No timetable for LaRon Landry's return

By Jason Reid

The Redskins apparently still have no timetable for the return of strong safety LaRon Landry, who has missed the past two games because of an Achilles' tendon injury and is wearing a walking boot,.

"I can't tell you for sure until he gets out of the boot," Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday at Redskins Park. "When that's gonna be, I'm not really sure.

"We're gonna look at him and evaluate him day-by-day. We'd like him back as soon as we could. But, obviously, they're not gonna take him outta that boot until they feel like the Achilles makes some strides."

In the first nine games, the fourth-year player appeared to be on track for his first Pro Bowl appearance. Despite missing the last two games, Landry still is tied for 13th in the league in unassisted tackles with 66 and tied for 15th with 85 total tackles.

Landry performed so well in the first half of the season that coordinator Jim Haslett said he should be considered among the leading candidates for the NFL's defensive most valuable player award. But it now appears possible that Landry is headed to the season-ending injured reserve list.

"Your guess is as good as mine," Shanahan said. "I don't know for sure, until the doctors take a look at him."

Kubiak gave Johnson a game ball....

But though his team delighted in the fight with Finnegan, Johnson was apologetic about it after the game:

"I really don't have anything to say about Cortland."

Classic. I love it.

Andre Johnson is on my list of all-time favorite WRs behind Gary Clark and Jerry Rice.

He doesn't need to say anything about Cortland, b/c he did his talking with those haymakers, and Cortland was notably left off his list of people he was "apologetic" towards.

In the meantime you've a great boost whenever I feel my own cynicism level dropping.

One more doosh nozzle with nothing substantial to offer.

Even though, that was a half-assed effort to offer me praise.

I can't help but think of that retarded kid from that show no one watched about 15 years ago when ever I see your name.

Ice him.

2010 season is just another lost cause.

So much for that double-digit win total with playoffs [playoffs?!?!] to boot.

IR whoever has any small injuries such as a bit lip and bring up all the cats from the practice squad.

Bummer about LL30.

I was skeptical about his ability to rediscover Pro Bowl form before the season, and I'm delighted to be shut up and proven wrong.

LL30 was one of the few consistent entertaining playermakers to watch on the Skins D (DeAngelo being the other one).

PF looks in the mirror, describes himself, and p1funk is giddy. You're inhaling glue, funk.

Wonder if this means Landry's continuing to bulk up his upper body while the Achilles rests. We was starting to look a bit bottom heavy...

This season is a lost cause. Don't risk bringing a player like Landry back too soon. He was one of the few stars on this team who really can be an All Pro.

Albert Haynesworth? Not so much.
