Shanahan understands McIntosh's plight but hopes he'll come around soon
Linebacker Rocky McIntosh did not participate in the Redskins' voluntary minicamp because of frustration about his contract situation, and hopes to be traded soon.
"I understand what Rocky's situation is," Coach Mike Shanahan said. "A lot of these guys that have been restricted free agents, and all of a sudden you're going into your fifth year, you're going into your sixth year where years past you're getting that big contract. I can understand.
"I understand. I can sympathize what they're going through. But at the same time, we're dealing with the situation at hand and I'd like Rocky to come in as quickly as possible and be with his teammates. But I understand how agents, some guys do things differently, and I've got a lot of respect for Rocky and hopefully he'll be in here quickly.

Id hate to see him go, but im totally against the me-first attitude and it seems like thats what hes doing! Hes deinately a great worker and one good linebacker! Please Rocky, just get over the selfish attitude! Dude, you made over $600,000.00 more than me last year and I work 12 months!!!! Get over it!!!!

he has no leverage
