Betts' Return Still a Few Weeks Away
Ladell Betts continues rehab on his knee, aiming for a return after the bye, but has yet been able to do much beyond a little weight training.
Betts sprained his knee in a loss to the Rams, with MRIs revealing he would be out about a month. Betts began aiming to return in November and hopes to begin jogging next week while his teammates are away for the bye week. Betts has yet to be informed by the training staff if that is a feasible timetable, but he said his knee feels much better this week and is responding well to treatment.
He would then hope to be able to begin practicing at least on a limited basis coming out of the bye, with a return sometime soon thereafter.
"That's my desire, as long as my knee cooperated with my mind," Betts said. "We'll see where it goes."
The Redskins signed free agent Shaun Alexnader with Betts hurt, and have continued to run the ball more than any team in the NFL even with Betts out. Betts has run 38 times for 156 yards this season, an average of 4.1 yards per carry.

We're 6-2 and all Jasno can write about is Betts' injury timetable, which people on this blog have been asking for! It's getting old!

Why do we need Betts now that we've got Shaun Alexander? Betts will spend the rest of the year riding the pine.
Gweez,
No, it's not just you. The IT department at the Post is trying some experiments aimed at frustrating bloggers.

the blog has been acting really funny for days now, long time to refresh/post, lots and lots of repetitive posts, like on the last thread, I submitted that only once, it took like 10 minutes to upload and when the page refreshed it was on there 3 times, somethings going wrong on with the post's servers. cindy?

Noticed something re the London stop to end the Lions last gasp effort:
Johnson had to to run back towards the Lions' line of scrimmage as he crossed the field. The Umpire walked up toward the line after the snap to get his holding call read and cut off Johnson who had to adjust his route to get around the umpire. Guy must be a former SEC player, LOL. At least he didn't give him the fore arm shiv as he went by...
Seriously, i think the ump's being in the way helped LBF make the play. The angles would have been completely different if Johnson had not been impeded.
Definitely not complaining... just goes to show how may things can go wrong on a play... Marinelli's staff failed to account for the umpire when they designed the play : )

We REALLY need Betts for the Giants game, if he can't get back for the cowboys. We need another punishing back in there who is gonna soften up the Giants front 4 besides Clinton. Alexander will not do that.

We need Betts healthy for December and January.
We can't go in those months with SA37. He is too soft......

We REALLY need Betts back for the Giants, if not for the Cowboys.
We need another back to punish the Giants line to spell CP and Alexander will not cut it.

cindy, i don't know much about servers and networking and such as maps...but i know a bit about when things aren't getting done right: contracts! time to end this relationship cindy. this is way worse than 99.9% or even 99% or 98%...we're experiencing poor performance almost 25-30% of the time on this blog.
very cute video of that girl...and the comments were funny as well.
btw...this is reporting. no one up here has a beef. check that...no one in there right mind up here has any beef with jasno's reporting.

Hard to tell? You got it right the first time -- I'm completely transparent, except when I'm not.
Funny. Do you remember when we had all those debates about trading Betts for a 4th or 5th round draft pick? Then we'd have two Justin Tryons and Shaun Alexander instead of Betts.

Not having issues today, but yesterday was a bit painful. Of course it didn't help with them shuffling posts all around.

zjfr2 = JLC's brother?
Posted by: craig2 | October 29, 2008 12:42 PM | Report abuse
nope, just a guy who wishes our team was well run, we've stumbled into being well coached, now if we could only stumble into be well run, oh wait that would mean that the guy running would have to do the most convoluted search in the history of football and be denied by anybody with any sort of experience or reputation before finally settling on a complete unknown to replace his best buddy in the whole wide world and then have it work out beyond anybody's wildest expectations, doubt that's gonna happen. But hey, Zorn is proof anything is possible, and maybe just maybe Zorn is good enough that he starts to get a say in personnel and eventually takes that role over, that would be great.
Posted by: zjfr2 | October 29, 2008 12:58 PM | Report abuse
Oh, that was good. So they deserve no credit whatsoever? All you can do is find fault, what a JLC you are.
Last year this team's depth was tested in a big time way, and they passed very nicely thank you very much, that's good team management. This year, the team's depth is also being tested and guess what, their 6-2, that's good team management.
You take facts that are out of date adn try to apply them to the here and now, and it just doesn't have any merit.
Most reasonable people agree that what counts is results, and the results from last year and now this year are pretty good. It's easy to sit at your computer and criticize the draft, but they apparently haven't been needed yet, or the team wouldn't be winning. If they fall apart without contributions from the draft, then the draft deserves to be downgraded, but until that point comes(which I don't see happening) it isn't fair, accurate or reasonable.
