Redskins have last chance for NFC East win

The Redskins are 0-5 against the NFC East and complete their division schedule
Sunday night as they play host to the Dallas Cowboys in the FedEx Field season finale.

Washington last failed to defeat an NFC East opponent in the 1994 season. That season, the Redskins finished 3-13 under coach Norv Turner.

"Whatever," top wide receiver Santana Moss said. "It really don't matter. I mean, you would like to not have to be deal that card. Or be dealt that kind of a record in your division. But this far in the season, this far what we've been through, is going through, only thing you're trying to do is win."

I thought it was a dumb call, but would make two points for Zorn. 1. He succeeded earlier in the year with two other fake FG's, and two out of three ain't bad. (I got that from Meatloaf). 2. Play would have worked if Smith threw it to the receiver who was open behind the Giants' defenders. Guy just didn't have enough arm. Zorn should have put Collins in as the "holder" for that play given that he'd already telegraphed it.

You must not get out much. See Bog, Wise. The play was supposed to fail. And if Snyder axed Z for giving him the finger then he would have one upped his newly minted GM, not that anyone was really expecting the guy to have any hiring/firing authority anyway. But you normally expect there to be a decent interval before the veil drops, not 3 forkin days.

Looked like Fred Davis would have been pretty much alone in the corner of the end-zone...not a very well-thrown ball.

thats why he is a kicker.

Cleve is paying Fat Mike $50 M to rebuild the Brown pants. Someone such as Jones or Snyder will pay Thin Mike $10 M/yr on top of the $7 M he is getting from Bowl. Has beens making out like highwaymen. Heh, heh.

The only reason he was alone is because the jints defenders stopped when they realized the ball was underthrown. There were 5 guys in coverage!!! Montana couldn't have hit Rice on that play.

What is funny to me is that my first thought was when the Skins made that move before the jints timeout was that the jints were going to call timeout and that would have the effect of freezing our kicker. Zorn did that earlier this year to suisham vs dallas (I think) at the end of the first half.

I was about to rip him for freezing his own kicker, again .... but I had to let it go when he exceeded his usual allotment of bone-headedness.

I'd like Jerry Gray to have to stand there and take one of Lawrong's driving freight train hit attempts full force for the crappy job he's done this year with what should be the best part of our team.

- and he doesn't get to step easily out of the way like all the opposing receivers do to Lawrong every game.

Even that might be expecting too much from LL.

Once he gets a new deal Bowlen will be off the hook unless the deal is less than what Bowlen was paying him. With Snyder that'll be unlikely.

Not necessarily. Welcome Matt Millen gets two paychecks, one from NFL Net, the other from ESPN.

Actually the dud prob also gets a paycheck from the Ford fambly as well for the outstanding job he did rebuilding the Lions.

Those were back breaking TDs he gave up, but Landry was all over the place that game. He played well in Dallas also.

Exactly. That is precisely my point- does it really matter how well he played (or the captain did) for 95% of the game (voyage) if when it matters most you fail?

Bottom line is LaRon is unlikely to ever live up to his potential here. The tragic loss of 21 forced him out of position, and he's just not as good as advertised to begin with. I know he's only 25 but if we could get a 3rd round pick for him, I'd take it in a NY minute

In order to do a decent job of playing safety in the NFL you need to have pattern recognition skills. Sad to say, I don't think either him or Camp have the requisite skills in this area to go with their obvious physical skills.
