Landry Focuses on His Brother's Injury

Redskins safety LaRon Landry's thoughts and prayers are with his brother, Dawan, a safety with the Ravens. Dawan Landry was carted off the field Sunday with what at first appeared to be very serious injuries during Baltimore's home game with Cleveland. Landry was hit in the head by Jamal Lewis's knee and lay motionless on the field for a while as attendants removed his facemask and strapped him to a board. A CT scan and X-rays showed that Landry was okay, the Ravens said.

He spent the night in the hospital and was to undergo an MRI today, LaRon Landry said, but did have movement in his extremities, did not lose consciousness and was functioning normally for the most part.

LaRon Landry caught news of the injury after the Redskins beat Arizona and was obviously shaken. LaRon, the little brother, was always the one getting hurt and banged up as a kid, so it was strange for him to see his big brother injured.

"It hurt for me to see him like that," LaRon Landry said. "I was very scared. I didn't know what happened."

From Barry Svrluga

Running back Clinton Portis parked his burgundy Toyota pickup truck at Redskins Park yesterday with a unique new paint job that served as a tribute to Sean Taylor, the Redskins safety who was slain at his Florida home last year. The truck has a portrait of Taylor, wearing a bandana around his head, on the back tailgate with 4-1-88, Taylor's date of birth, and 11-27-07, the day he died.

Portis, like Taylor, went to the University of Miami, and he was particularly close to the former star. He declined to comment on the paint job, but he parked it in the spot reserved for special teams standout Rock Cartwright.

"It was just a nice thing for Clinton to do," Cartwright said. "Sean's always going to be a part of what we do here, and Clinton was just showing him respect."

I'm pretty sure that was Moss's truck. We saw the players come into the stadium. It may well be Portis' truck, but Santana was driving and Clinton arrived in a different vehicle.

LaRon,

The thoughts and prayers of Redskins Nation are with you and your family right now. We all wish Dawan a speedy and complete recovery. Oh, and if you wanted to take your anger and frustration out on T.O. and company this weekend, you have our blessing.

You suck, JLC. 'nuff said.

What's happend over the past two / three years? Where are all the JLC haters coming from? Did I miss something?

JaLaCa haters actually LOVE him. The more often they click on RI and make comments the more likely the management will keep him blogging because they only look at the numbers, they don't care what is said.

I don't care if inadvertently pleasing WP mgmt or not, this anti-JLC crap has to stop. Is the man a gifted speller? No. Is he going to win any swimsuit competitions anytime soon? No. God help us if he even enters one. But for the love of Riggo, shut up already with the "JLC sucks" stuff. The guy gives us good information (most of the time) and puts a lot of time into this blog. Give him a break.

HTTR!! Get well soon 55!! Same to Dawan Landry.

what is this "tampering" story you people keep talking about. Enlighten me.

Pffft. He was just suspended by WaPo, and he deserves to eat sh!t and lose his job. Personal agendas have no place in the news. The guy is a pathetic dope. Sayonara LaCantreporta!

hey guys NEWSFLASH...JLC does not work for the Redskins. He can call whoever he would like regarding tampering. Im sure Vinny tampered, he does everything else wrong

It actually doesent need to stop because this is a redskins blog. I dont want to hear about soccor, baseball or anything else that is not the redskins. Hes the first one to bash anything the skins do and the last one to say a good word. I dont mind if you tell it like it is but being a redskins fan my whole life I can see when the team sucks I dont need someone whos not a fan like Jason pointing it out to me every chance he can get. It gets old after a while when the opinions on this blog are so anti redskins.

SERIOUSLY JLC, YOU ARE A JOKE

NICE TRY ON THE TAMPERING BS YOU STARTED

I HOPE THE SKINS REVOKE YOUR MEDIA CREDENTIALS, YOU ARE A SORRY EXCUSE FOR A "REDSKINS INSIDER"

YOU'RE TRULY A POS

Jason,

This obviously doesn't make you happy. Yes, you write for an important newpaper...but your "zest" has seemed to only show itself in stories that bash the team. I'm willing to bet that any independant editor would favor the quality of your posts that are anti-snyder to those that are actually unbiased. Let the anger go, let us see the journalist that may be underneath your current facade.

Posted by: Nick Cox | September 23, 2008 2:57 AM | Report abuse

Yes. I agree with all the negative stuff everyone here has said about JLC! We should Tie him to a post and burn him alive. Better yet, lets plant a large crucifix in his front yard and set it on fire. Do you think there is enough time in the season to pull a strand of hair out of his head every time the skins gain a yard on offense - until he is bald?
OR we could wait for him to explain himself and have these punk as fools who jump to conclusions like that guy from office space just shut up. JLC is a journalist. Dont like what he has to say about it when he explains it, then go ahead and grumble. As for the logical side of the fans (The ones who werent calling for #5 to play QB after the first game) we exercise patience, and the mental capacity to understand that things are not always as one person makes them seem. I damn sure dont take everything Jason says to heart everytime he blogs!

At least JLC attempts t give his readers the strait unsenseored stuff, unlike the Synder contoled media propaganda machine. To date I have not been tempted to comsume the KOOL-AID that SynderMedia is selling. And in closing just let me say "Give It A Break Larry"!
