Paulescu released; Holmes signed from practice squad

With punter Hunter Smith apparently having recovered from a groin injury, the Redskins today released punter Sam Paulescu and signed rookie safety Lendy Holmes from the practice squad.

Paulescu performed well while handling punting duties in place of the injured Smith during last week's 31-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome. He had overall and net averages of 50 and 46 yards, respectively, and would have been kept on the roster if Smith had continued to struggle with his groin injury.

But Smith punted well enough this week to persuade coaches he is ready to return to the lineup Sunday against the Denver Broncos at FedEx Field. The Redskins added Holmes to the active roster because second-year safety Chris Horton (toe surgery) was placed on the season-ending injured-reserve list this week.

Nice to see Lendy get a chance.

With Paulescu released, who will be punting in the second half? Suisham again?

This is clearly the final piece to put us over the top. 10-6, here we come!!!

Oops, typo. I meant 2-14.

Lendy had some nice plays at the free safety position in the preseason.

Of course he's never going to see the field.

LL30 could miss 25 tackles and Zorn will still tell us how "wicked" good he is back there and sees no reason to make changes.

Check the team roster on Redskins.com. It will be updated except that there is now one opening.

Wanna bet? He'll be in on the first play of the game and probably the rest of the special teams plays.

Ole Miss McCluster was Chris Johnson-esqus rippin' Tennessee..Mad Quiicks, creates unheard of adlustments on the fly , in hyperspeed ( as long as he wasn't on meth-gum)- lot of these mad fly-react players (like on W.Va.) this year will have NFL Impact next year...But it won't mean KAKA to a seedling for the 'Skins if they don't have a decent O-line (etc. yawn, get a clue, dan, the perpetual question , Snyder, you Vegas - mongering dumbass)... Speaking of "Commitment", "Integrity", etc. hyped on South Carolina uniforms this Veteran's Day Week, how about the Rich Elites avoiding war "commitment" and "service", like the mound of papers Cheney and Bush Jr. submitted so as NOT to be sent into combat?? BIG pile of deferments, we exist in an ocean of lies, perpetuated by the Rich Elites who own the media (including you, Washington Post)...

Snyder should go get Charlie Weiss to be head coach next year. That way he can keep Vinny as GM.
