Kicking It With The Kickers
So the Skins will be marching a few kickers in this morning after all. Still efforting to nail down who exactly will be here, but I heard last night that Vanderjagt is leaning towards sitting on his millions from the Cowboys, returning to Toronto to be with his kid for the winter than checking out the free agent kicker market in the offseason.
Of course, the Redskins have a way of changing player's plans, and the allure of a another lucrative signing bonus could help to that end. I do know that many of the guys who have been here for kicking competitions in the past, like Jose Cortez and Tyler Jones, did not get the call this time. Others younger kickers who have showed well in brief spots, like Aaron Elling and Travis Dorsch, have not heard from the Skins, either.
It could turn out that perhaps someone is signed more as a kickoff specialist as well depending on how well these guys fare in the competition this afternoon.
I'll post more as I learn it.
Cheers.
