Lloyd Hurt

Brandon Lloyd injured his shoulder when he hit the ground on the last play of practice, Coach Joe said. The receiver left The Park in a sling and was going for further testing.

Receivers Santana Moss and James Thrash missed practice as well - Thrash is definitely out and Moss is looking very iffy to play - some Reche Caldwell, come on down. Looks like Randle El and McCardell could be starting, with Caldwell as the No. 3. Burt Toler is on the practice squad, and he might end up activated, I imagine, given all these injuries. (Can't help feeling bad for Mike Espy through all of this. He was ready to soldify his place, I think, tore up his knee in camp and missed what could have been a breakthrough season him. He would have ended up with a lot of PT with all these injuries.).

LB Marcus Washington (hamstring) practiced fully, so barring a setback that's a good sign that he might be able to play. CB Fred Smoot (hamstring) was limited in practice. Sean Taylor (knee) and Pete Kendall (knees) also missed practice.

While I'm sorry that he got hurt, I do want to know who tripped him?

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 14, 2007 4:13 PM | Report abuse

I don't even know what to say. I have to laugh, otherwise I might start drinking before I'm even off the clock.

UnFingBelievable. FLloyd!

We can only hope that his injury is bad enough to put his sorry a$$ on IR and end this roller coaster ride with this dude one way or another.

Posted by: JustMe | November 14, 2007 4:15 PM | Report abuse

ehh.. is there really any loss here?

Posted by: goskinsgo | November 14, 2007 4:15 PM | Report abuse

what a joke... not that Flloyd has been a crucial element to this team... but this team is withering away...

lots and lots of injuries! so who is next to drop...

That sucks. We need everyone this week. Even Floyd.

I love Campbell, but I guarantee Lloyd got hurt laying out for yet another overthrown deep ball. I've been shocked a couple of times Lloyd hasn't hurt himself in the games doing this. Say what you will about the guy, he gives it everything he's got to catch up to those bombs.

X_1967 what are you thinking?

I am thinking it is time we start playing like a team with the highest payroll in the league.

I am sick and tired of that punk "awshucks" look on players faces when they don't execute on third and one from the 5 yard line with the game in the balance. The "oops I made a mistake" attitude like it will be okay.

It's not okay. These guys need to fear coming to work the week after a loss because they are a bunch of screw ups and can't put a game away. Losing is contagious. They act like losers.

We need a new group of guys that want to kick ass and take names.

LiberalMike, you're both praising Lloyd for his effort and blaming Campbell for Lloyd's injury?

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

Another great post, X. You're en-fuego.

Coming from you, Dan Snyder's Lap Dog, it is a huge compliment.

LiberalMike,

I think your last post stunned me more even more than all of the trade XYZ posts from X_1967. I'm with Nate. Wow.

Just heard on TV that Ryan Clark is on IR for the remainder of the season.

I love how anyone who calls certain posters out on the utter ridiculousness of their comments/thoughts/opinins/delusions are Dan Snyders lapdogs....

hey if that means I am smarter than you I am dropping clevland steamers on the entire front office!

Time for McCardell to have a breakout week. It would be nice to see the return of a good game for ARE as well. Also time to get Cooley off the line and running some routes.

Skins by 4!

Nate JustMe, I', pretty sure LiberalMike's post was pure and unadulterated sarcasm. I certainly laughed

Maybe you can replace LLoyd with Todd Pinkston.

Utter ridiculousness? Yeah, I watched those clowns (the Redskins) this weekend as they once again redefined "utter ridiculousness."

What a bunch of chumps. At least with a bunch of rookies the expectations wouldn't be so high.

Oh, right, sarcasm. I get jokes.

Just a little touchy up here today, is all. Shame on me.

Justme, I heard the same thing about Clark. Ruptured spleen, I think was the cause.

CL, lol. Guys like that aren't worth the time. They don't even understand just how moronic what they're saying is. Just how truly foolish their statements are.

X, do us all a favor and, stop watching them then.

The amazing thing re: Clark, he was the first player of the season to go to IR on the Stillers' roster. We have what, now, 7? Hopefully, 8??? LOL

Posted by: JustMe | November 14, 2007 4:49 PM | Report abuse

Hopefully 8??? That's just wrong.

any word if we'll bring Mike Williams (former USC WR) in for a visit. Oakland cut him. He's tall

Posted by: gregskins | November 14, 2007 4:57 PM | Report abuse

Nate,

I think Lloyd is a jerk and Campbell is the future of the franchise and will be a GREAT QB.

I'm just saying how I bet the injury happened. Lloyds effort in the games has been fine (except the interception where he didn't try to tackle). I think his problem is he doesn't work hard during the week.

Posted by: LiberalMike | November 14, 2007 4:59 PM | Report abuse

"Oakland cut him" That should answer your question right there.

Posted by: bigfish | November 14, 2007 4:59 PM | Report abuse

Lisa,

I normally don't wish injury or harm to players, but it really angers me how little Lloyd has contributed to this team.

The Sports Junkies were talking about him yesterday. They said a source from Redskins Park told them that Lloyd didn't miss a meeting prior to the Jets game. They were told that the real reason he was left at home for that game was because he got into a screaming match with one of the Offensive coaches, and St. Joe, complete with F-bombs.

No production and no class. Yuck. He needs to be gone.

Oakland traded Randy Moss for less than we gave up for Lloyd. Randy Moss. And they couldn't sign the number 1 pick in the draft -- the guy you usually have signed before you pick him. Williams may be worth a look.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 14, 2007 5:02 PM | Report abuse

I'd be surprised if he got into an F-bomb laced argument and it didn't come out in the press in a big way. Jason wouldn't miss that, would he?

Sorry, I think the fans that have spent time, money and energy on this franchise deserve a better return on their investment.

See Danny Boy practices mushroom management, he feeds you sh*t and keeps you in the dark. You can prattle on all you like about this and that, however Danny relies on your blind allegiance. He sits in his box in his overstuffed leather chair and laughs at his subjects (you), as ad after ad plays on his big screen inundating you subliminally to "buy this or that."

He tops it off with $6 hot dogs and warm $8 beers. And you like it. I don't.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 14, 2007 5:06 PM | Report abuse

Just because I'm 6'3 290lbs doesn't mean I'm coming in to help out on the O-line or D-line. So what if he's 6'5 and played at USC. Mike Williams is nothing but a bust. He never worked out in Detroit. Oakland was dumb enough to make a trade to bring him there and he didn't work for them either and they cut him midway through the season. You don't bring in someone like that after the halfway point in the season to a team with a 700 page offensive playbook and expect him to be able to contribute this year.

Posted by: bigfish | November 14, 2007 5:08 PM | Report abuse

I'm thinking if there was anything to the Sports Junkies' claims that Lloyd would have been fined. Come on, they call themselves "sport junkies." That's not even as credible as "talent evaluator."

Look, I wish Lloyd would start, score three touchdowns, and be named player of the week. I don't think it's even as likely as some of my wishes (I think fantasies is the correct term) that involve four of the Redskinettes from last year's calendar, but it's a more constructive wish than seeing him maimed or disabled.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 14, 2007 5:09 PM | Report abuse

bigfish,

Then who do you bring in? The talent available at this point in the season is a bit, well, picked over. Do we grab someone off of somebody's practice squad?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 14, 2007 5:13 PM | Report abuse

Posted by: bigfish | November 14, 2007 5:16 PM | Report abuse

I didn't say bring in anyone. Moss needs to man up and get his a$$ out there on the field.

Posted by: bigfish | November 14, 2007 5:17 PM | Report abuse

Beep-beep!

Posted by: TheCindy | November 14, 2007 5:19 PM | Report abuse

Moss, Thrash and I guess Lloyd (not that it matters) are all week to week. If one of them were out for the year other than Lloyd then it's time to bring in other receivers but anyone you bring in now is not going to play for at least a couple of weeks and by that time he ends up riding the pine because Moss and Thrash are back.
