto his players... we've seen a lot of each of those. I'd like the head coach to honestly acknowledge the good and bad, to praise his players and coaches for the good and take responsibility himself for the bad. There used to be a guy who worked out at the Park who did this...

Isn't he the one who had motivation problems coming out of college, now he can't be motivated to get on the field... he still gets a pay check though. Wish I could get away with that trick. If I don't work for 3 weeks I get canned, not paid. Oh, and put him down??? does anyone know the number for elmers glue or the alpo factory??? Maybe the skins can get a return on the investment in him.
