Kelly Stays Home to Heal

From Jason La Canfora

Rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly stayed in Virginia to get treatment for his injured ankle, and believes he is getting closer to playing. His bad luck continued as he caught a virus over the weekend, but playing Sunday in Philadelphia is not out of the question.

"I did some drills today and felt pretty good," kelly said. "But we'll have to see how it feels Wednesday at ractice."

Overall, Kelly said he thinks the rest has helped. "I needed some time off to let it heal up," Kelly said.

I'm sorry I forgot to note the person who pointed this out in the previous thread, but the more I think about Doughty playing linebacker, I like it. It's evident he plays best against the run, but struggles during overage in space. Having him play LB gives us a solid player against the run and elevates the amount of coverage skill in LB corp. Still thrilled over yesterdays win. Hail!

Not looking good for our buddy Derrick Frost in GB:

"The Green Bay Packers might be changing punters soon after Derrick Frost had a miserable performance Sunday in a 30-21 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Punting five times, Frost averaged 38 yards (gross) and 30.2 (net). His hang times were disappointing as well. The showing by Frost came on the heels of a lousy effort against Dallas, which left coach Mike McCarthy expressing his dissatisfaction. One of the veteran punters on the street is Ryan Plackemeier, who was cut when Seattle signed Ryan. Plackemeier has a big leg but is overweight and doesn't react well to off-line snaps. He punted for Seattle in 2006 and '07."

"...he caught a virus over the weekend"

So, technically, he now has 2 catches this season.

Somebody please research this Scamp. if you have time.

How many other teams will have played 3 road division games in the first 5 weeks.

F the NFL for this scheduling, Dallas has not played a road division game yet.

If we take this one from Philly. we have a good chance to go 5-1 in the div.

Denver and Oakland both play there 3 division rivals in the first 5 weeks. Both have 2 on the road and 1 at home.

Easiest cut to get to this 53 man roster was Frost. There will be no one to blame after he is cut from GB and will be out of FB work from that point on.

And Brooks is only going to get better!

So if you listened to the vinny show, I ask you, did the Cowherd thing prove my theory any more or did it hurt it?

My theory being, that the Skins PR department wants to go after a different reporter after each win.
