Landry fined $7,500, Haynesworth $5,000

Redskins safety LaRon Landry has been fined $7,500 and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth $5,000 in connection with the sideline fracas between the Redskins and Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, according to a league source who spoke on condition of anonymity because fines are not usually made public.

DeAngelo Hall will not be fined, the source said, and Jeff Fish, the Falcons' director of athletic performance was fined $2,500. Falcons Coach Mike Smith was hit with a $15,000 fine, bringing the total amount of fines for the incident to $30,000.

Rumor has it that Deangelo was not fined because "he showed great courage for a sissy".

Mike Smith has to be a sad panda right now.

still not sure why LL was fined. The penalty for a late hit is 15 yards. It was not so absurdly late that it should draw a fine.

They should have fined our entire defense for not having enough balls on the field.

Bet you wouldn't say that to his face. All you'll be bumpin' is "Yes sir, Mr. Hall, no sir, Mr. Hall, I think you great Mr. Hall, I like the Redskins, Mr. Hall, I hope you get a interception, Mr. Hall. Can I get your autograph, Mr. Hall? Do you like the hand-tug lip treatment, Mr. Hall?"

Bet 5 you'd be soaking him up... all over his nuts like lint...

A league source said Meangelo wasn't fined because after watching 8 weeks of tape they realized it was completely implausible that Meangelo would actually hit anyone anywhere anytime. Testimony from Jake Delhome revealed that at worst Hall is only capable of shirt grabbing and Mario Manningham testified that slapboxing was the extent of Hall's ferocity...this was later confirmed in the very game the incident occurred in by Michael Turner. Thus, the league concluded that Meangelo Hall presents no credible threat to the safety of grown men making his threats and trash talking meaningless and all players in the league already know it.

I could be wrong as well, but shouldn't a 3rd round pick pretty much be a starter by now?

Posted by: ksquare | November 12, 2009 1:55 PM

How many third rounders from that draft are now starters?

Posted by: League-Source | November 12, 2009 2:22 PM | Report abuse

Jeezus, I thought you'd know this with your moniker.

Current starters -- all 3rd round picks:

Kevin Smith RB Lions
Mario Manningham WR Gints
Andre Caldwell WR Bengals
Steve Slaton RB Texans
Jamaal Charles RB Chiefs
Earl Bennett WR Bears
Jeremy Zuttah OG Bucs

Only 4 O linemen were taken in the 3rd round...Cousins (OG Ravens), Zuttah (OG Bucs), John Greco (OT Rams) and good ol' CR.

They should have penalized our entire defense for 'not having enough nutz on the field'...

15 yard penalty, first down!

Apparently if you watch the tape LaRon comes back into the scrum with big Al.

It was a stupid hit with the sole purpose of trying to injure Matt Ryan. It was dirty. He may have a leg to stand on if Matt was at least looking at him and was actually trying to gain more yards down the sideline but Matt had given up and conceded that he was going out of bounds. He was well past the first down and wasn't trying to advance his position. He was clearly going out of bounds. Landry had no reason to jack him like that. He should save those hits for running back that are in bounds.

ElBig Chroizo writes of the 'sheeny curse' visited on the skins by owner Dan Synder. It's one thing to curse the owner, who we all agree has made a miserable job of handling the 'Skins, but quite another to lay it on his religion. Speaking of curses, Chroizo my friend, why don't you man up, tell us who you are, and see if there's a 'sheeny curse' waiting for you?

This is to all you D Hall Haters. He did nothing on the sideline to be fined. All you Hall haters should be ashamed as Redskin fans. You all don't have the players backs and should be released.
